Fledglings fly into December to party hard.

Morning.

Tomorrow is December 1st which means roll call for the fledglings and shiny new thread. It might seem a bit clicky but it is because it is a long term thread, park your arse in the naughty corner for moral support, natter and various delicious goodies. Oh and smidge of housework too.

We follow the flylady system HOWEVER we adapt it to suit the circumstances of our lifes and sometimes we ignore the slightly more fluffy/bonkers babysteps --because we can and there ain't no one the boss of us

Ive spent 6+hrs turning my front room from hovel status to yes- you- may come- in -stranger status.its not show home by any means of the imagination but we can see floor and theres no ready to topple stacks of "stuff"
As it stands ive racked up another 3 binbags(total 6 plus zoolets have accrued 1 from their rooms)

So ive
Cleared under and behind 2 seat sofa
Located floor under computer table.cleared desk
Tidy tv cabinet.stray dvds/cds put away
Clear around fireplace.decluttered both sides
Under little table by other sofa
Cleared " crap out of sight dumping ground " corner
Pull out 3 seat sofa and clear under and behind
Stack most books off crumbling bookcase ready to dismantle it n take to tip
Clear under dining table

Mad run up n downstairs hauling boxes and bags of gifts from my room to cupboard understairs whilst DP took zoolets to corner shop(2mins away) for drinks

Also been out to pick up ordered kitten from garden centre n let zoolets look round
Pop sainsbo as DP wanted specifics for lunch after working last night n tired n hungry

to do
Clear dining table
Finish stack books and dismantle case ready for tip run

I am seriously flagging

Still not finish wrap gifts
Still not put up any decorations....

Cagliostro · 21/12/2017 18:27

I put a wash on this morning and that's about it. DS has been investigating the present pile but I still need to label some - basically a matter of deciding who each thing is from (as parents and grandma gave me money with which to choose something from them). A few more things to wrap but really should have it all done before Christmas eve except one thing which I'll only get that day (That's Not My Hedgehog from usborne seller friend).

Living room back at tip status currently but stairs are clear

Stilllivinginazoo · 21/12/2017 18:28

Xposts.thanks advice cag
DP convinced its all in my mind but at garden centre she was so excited looking at xmas lights etc n saying how fun it was even he was shocked how a 13 yo could be so childishly excited.shes still asking questions constantly about what are we going to do and is very urritable today as i cant give definative times how long it will take for me to ckear up.shes asked at least 20times when can we make and hang paper chains and i starting to feel both drained and like worst mum ever saying no but i need the space to make them and hang up before we start the process Sad

😁 foxes I was reading to coats thinking I would hide them in boot when I read on and LOL.

Child free zone here if anyone wants to visit. I had enough end of terms strops to last until January at school. And they all come to me. They even asked why Nurture wasn't on. Um that would be because you were in the hall at YOUR concert!

Well posted last cards to sisters( should have done it yesterday but feeling so unwell couldn't go the three miles to do it and thought it would be bigger than standard) and I think I have bought last few gifts. Not really planned but saw some things DD would like. After Gps went to drop off raffle prizes ( yeah all done! ) and had bowl of soup in the lovely cafe my favourite seat over the water was even free. Then pottered about village completely chilled out admiring cottages. Went to craft shop and trad craft. Then onto another village to butchers where I managed to last minute order Turkey breast with cranberry stuffing. I always order early Dec but slipped up by indecision of family and asking but not checking on DH.
GP has organised scan, couldn't feel bulge( that would be the fat I told him) and has told me what to do if it gets worse. Severe pain, vomiting seek medical help straight away. Will likely be emergency surgery if that happens, meanwhile paracetamol or stronger meds. Been in pain all day. Dull ache with some worse at times.

Very productive Ta Dahs.
Mine today. GP app.
Last few gifts. Post cards.
Ordered Turkey.
Bought self bunch of flowers, need to Nick holly from somewhere nearby tomorrow if up to a short walk. It is a village tradition.
Bought wedding present and card, as going to a wedding on Saturday.two loads washing including towels now in drier.
Swept vacuum downstairs.
To do.
Make something to eat. Might just have a sandwich.
Sort out decs for DD to put up. Put boxes back in shed.
Mop floor if I can be arsed .
Write two cards and wrap last presents.
Watch something Christmassy. Go to bed very early.could go now😔

Bowerbird5 · 21/12/2017 18:50

Zoo no wonder you are flagging. It made me tired just reading it. Well done you.
Your DD sounds delightful. I find getting them to repeat back to you what you said helps. If they can't remember then shorter instructions. Clocks help especially if on spectrum. Aspies like clocks.

My sitting room is almost at " you can come in" state. I did tidy this morning but have pile of school SEN to burn use it to light fire. Brought some stuff in from outing and now on sofa. Need to wrap and hide as DD stocking fillers( I did say she wasn't getting one but tradecraft had some lovely bits) not as much as she used to get but about six small gifts. She hasn't got much less than £50 because I was going to pay for IKEA bed to be delivered. It costs £35.

Stilllivinginazoo · 21/12/2017 19:56

Cant do anymore
Fed zoolets(cheese and spinach sandwich tinned peaches and yogurt)

How was it for DD in the end? Did she get some presents and a nice Secret Santa one? The nailks sound fab!
It was amazing. Only a few £ more than the others and worth every penny and more. Will deffo b doing it again!

Hey Cag how is the baby? Must be exciting it being her first xmas!

Hope you are feeling better SC.

Hope everyone is ok.

Got everything in my to do list list done other than picking dh up. Flights from Amsterdam were cancelled due to bad fog. He’d been 12 hours on a flight from China to then have to wait in a queue for two and a half hours to get another flight sorted. 16:20 tomorrow into London City instead of Southampton so will need to get a train down on the busiest day for travelling of the year (apparently). He then had to wait for a bus to take him to a hotel. He is not too chuffed.

Afreshturkeyplease · 22/12/2017 06:07

Morning all

Ds slept til 530

Dd up and down between 3 and 5. Currently asleep in my bed

Got a bit more wrapping done yesterday and picked up some shopping. Dp and i had a disagreement which put me in a bad mood probably because i was so tired so very little achieved last night

foxessocks · 22/12/2017 06:23

afresh my Ds up at 5.30 too! But he is currently screaming and crying I've had to put him down for five minutes as I'm going crazy!

Afreshturkeyplease · 22/12/2017 06:25

Ah no foxes! Brew ds quite happy however he may protest shortly when i go to brew up and he has to get off the sofa

Callmecordelia · 22/12/2017 06:27

On the home straight now for me, as DH off tomorrow until the 27th. I can't change the Ocado order now, so I'm going to stop looking at it or thinking about it. Couple more things to bake, and then I'm done.

DH does the wrapping here and needs a sharp stick.

Visit to father Christmas and ice skating tomorrow. I haven't been for years, I'm hoping I can snag a balance aid. DD is keen to try it. I hope it lives up to her expectations!

To do, washing as always, probably kitchen stuff, but thanks to MIL visit the house looks quite respectable. We're going out today to make sure it stays that way.

foxessocks · 22/12/2017 06:28

Oh and re the coats I guess we only need 4 of them out but we don't have much wardrobe space and its dh who has the most coats so they're big!! I think I'll have to try and convince him to have a bit of a turn out.'

foxessocks · 22/12/2017 06:29

Ds was happy watching in the night garden but then dh came in to say goodbye and all hell broke loose. I think he should just go to work with dh!

Afreshturkeyplease · 22/12/2017 06:44

Sounds like a good plan foxes Do you have empty suitcases? If so vac pack some coats and store in there!

You sound organised callme

I am quite organised this year. Some toys come in boxes that seem quite extravagant for the size of toy!

DH two jobs are writing Christmas cards for his work and wrapping, and he didn't listen to me and has wrapped all the ones we're giving to family between Christmas and New year and left all of DD's for Christmas day. Hmm

My tongue hurts from all the biting, but really... He has so little to do.

foxessocks · 22/12/2017 10:35

ta das
daily routine

to do
MORE food shopping argh
clothes pile
declutter / wrap presents main bedroom
Christmas tidying (the list is never-ending so I'll just try and achieve something, anything!!)
pack dc bags as they are sleeping at my parents house tonight (we have dh work do later)

I'm just doing that typical I've got loads to do, don't know where to start so I'm not doing anything thing that I always do Confused

Cagliostro · 22/12/2017 10:58

Story of my life there foxes

I think I'm going to start a Christmas 2018 memo on the iPad. I love choosing presents especially for the Caglets and do that easily in advance but I ignore all the other stuff and then get stressed over it for no reason and spend more than planned. I still don't know when we are seeing some people, obviously it's hectic for good reason this year but still it's a bit daft.

Bowerbird5 · 22/12/2017 11:28

Can I just say a big thank you to everyone who has asked after my health. You really are a lovely bunch of people. I am still in pain but able to potter about doing things. Taking some painkillers to dull it.

Ta Das today
Cleaned bathroom.
Cleaned hob.
Sorted some Christmas stuff. Put lights on outside small tree. Remembered that I had planned to buy cheap arch for over the gate to put lights on. Hmm! If I need to pick DD up there might be possibility.
Finished wrapping presents. I never, ever have this done. Usually Christmas Eve job. Will be able to watch film😄
Need to:
Find dining table. Cluttered with Christmas stuff.
