Morning.

Tomorrow is December 1st which means roll call for the fledglings and shiny new thread. It might seem a bit clicky but it is because it is a long term thread, park your arse in the naughty corner for moral support, natter and various delicious goodies. Oh and smidge of housework too.

We follow the flylady system HOWEVER we adapt it to suit the circumstances of our lifes and sometimes we ignore the slightly more fluffy/bonkers babysteps --because we can and there ain't no one the boss of us

Aaaaargh

Callmecordelia · 11/12/2017 06:22

I need to haul myself back onto the wagon.

To do
Home bleugh - but my version of it that has worked for the last couple of weeks.
Dust.
Vacuum
Clean both bathrooms
Wash kitchen floor
Washing
If I get time will change the beds, but after DD's sickness episode I never want to change any beds ever again. I expect I will though.
Clear out the residue in the slow cooker from the lovely stuffed pork joint we had yesterday evening. That truly is a bleugh.
Write the last few cards, and POST THEM.

No snow here, I can hear the rain outside. So DD is going to school. I got a cheap bag of limes and made two lime syrup loaf cakes yesterday. I think I will give one to a friend on the school run who is having a tough time.

DD's nativity play tomorrow. That means only one more day of practising her lines! Grin OTOH DH has swapped his day off to watch her, so after tomorrow no days off until the 20th. Sad

Brew for all, I am just off to make my second cup now.

Afreshturkeyplease · 11/12/2017 07:18

Morning all Brew

Think we are in for a rainy day here too!

Another bad night with ds. I am running on empty

MercuryRising · 11/12/2017 08:07

Morning. DC and DP have snow days and playgroup is cancelled so today we will be relaxing at home. SIL and her family came for dinner yesterdqy so the house is relatively. I am planning on spending the day catching up with laundry, wrapping presents and writing cards. I can't believe there are only 2 weeks until Christmas. I need to get organised Hmm

HillsBesideTheSea · 11/12/2017 08:19

We have snow but school is open Grin ds is going to hate it and I suspect the buses won't make it in so he will be cross and grumpy and shouting about how unfair it is by the time he gets home

Sorry about the links this weekend. I crashed badly and sunday was a fun game of visual migraine with muscle numbess Hmm Many thanks to SC for being so on the ball FlowersFlowers

Right must go give ds the bad news and make his lunch!

Afreshturkeyplease · 11/12/2017 10:49

School run was ridiculously slippy. Nearly fell over multiple times!

Since we got home ds has gone even more down hill so have made him a gp appointment. This is day 5 of constant dosing with nurofen so even though i am aware its likely just a viral infection i would like him checking over.

I cant do any housework as i cannot put him down without him breaking his little heart

Callmecordelia · 11/12/2017 10:49

Rain has turned to snow. It's not laying, but it will be pretty unpleasant doing the school run later. Must keep at it, one load of washing to put away, another one on....

Afreshturkeyplease · 11/12/2017 10:50

*day 4 not 5

Callmecordelia · 11/12/2017 10:50

X post Afresh - yes, do get him checked out. Poor boy, and poor you dealing with it. Flowers

hotwaterbottler · 11/12/2017 10:55

I started well this morning emptying the linen baskets into 2 loads worth of washing machine and then onto a tumble drier cycle. I have also washed up dishes and wiped down kitchen tops and emptied the bin. I now have a pile of laundry needing sorting but motivation has ditched me. Both the bathrooms could do with a clean too Blush

MercuryRising · 11/12/2017 11:02

I hate it when little ones are poorly Afresh. Cuddles are far more important. I hope he is on the mend soon.

Dp has gone out to do some driving work so I have done a couple of hours of ironing. Ds2 is napping now so I am sat cuddling him (I know he should be put down but they are only little for such a short time)

After nap time the plan is to fold laundry, prepare dinner (not sure what we are having yet), have a general tidy, wash and dry up, hoover then clean the bathroom. I don't feel I can justify doing nothing whilst dp is working.

foxessocks · 11/12/2017 12:55

Hi everyone, lots of ice here but not much snow anymore so school was open and we are at gymnastics now. Sorry to hear about poorly children, sending soothing BrewBear.

Ta da:-
Checked about broken tablets - annoyingly they both worked in the shop but at least didn’t have to pay to fix them.
Got our presents we had bought for DDs from Santa - annoyingly have bought the wrong thing of one item Xmas Angry. I guess at least I know and can swap it.
Found out I have booked childcare tomorrow which is completely unnecessary and a total waste of money Xmas Angry.

To do:-
Figure out how to become an organised person Xmas Confused.

Bedtime etc.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 11/12/2017 17:18

zoo, sorry to hear about your toothache too.

Cagliostro · 11/12/2017 17:27

Sorry about all the poorliness. This time of year is a right bugger.

I need to sort dinner. At least I didn't spend more money on ready meals (two things have seriously gone tits up since the birth, other than the house getting worse - my eating and my spending!)

DD did end up taking her melatonin yesterday as she remembered. She tried a while without but couldn't settle and i didn't have the heart to refuse. I am now glad she isn't doing a break now because her bully showed up at ice skating today FFS. She coped well and mostly avoided said bully by skating away as she is a fab skater but I can foresee some anxiety creeping in tonight.

Made it to baby rhyme too which was lovely as I saw old colleagues. Collected prescriptions and weighed myself, delighted with another 4lb loss yay!

Housework nil though. Need to sort dinner ugh

Stilllivinginazoo · 11/12/2017 18:03

Wheres our star gone?its not there here with the biscuits and cake and i wanted a star for cag on the weightliss and ready meal free and for dd on handling the bully

Best i can doGrin

HillsBesideTheSea · 11/12/2017 18:47

Christmas brings so many possibilities for stress imho cag I find ds is easier with a long break in the summer as there is more to do to distract and tire him out more naturally. You might find dd is the same. Sorry meant to mention yesterday but slipped my mind.

Zoo hope you can stave off the tooth issues with your salt baths. Tooth ache is no fun and absesses this time of year are the worse. Sad

Ds was off sick today Hmm but is well enough to be pushing
every button going so WILL be in school tomo even if I end up shouting myself hoarse Hmm He gets so argumentative when he doesn't sleep.

ta da
washing several loads
hand washing
put stuff into loft
tackle my room - over half done
locate office/craft room curtain and put up!
find wool for elongated a birthday present that has lingered on the to do list for too long Blush
Learn to chain ply - it didn't go so well BlushSad more practise needed Grin
tip stuff sorted and taken
bedding away
fabric into craft room

get started on christmas cards

Tea was roasted winter veg and some gammon. Clearing a lot of the veg that has hung out in the fridge a smidge too long. Everyone is feeling fat and content for now. Only down side is that I still have meat in the fridge that needs to be prepped and frozen as grab and go meals before the meat turns. And all I want to do is curl up and sleep Blush

Callmecordelia · 11/12/2017 19:03

Ta da
Loads of washing
Vacuumed
Cleaned bathrooms
Did hateful slow cooker clear out
Put away lots of washing

Did not wash kitchen floor or dust or post Christmas cards. I am not sure I care, having done the Rainbows pick up/drop off in foul weather. Am having a glass of wine in the dark while waiting for the toddler to drop off.

Wine for everyone!

Cagliostro · 11/12/2017 19:04

Yay stars thank you Xmas Grin

Yes I think you're right about this being the wrong time for a med break. The pediatrician had said try around Xmas so I thought it worth a try and forgetting it one night gave us a chance to do it (without her knowing and therefore getting a sort of placebo effect) but... Nope.

Made dinner just pasta and a decent sauce which is always my fallback. They are fussy gits anyway so hard to find stuff they'll eat. Snuck a tiny bit of tuna in there this time mwahaha.

Stilllivinginazoo · 11/12/2017 19:10

It appeara my crappy mobile wont let me scroll further to hunt for them
but santa is apparently getting me a new one that i assume i will also have no control over
Go be -8 here tonight so treacherous negotiating get down our icy riad for school tom(hopes this problem will magic itself away with my worsening toithache overnight)

HillsBesideTheSea · 11/12/2017 19:33

Not sure I dare look how cold it is due to be here tonight. I know I need to add about 30+ mins for digging my car out of the ice and get it going.

it is when there is snow that you realise you are a proper grown up Blush

Afreshturkeyplease · 11/12/2017 20:55

Bowerbird5 · 12/12/2017 05:25

Hi, -7 here on Monday morning not sure about today.

Well not much done on Sunday because I was out most of it. Cleaned bathroom Sat/ Sun, washing, meal made. Got glammed up, went to church then choir 1 practise then performance, helped with teas. Was out 1045 - 8:30pm, drink in pub then tattie pot wrote a few cards, then bed.
Monday: washing load done, went to work where very busy no morning break but ate lunch while supervising lovelies in my room finishing DT. Fun afternoon as yr 6 in performance so worked with all Yr 5s.😄
Cleaned up and out by 3:50 😳
Shopping on way home, tea and accidental nap, wrapped DDs presents before she saw them. Made stir fry, ate then out for Quiz Night(came 2 nd by 4 points) DDs train 90 mins late DH frozen so had to go to hotel to wait😆 DH had vacuumed and changed bed sheets ( hadn't iron cotton one) oh I stacked dishwasher in the morning as only half done and no shiny sink looking at you DH that left three pans in it on Mon.

Feeling for all of you trying to get organised but having little ones poorly. Hope they are better soon.
Today's plans:
Washing on, make sure I have card templates, tidy kitchen go to work. Busy day scheduled including lunchtime Art/ DT catch up children. Tidy bedroom, veggie tea. Clear front door area, put washing away.
