Order, Order! Do you have a little house of horrors? Welcome to the October Flylady thread where we follow the Flylady method for keeping our houses in order (along with some general chat and support). The monthly focus for October is paper clutter

I'll be posting links to the daily missions, daily focus and the zone cleaning - don't worry about the detailed zone cleaning if you haven't already decluttered, Flylady recommends decluttering first. Join us at any point this month Glitterball

I'll post the first October links tonight!

It's awfully quiet on here this week. Did MN implode again? Or are people just busy?

Cagliostro · 12/10/2017 12:04

I'm more Blah than Busy Blush not being doing too well really.

Soooo much laundry too - all built up over the weekend due to having to do extra bedding and towels, but then Tesco didn't deliver fabric conditioner so I'm getting some today in town and will have a lot of catching up to do.

I want to sleeeeep

Cagliostro · 12/10/2017 12:05

Been doing* see, can't even type!

Sandycarrots · 12/10/2017 16:42

Busy! Hope everyone doing ok.

Go steady Cag sorry you are feeling under par Flowers

Thanks for links when you are so under pressure Cotswold much appreciated!

Ouch Hills hope head ok!

Hope your cat is feeling better Zoo!

Goldenclaire/Hills agree about air fresheners but I retch when I go past scented candles in the supermarket so I have low tolerance of scented stuff I think. I use industrial quantities of clear vinegar at home for cleaning and find it really effective (very hard water area) and back up with bicarb when something really needs a scrub but agree with Golden that sometimes only bleach will do.

Speaking of which ...

Cagliostro · 12/10/2017 20:35

Day gone from bad to worse as the Caglets scratched a neighbours car on their bike. Accidental of course but oh dear god that is one expensive mistake

goldenclaire · 12/10/2017 20:56

Oooh that is not good Sad How expensive? Was your child caught or did they fess up?

Cagliostro · 12/10/2017 21:03

No idea about cost yet :( it only happened today so was definitely them as other kids would've been at school. DD is really upset as she knows it is going to cost shitloads. DS doesn't really seem aware of it at all although they both apologised to both neighbours

CotswoldStrife · 12/10/2017 21:59

It is quiet on here this week, where is the thread leader with benevolent motivation and the pointy stick?

Oh ...

Grin

Soz, should be back to normal (or what passes for normal) by late morning tomorrow. Got an appointment first thing to get out of the way and then the weekend is nearly with us - woo hoo!

Sorry to hear about the scratched car Cag hope it's not as bad as you fear. DH has used a franchised company to fix things like that, I'll PM you the name.

I recently found out how well vinegar cleans taps by accident, I was impressed the taps stayed shiny for ages! I want a bubble bath now GoldenClaire has mentioned it, preferably with a glass of wine to accompany the bubbles.

I had to clear the (f)utility room cupboard of doom and it wasn't pleasant Shock On the positive side, I seem to have power over the laws of Physics to fit things in to the cupboard space-wise, so it should all go back in easily Halo

Longtime · 12/10/2017 22:51

Hmmm I didn’t get much of my list done yesterday and didn’t even make one today.

Tadas

Ddog walked and to groomers,Dutch homework while waiting
Vacuumed
All washing done (some drying on clothes horse and a few bits in the machine waiting for a full load) - can’t remember the last time that happened!
Dw on
Bit of food shopping
Caught up with dfriend (does that count for a Tada?)
Car shopping with dh (still haven’t got one)

For the third time in as many months our phone line is down! No phone or internet or tv. They have already replaced the cables in the street. They can’t come out tomorrow so it’ll be Monday afternoon as we are going to the Netherlands for the weekend (rolling stones concert on Sunday evening).

I think I’ve admitted this before but I have a cleaning lady who normally comes for a few hours on a Friday. She came today this week so house is clean and dh’s shirts are ironed (with no effort from me ☺️ so not something I can put on the tada list!).

To do for Friday

Empty dw
Dutch class (all morning!)
Attempt to finish the books (😂😂😂😂)

Waves to everyone and hopes everyone plus dcs are feeling better in time for the weekend.

CotswoldStrife · 12/10/2017 22:52

[Pours Zoo a second cuppa]

Wow at Rolling Stones Longtime hope you have a great w/e!

Bummer about car Cag

Dh is back from travels and has the tv news on. I can't stand the telly on in the morning - ground floor quite open plan so no avoiding it - dd and I prefer a bit of quiet to ease in to the day. Still, if that's the only thing I have to whinge about, not doing too badly I spose ... Grin

Very busy weekend ahead! Prob won't be back on here so wishing you all a good 'un!

HillsBesideTheSea · 13/10/2017 07:32

Internet has been off here Hmm I finally started reading a new book I bought a while back.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 13/10/2017 08:41

Hello! Sorry to hear about scratches Cag. Have been AWOL as busy at work and working an extra shift today too. Always seems like a good idea at the time Confused. Plus my parents are coming this weekend. Time for some crisis cleaning tonight!

Cagliostro · 13/10/2017 09:10

Hi all. Thank you for the kind words. Had a full on sobbing snivelling meltdown over it all after everyone else was asleep - not just the car (at least the money is there) but it has been a really tough few days with the Caglets, sometimes it feels like they are getting more autistic by the day and their needs are just so draining sometimes. I know there are people here who get it and I'm very glad to be able to rant and hide in the haughty corner

Washing on having done 2 loads last night (advantage of being unable to sleep) so catching up quite well there at least.

goldenclaire · 13/10/2017 09:22

(hugs Cag) I hope you have a better day today sweet and a nice weekend.

sandy I always have the news on in the mornings. I like to know whats going on in the world as i start the day.
