Hello lovely fledglings
A bit knackered this morning and it's been a tough one. Have just dropped dd off white and shaking to an obligatory state aural exam poor sausage. She is good at the subject so no problem there but as luck would have it she had woken in the night with really cripplingly awful period pain and looks as white as a sheet. She is worried she is either going to faint or throw up on the examiner's shoes. I've dosed her up with appropriate meds, given her a heat pad, and told her (trying to sound as calm and confident as possible, that adrenalin would see her through) but I do really hope she will be ok. So unfair that girls have to put up with this ... .
Ta da:
unpacked bag
animals
emptied and filled dw
two loads washing in
breakfast for dd
ran dd to school
work e-mail
friend e-mail
firmed up estate agent appt
make a list of important qs to ask dh and get definitive answers for
Have a continuing "to do" list as long as my arm but can't really settle to anything until I have picked dd up and she is safe and sound back at home again so just having a quick
and catching up with thread ... .
Mumontherun I am so sorry to hear that your ds and dd both have whooping cough. I hope they (and you) are ok. There was quite a big outbreak of it here and in France over Christmas and NY (in adults as well as dc). I hate to say it but it is known as "the hundred day cough" over here. I do hope your dc recover much quicker than that.
Cotswold I hope your dd is feeling much better now and is recovering too. Whoo-hoo and
for mega tip run!!!! Even if it doesn't look like it, it will make a difference, I promise you! One tranche of decluttering often leads to another imho.
Zoo [snaffles a spoonful of left over shepherd's pie] that is a super-fantastic list you got through there despite feeling below par!
Had to chuckle over comment about returning house to human habitat as opposed to one designed for animals. I often think this about our place!! The furries are taking over frankly ... . Very
of Lil Zoo and archery lessons!! Fantastic!! Hope she had fun! And hope your kittens are OK today! [Fingers and paws crossed for them here.]
Rosa congrats on all the good progress made last week. Hope this week is going well too!
Some of us have a control journal and some of us don't. Tbh, now we are in the age of technology with various apps and similar things available, I think an oj is perhaps a little outdated as a concept now but as it happens I do happen to have one (constructed in a fit of enthusiasm years ago) although it has turned in to a multi-lingual "how to look after this house while we are away file" but has proved useful many times nonetheless. It does contain daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, six-monthly and annual routines but I don't really need to consult them very often nowadays as they have become second nature or the tasks are ignored. It also contains useful lists of emergency numbers such as next of kin, plumbers, vets, dog-sitters, doctors etc and instructions on how to care for our animals, how to lock up the house, and the foibles of the central heating/plumbing system etc, when rubbish is collected etc. It is really useful to have all of this info in one place because you can just hand it to house/pet sitters in one fell swoop and all the info they need is in there. Not so sure any more of its use as a cleaning organisation tool though ifyswim! I have an Organised Mum Family Calendar here
complete with stickers for all family appts and if something isn't listed on there it doesn't get done. And I have a notebook in my handbag for writing down tel numbers and appts when I am outside the house which get transferred to calendar when I get home.
Einstein Yes the news is simply awful isn't it?

Is that a bullet journal you are describing or your own version of it? I have been toying with the idea of starting one for ages. And sorry to hear you have been in pain
but you obviously haven't let it get in the way of your mahoosive to da lists;
.
Glad to hear assessment went ok-ish Cag despite the highlighting of other possible potential issues; hope you and dd feeling ok about it and that good things/support spring from it. And top marks for preparing a healthy lunch for yourself and the bump!
Looks as though you have been hugely active BluePheasant! Well done re: painting the kitchen. Glad to hear your dd's birthday and the carpet-laying went well! So sorry to hear your dd is ill now though. Hope she feels better soon. Loving the thought of sweet peas!! I have never been able to grow them very successfully. Intend to have another go next year though!
Speaking of sweet peas - yay - lovely to "see you" Whoknows and don't blame you for gardening rather than choring; so much more enjoyable, creative and productive, especially in this weather! Profitez! (I still haven't had time to re-establish potager at wreck2 but will be asking for advice when I do!!)
Foxes hope your ds continuing to give you slightly less interrupted nights! Well done re: paperwork/desk decluttering. I did something similar last month but decluttered papers in to large cardboard box (which now needs sorting out)
. Not very sensible really!
Mermaids I think you earn a
and extra minute points for Flying at work. Extremely noble of you to tackle the work fridge!!
Afreshstart oh no! Sorry to hear your little one has a cold too! And knowing your resilience/general fortitude, I am certain "shit hole status" will not remain for very long!!
and
Toostressy Wow I think a
is definitely deserved for giving up sleep in order to declutter! Very impressive! And thanks for links to other threads; I'm interested to look at them as KonMarie did not do it for me either. Found her a bit barking tbh! Was it my imagination or did she really recommend storing carrots upright in the fridge at one point?
Hope your cold is better Purple
Sorry cannot scroll anymore - apologies to anyone I have inadvertently missed - big wing flaps to all!
