Are you are any of the following? Can you be described as a clutterbug? Are you a hoarder, in a mess, untidy, disorganised, lazy with housework that has lead to something that you now feel unable to deal with. If you are ill and not coping with the housework. If you are emotionally attached to items for whatever reason. If you cannot just ask someone in for a cuppa at a moments notice or dread the meter reader asking for access.

Are you nodding whilst reading any of these words? If you have a combination of any or all of these things or something completely different, please join us. No one here will judge you. We have something in common and we have a common goal. We share our ideas and we share our disappointments no matter how big and our celebrations no matter how small. We cheer one another along and drag the drowners from the depths of despair.

Join us; we don't bite :) Welcome to thread number 3.

Thanks :) upstairs is just the dumping ground downstairs looks fine just a few areas of hidden well mess that needs sorting. Think im bein spurred on by thinking less mess is less homes for spiders lolx

Solo · 07/08/2017 00:18

Nothing done today except a wash load but, yesterday I did clean the sink area in the kitchen and sprayed down the cooker top (finishing it off today) and washed up the hand wash only stuff (pans, kitchen knives and bakers) and filled and ran the dishwasher. Hoping to find the energy and motivation tomorrow (Monday) to get much more done!

Well done on all the wins everyone!

Pain slowly easing, thanks all.

I'm hoping for Monday motivation too Solo. I tend to whack some funk and soul on the radio courtesy of the Craig Charles show on 6music, and get a shift on.

I'm feeling very antisocial at the moment, and I've done a full day out today and it's wiped me out. I can't do people.

Tomorrow there will be more clearing. I'm aiming to get more of my room sorted. One bag at a time.

Betsy86 · 07/08/2017 22:29

Glad the pains easing! Im the same atm feeling antisocial aswell! I think iv sold another bag of DDs clothes though so hopefully one bag down tommorow.
Its soft toys iv got loads of that need to go now really lol.
How did your monday sort out go?xx

Cagliostro · 07/08/2017 22:57

Hi all. I've done nowt this last few days. Silica gel packets arrived today though so I can start cleaning and packing up some board games to free some space up.

Solo · 08/08/2017 01:07

I spent 5 hours + on the kitchen today. It still looks terrible but, some parts look okay! I need to work faster.

Babieseverywhere · 08/08/2017 08:54

Solo Well done. I bet five hours of cleaning has made a big difference to your kitchen. Don't be down on yourself, speed does not matter, heading in the right direction does!

Solo · 08/08/2017 10:25

Thanks Babies but, it's a tiny dent. The place is in a dreadful state and I wish it was just dirty ~ that would be easier to deal with. I'm going to get going shortly and do more. I need to find a plastic storage box or two...

How is everyone else doing? :)

Still coughing like mad here. So have done nothing.

We definitely need a new fridge and a bed (currently we sleep on a mattress on the floor - not great with growing bump and achy knees especially when needing to pee a million times a night :o). Not right this minute but definitely before baby arrives. Seriously need to sort the kitchen and bedroom in order to facilitate this. Ugh.

Cagliostro · 08/08/2017 10:56

Solo don't worry about speed. You've done 5 hours of work which is better by far than 5 hours of nothing!

IncyWincyGrownUp · 08/08/2017 11:09

I wanted to go out today for some odds and ends, but the rain is horrendous and I'm not feeling the love of being drenched.

I should be working on my room, but I feel so weary it's not real.

Solo · 08/08/2017 11:20

Cag could you get a bed frame from freecycle for now? At least it wouldn't cost and would help in the short term until you get a new one. Hope your cough improves soon.

Incy you are obviously not in the south; we have dry and bright here.

I will get going soon and do more but, Dd has a couple of activities today but, they can be done later in the day.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 08/08/2017 19:19

Yorkshire Solo and it's been persistently precipitating since first thing.

FlyingJellyfishintheAttic · 08/08/2017 22:27

Managed to squeeze in half an hour more decluttering. I should have decluttered attic by lunchtime tomorrow as hild free tomorrow AM. So me and DH going to skip/ donate the big pile of mess on Friday then attic will be clear for conversion.

I'm so excited!

Now we've finally gotten to this point the rest of the house will follow.

Solo · 09/08/2017 01:43

Did a bit more today but, not nearly enough.

Incy, me Mam's from Yorkshire! :)

Attic that's great news Thanks

Busy day here! Still a tip but, loads of paper waste and plastics...Need to take clothing to cash 4 clothes/charity/rag bank.
Sorted my double shelf full of tinned stuffs and I had been using loads up and not replenishing so have got through some of it which is great!
Load of washing done and dish washer on.
Dd has been quite helpful today.

I am not normally this efficient but over the last few weeks I have had a really good sort out of all our wardrobes.
They aren't perfected but I have really thinned out mine and the kids. They the DC's are organised for school in Sept with uniforms shoes socks/tights, stationary etc. Mainly because we return for holiday the day before school starts.
I have also put loads of stuff on eBay, taken some down to the charity shop and sorted some out a bag of clothes for my sister. I have even enlisted DH's help (he's got the bug now) and put some roof bars and roof bar feet (that don't fit the new car), a suit that doesn't fit him anymore and an old tent.
The house feels better and I feel more organised and even better I have made over £500 on EBAY!!!

Babieseverywhere · 11/08/2017 07:58

Well done Bright Eyes..that is a lot of money!

I haven't done anything, except buy a wooden vase in the sale at Wilcos, lol.

That said DH is home on holiday from work plus all the children are having birthdays, so we are having birthday days out and so much cake !

So I will step up with housework and healthy eating in a fortnight or so ;)

FlyingJellyfishintheAttic · 11/08/2017 08:40

The attic is clear! So now nagging DH to do the work. I need him to finish the eaves we have for storage so I can put things away.

Rest of house needs a quick tidy (far behind due to DD and work). So today is tidy up, chill out time too.

Brighteyes27 · 11/08/2017 10:44

Babieseverywhere - I haven't managed the healthy eating yet. But DH was made redundant a couple of months ago so. It's to raise some cash for holiday spends and easier with him around and older DC.

Babieseverywhere · 11/08/2017 10:54

Oh my goodness the attic has finished !

I bet you feel so good. Congratulations :)

I have so far to go :( But you have inspired me to get up and clean the kitchen.

FlyingJellyfishintheAttic · 11/08/2017 16:44

Babies I'm so relieved! We still have to do converting for bedroom but the clutter is gone which is such a big part. DH said attic will be finished within a month! ie a fully function bedroom.

You can do it Babies! In the end I did an hour here and there rather than seeing it as a big job and once I took that pressure off it made such a difference.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. DD still in nursery for a while so today I tidied up, went shopping, nice pub lunch and a cheeky glass of wine (well half glass).

IncyWincyGrownUp · 11/08/2017 23:42

I'm hoping to get an hour or so of sorting done tomorrow. My youngest isn't feeling that great so I'm going to park him in front of a film and see what I can get done.

Solo · 12/08/2017 01:11

Wow! You are all so busy! And Attic :) the attic is cleared?! Brilliant!
Brighteyes that is fantastic! £500 is a massive amount of money, well done! Well done to everyone with big and small wins Thanks.

I have been busy today too though you wouldn't know it! I've still so far to go but, I have got rid of more paper (!) and plastics. I found myself looking at a glass jar saying to myself "that's a lovely shaped jar" Hmm and gave myself a talking to and put it outside for recycling...I mean, a jar!!
I got into the loft and got a load of carrier bags out and have gone through them which sounds daft I know but, I can give a lot of them to a small chemist shop and put the bag for life types in the boot of the car for when I forget to put the fabric bags back in there. I got a pair of boots out that will fit Dd this winter and have ascertained that there are no more clothes up there. Dd did lots of weeding the front garden (still more to do) and I need to find a good but, cheap weed killer to try to keep it down.
