Hello all and welcome to the March Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier. Jump in where you are.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others :).

Since last month seemed to be ok I'll follow the same format of personals throughout the day (or in the evening if I haven't had a chance in the day) and links in the evening. Please, though, let me know if you want me to change anything or if I have posted anything wrong.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks again SC and Cotswold as I have basically copied your notes again.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website www.flylady.net - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

You can post what we you done (ta das) and any to do lists if you want to- I definitely find this helpful.

Morning all. OMG zoo what a horrible thing to happen with the scissors Shock

Busy day here today, DH is relaunching kids home ed sports class after long winter break (and he's currently with his personal training client so he will barely be home today). Normally I'd stay home but it's the first session and we have a lot of newbies (including people who've only just taken their kids out of school so they don't know anyone else). I will then have minimal time at home before the Caglets have optician appts in town (DS' first eye test, he's 7! Blush) at 2pm then dashing back after - no time to choose the glasses I'm pretty certain DD will need full time now - as two more pupils at 4 and half past. Which I'm stressing about as they've both only been here once and the place is looking awful today.

I also need to phone the ballet school DD might be joining as we have a rare opportunity for her to try a free class tonight without rearranging any pupils.

Aaaaargh!!! Feathery wing flops to all!

Afreshstartplease · 17/03/2017 07:59

One of my DC wears glasses full time cag I don't think he even notices them most of the time until they go crunch and break

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 17/03/2017 08:00

Morning all, feeling very slow this morning! At least all nearly ready to leave the house now to do school run.

Thanks for all the lovely welcomes ladies, this seems a very fun & friendly place to be!!

@SweepingChange that sounds tough! How old is your DD? Is she old enough for you to give her some tools and take a step back to save your sanity? For instance could you print her off something like this www.flylady.net/i/pdf/student_coj.pdf and just leave it on her bed with a chocolate she likes or something and a card saying your proud of her and don't want to nag and know that she is now old enough to take control of her own routines and organisation and hopefully this will help? Also do you have a big calendar with loads of room to write on? The flylady one is great but shipping adds up, I have one called 'organised mum' which is a very similar set up. If she has her own colour for the calendar (and so do other family members) and it's hung visibly in a high traffic area like the kitchen - then if she or you write the test day or whatever else in her colour so it stands out then it means you can't be accused of either nagging nor lack of information (as that situation does not sound like you can win!!). Hugs.

I have huge amounts of 'bits' to do today, lots of loose ends that need tying off with work, need to pop to the chemist, butcher, bank, post office, & tesco to swap some substitutions DP accepted whilst I was showering after aquanatal class... Also the car needs cleaning as it's getting beyond gross and I need to hoover and clean the kitchen and I have no freaking idea how I'm going to do it all but everything will be fine. Only just making a start due to being up in the night with sickness and numerous needs to pee whilst baby tap dances on my bladder lol.

Castlelough · 17/03/2017 12:20

Daily routine done
Made a hot lunch and tidied up after put dishwasher on
Took a bag to recycling bins at the park
Food shop online

Bathroom floor

Make dinner
Declutter bag and purse and car

foxessocks · 17/03/2017 16:26

I did a quick blitz and did everything apart from dinner which is ongoing and the car. Decluttered my dds chest of drawers. Cakes are looking good. Actually nearly done a whole to do list!!

Now dinner, children to bed and possibly a gin and tonic!

Cagliostro · 17/03/2017 18:49

Big hugs castle mastitis sounds horrendous :(

DD is indeed going to be wearing glasses full time now! Her prescription is now stronger and the optician did say it's still my call as to whether I make her wear them all the time or not. But she understands my reasoning for saying that I will - she's had them to wear 'when needed' for a few years now but very rarely does. I think she finds it hard to adjust to wearing them now and again so having them on all the time will in the long run be more consistent and therefore easier on her (sensory issues). DS on the other hand has perfect vision! The optician was awesome with the Caglets, they ended up talking about weird cosmetics people used throughout history 😂

DH's sports club went brilliantly too, it was the first younger age group (ks2) of the year and we had 5 new kids attending as well as all our regulars. Sooo proud of him, the kids had a blast and a few have already said they'll be back next week!

I also got the living room vaguely presentable. Some stash and dashing involved.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 17/03/2017 19:53

Ta da:-
DDs in bed
5 more mins decluttering so actually managed 15 mins today

To do:-
Phone parents
New job forms
Make tea

Here is the daily summary for Saturday ... .

All information also available on the Flylady website here.

The flight plan should update every day.

Tomorrow will be our last day in Zone 3 (if you do zone work at weekends that is!) : the bathroom and one other room.

Spend 15 mins (or as much as you can manage if you can't do 15) decluttering in Zone 3.

When you have finished decluttering, the detailed cleaning list (if you are at that stage) for Zone 3 is here.

No missions because it is the weekend - yay!

Daily reminders (radio show times are probably not accurate for UK but can listen to previous shows/podcasts) are here.

Fyi: we will be starting in the master bedroom next week again 19th-25th.

The daily focus for Saturday is: family fun!.

Baby-step no 18 - have a look at Flylady's eleven commandments and ignore number 10 ; you are allowed to be grumpy while choring imho Wink

March habit is getting dressed to shoes here.

Flykids mission: here.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good morning!

Thank you Zoo - a v kind interpretation of my complete lack of organisational prowess - but as my late strict Irish Catholic ma used to say, "child, the path to hell is paved with good intentions ..." Blush [Grin Have a good day at community cafe - rather like your oldest volunteer, dh has an aunt in uk who helps in a day centre for isolated pensioners - she is 89! Grin

Waves to Emenem good to hear your dh is coming back from NZ today!

Hope you are felling a bit better now Castle

Mermaids sounds as if you had v productive day yesterday, and great to be able to hang washing outside again.

Strong coffee for Afreshstart!

Waves to Toostressy and everyone else!

Dh and I have actually managed to have 40 mins of uninterrupted conversation over breakfast this morning while DD slept in. Felt like such a treat; not often nowadays are we in same place at same time (and he rarely with time to spare!) And phone always ringing.

Our wagons will be rolling again in half an hour, off to land without Wi-Fi, and I will be staying on to sort roofers for a few days (with strategic nips back in between - only short journey door to door) so signing out of thread for a bit again!

Toodle pip and happy flying one and all!
