Ho, ho, ho - welcome to the December Flylady thread. We'll be following the Flylady method and enforcing order on our houses. Feel free to join in. The monthly focus for December is pampering Xmas Grin

I'll be posting links to the daily missions, daily focus and the zone cleaning - don't worry about the detailed zone cleaning if you haven't already decluttered, Flylady recommends decluttering first.

You can probably already tell my personal level of dedication to the internet, not the house as I've looked up the Christmas smileys specially. No washing up was done in the making of this post.

I'll post the first December links tonight!

Cag, brilliant newsWine Xmas Grin.

Purple, so many options! Wine, chocolate, magazine, DVD, even jewellery or make up.

To tired for lists. Got a bit done today. Not enough and too tired to carry on now!

Cagliostro · 09/12/2016 22:42

Thanks all. Really pleased. I know it would have been a different story if we hadn't done so much in the last couple of weeks, it made a huge difference. But the stuff we couldn't fix they just accepted as wear and tear, they know we are a family in a small house and we've been here nearly 9 years in which time they've not had to do much at all :o

Also the council have got in touch and so we are moving forward with the whole housing debacle.

Anyway tomorrow DH is off so I really want to enjoy that as we've had so much stress lately. I want to start wrapping presents too as I've been putting it off to get the cleaning done and I LOVE wrapping presents :) I just stuck the Christmas cards up on the door which we haven't bothered to do for a few years. Anyway then I hope we can carry on the good work. Still got loads of clutter stashed around the place :o

CotswoldStrife · 09/12/2016 22:59

Woo, go Cag! Well done, all that hard work has paid off!

Precious little house progress here, have booked some things for when DD finishes school next week and wiped down the front of the kitchen cabinets (bit late with that mission). Tonight after tea I mused aloud 'what have I done today' and DD efficiently managed to list a few things I'd done for her - at least she noticed! She seems much brighter today.

Will post the links - the one thing I do in advance, I prepped a whole week ahead last weekend so I could just copy and paste each night! House - nah! Links - I'm on it ...

The daily summary for Saturday (also available on the Flylady website at flight plan which should update automatically each day.

**

Baby-step no 10 - using a timer (this helps to keep me focused more than I’d like to admit!)

No zone work or missions at the weekends – woo hoo, enjoy!

The daily focus for Saturday is: family fun day

The monthly habit for December is pampering!

Super Cruise Christmas mission –occasionally--

Morning everyone Brew.

Off to a (child's) birthday party today and it is a bit of a drive and we are going back to the friends' house afterwards. Looking forward to it.

To do:-
DC up and dressed etc
Breakfast
Dishwasher
Laundry
Change sheets
Studying - really must do a bit - 15 mins at least
Xmas prep - feel a bit lost with it so might check out the Xmas mission and need to sort out a gift voucher
5 mins decluttering

If time:-
Xmas cards!!!!

Happy weekend everyone.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 10/12/2016 07:06

Ha, just checked and the Christmas mission is baking. Never going to do that in a million years (I am a terrible cook) so that's one mission checked off with no effort :) . Will look at some of the older super cruise missions later.

celeste84 · 10/12/2016 07:40

I think I might need to rejoin this page as I need to blitz the house today!

Stilllivinginazoo · 10/12/2016 07:56

Welcome back Celeste
Once you're done naughty corner has snacksWink
and we don't have to make things spotless to hang out here

celeste84 · 10/12/2016 08:13

Can i have a naughty step instead of a naughty corner? I need to sit down.

Afreshstartplease · 10/12/2016 08:36

Celeste I will keep you company!

House looking slightly like a the local tip ...

PurpleDaisies · 10/12/2016 08:57

Today is finally Christmas shopping day. We're basically aiming to get the whole thing done (apart from food) and get a tree on the way home. I'm going to spend my bonus twenty on gluwein and food from the Christmas market in town (dh is driving!).

I will come to the naughty step-I did buy some posh (for Aldi) salted caramel popcorn as a stocking filler for dh but in a moment of weakness I ate it...

PurpleDaisies · 10/12/2016 08:58

And the house is a bomb site with painting stuff everywhere.

Well done on the inspection cag and hope the housing get sorted ASAP. That would be a seriously good Christmas present.

CotswoldStrife · 10/12/2016 09:37

The super cruise mission only changes every few days - perhaps I should take that off and add them as I get the emails. I need to do some baking towards the end of next week for school.

Need to kick the front room into shape so we can fit the tree in this weekend. This year I'm thinking of going to a local-ish farm where you can pick the tree and they cut it down for you!

Living room toys tidy

All DC are up fed and dressed

I too have Christmas shopping to do however I need to get out of the house with none of the older three DC and back in without them seeing anything ....

Sweepingchange · 10/12/2016 12:15

Afternoon!

Hope everyone enjoys their shopping\ tree finding expeditions!

Big wave to welcome back Celeste!

Cotswold am impressed by you doing links a whole week in advance. I tried that once but got totally confused.M y middle aged brain can only handle a day in advance.

We are all still in a state of proper flu misery here. I was hoping that we would start to feel a bit better this morning (I wanted to do some deep cleaning in kitchen) but if anything, we are feeling a bit worse. V unusual for all three of us to be ill st once. Heigh ho.

foxessocks · 10/12/2016 12:55

Sorry you're still feeling poorly sc I guess at least it's out of the way before Christmas??

Ok smugness alert...I've finished my Christmas shopping and we made some festive biscuits this week (unfortunately dd chose bubblegum icing and they were pretty hideous but we enjoyed the process and that's what matters...?!)

I've had a child free morning today as I went to a Christmas market with my mum and left the kids with dh. Dd has gone off to grandparents for the weekend now so just got baby ds and we're off for a Christmas lunch shortly. So not much flying going on today and I'm trying to ignore the ever increasing ironing pile argh. I may be organised with Christmas but my house is looking a bit of a state to be frank. Perhaps I could pull up a chair in the naughty corner? I can offer posh fudge from the market this morning...

Cagliostro · 10/12/2016 13:25

Hi everyone. I've spent the morning in my bedroom sorting Christmas presents and have started wrapping some. Going to head downstairs and put a wash on now.

I was hoping to make the most of today but am really tired after a busy few days and the stress caught up with me I think!

Sweepingchange · 10/12/2016 14:50

Thanks Foxes"wouldn't mind but have just recovered from a bad cold and a gastric bugBefore that I had a and back! Fed up of being ill now but as you say, would be far worse if it was nearer Christmas itself

Great that you got some adult time and enjoyed the Christmas market this morning! And whey hey to festive biscuits!

Cag you deserve some down time today! Hope you can find a way to stay in your current housing xxx

Afreshstart good luck sneaking the presents back in!

Enjoy the gluwhein purple! Btw so sorry to hear the news about your gp down thread, great though that he\she has such a loving home for the short time he has left x

Hope your dc feeling better now still

And at kiddies who can't keep secrets Toostressy Grin

Sorry on tiny tablet in bed so scrolling rather random

Sweepingchange · 10/12/2016 14:54

That should have read "arf" at kiddies who can't keep secrets!!

(Getting back in my basket now)

Sweepingchange · 10/12/2016 14:56

How do you spell gluwhein??!

Cagliostro · 10/12/2016 15:38

In all honesty SC we don't really want to stay here long term! It's just too small. So the ideal would be to be housed somewhere by the council - the lady DH spoke to seemed to think we had a good chance of moving up a priority band because of my health problems, as well as the rent increase. She said it could still take 6 months from then but I'm hoping it will be the last winter in this house, it's freezing as the heating is crap. Anyway we have to fill in forms and then if they need further evidence we will ask doctors for letters etc.

Anyway lots of presents wrapped today. Haven't done much else bar putting a wash on. DD is full of cold and is devastated she can't go to her dance presentation tomorrow :(
