Ho, ho, ho - welcome to the December Flylady thread. We'll be following the Flylady method and enforcing order on our houses. Feel free to join in. The monthly focus for December is pampering Xmas Grin

I'll be posting links to the daily missions, daily focus and the zone cleaning - don't worry about the detailed zone cleaning if you haven't already decluttered, Flylady recommends decluttering first.

You can probably already tell my personal level of dedication to the internet, not the house as I've looked up the Christmas smileys specially. No washing up was done in the making of this post.

I'll post the first December links tonight!

hi, to all who know me [knew me].

I'm checking in just to be impressed at how much everyone manages to get done atm [felt a bit sick when you mentioned baking Whoknows I have given up all attempts at holistic christmas stuff Blush

and to say I am hoovering under the bed at the moment. All flylady principles abandoned and I have just been massively decluttering over the last few weeks, having finally accepted that there is far too much stuff in the house and it will never EVER get clean if I have to keep moving stuff around in circles [ever increasing it feels]

So have enjoyed being ruthless. No madeleine moulds, no spare textiles, no manky old towels for emergencies, random Xmas decs binned. About 5 big trips to dump and I had a professional declutterer to kickstart me for a few hours, well worth the money, because when someone is standing next to you and the clock is ticking you start being decisive Hmm

So much left to do though. But I am ever hopeful!! Atm I am binning ds1's gsce work, whilst keeping a few revision "bits" for twins who are in Year 10. Everything I throw away makes me feel lighter.

Dh needless to say is very grumpy at the process and wants me to do real cleaning and tidying. However, not such a fool that he doesn't notice a slight improvement to the house now that some things are gone and there is room in cupboards to store other things which were previously hanging around.

knittingwithnettles · 20/12/2016 21:29

Dh has wrapped all the presents so far, and the dcs too. There is a big pile under the tree. I've written some cards and and ordered some presents and that is it! Dh had to beg me to buy some Christmas food tomorrow; he is beginning to think there is not going to be any..Hmm I am hosting for 12 on Christmas Eve, but possibly can get away with something simmered..

Ds1 has just finished his exams (mocks) but not sure whether he has got through to next stage of his A levels (he needs C in three subjects) Dd was so tired when she came home from school today (last but one day) that she fell asleep before supper fully clothed. Ds2 has been off since Friday (at another school) and enjoying seeing friends and just being lazy lazy (although he has carried hoover around house for me and been quite cheerful)
