My house/Zoflora

1000 replies

TheLionQueen · 20/10/2016 11:28

Posting here for traffic.
My house is a bit horrid. I have pets and a messy DH (who does get on board when I have a proper 'spruce' but doesn't notice the daily grime). I can keep on top of genuine rubbish but clutter builds easily. I know nobody can sort this out for me and I am working on it.
What bothers me most is smell. Although it's clean ish, it doesn't smell fresh. I do open windows for a bit every day.
I bought some miracle potion Zoflora yesterday and already mop the floors with it. I want to know what I can do with it as almost like a reed diffuser/air freshener?
I don't put the heating on much (have a log burner) so don't think putting it on radiators would work. I do hoover relatively regularly so can try the cotton wool trick. Anything else I could try? Is it really safe to spray on curtains? Any other tips for a pet household for smell? Thanks in advance!

It's gorgeous on towels and bedding Lion. I like Twilight Garden or Linen for that. The fragrance lasts for a few days. Even on DP's pillowcases, with his stinky man head smell.

SleepFreeZone · 21/10/2016 22:34

Omg my car do needs a clean. I wish I had all these choices of scent available to me 😢

TheLionQueen · 21/10/2016 23:09

What is it with men and their stinky scalps? DH swapped our pillows last week when making the bed and I knew straight away.
Twilight Garden sounds nice- what sort of fragrance is it?

Adore this stuff, and this thread! MN at its best! Grin

OnceMoreIntoTheBleach · 21/10/2016 23:31

How big is the big bottle? I buy from asda and biggest bottle there is 250ml, currently £2 cherry blossom

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 21/10/2016 23:45

I used to use it to get rid of the smell of vomit if ds puked Grin

I'm put off by the warnings on the side of the box to use it too regularly.

NeedATrim · 22/10/2016 00:01

Blurgh, linen fresh smells like cheapo 80's aftershave but hyacinth and winter morning smell pretty. I reaaly want to smell bluebell, twilight, cherry blossom, country garden - well nearly all mentioned previously but I'm having difficulty in tracking down these scents in my locak stores. I may actually buy online. I've no other option.

Squirmy65ghyg · 22/10/2016 07:15

Hello.

There is a blog, bleach and tonic. Com.

I may have stayed up til 1 am reading it.

ShatnersBassoon · 22/10/2016 07:41

How big is the big bottle?

500ml from Wilko, half price at £2.25 at the moment.

pleasestopsnoring · 22/10/2016 09:05

I need some in my life I think
Does anyone buy on line?

SoupDragon · 22/10/2016 09:05

I bought my first bottle from Amazon.

pleasestopsnoring · 22/10/2016 09:12

Also are they all sweet smelling? I prefer more earthier smells

Crunchymum · 22/10/2016 09:30

Would it work in a Henry hoover bag? And is it just literally a drop?

You can put it in the washing machine? With clothes? My mind is blown.

NeepNeepNeep · 22/10/2016 09:35

Heman Dishwasher!!! Why didn't I think of that. Genius.

Goofy Rose is my favourite too. I also like to coordinate my perfume with my Zoflora

NeepNeepNeep · 22/10/2016 09:40

Heman and Lion Queen What is it with stinky man heads?! He is ruining my pillows. I might add some Zoflora to his shampoo...

I think linen is overrated too Wink I am organising a road trip/bus holiday to track down rarer scents. You can find coupons in the newspaper.

pleasestopsnoring · 22/10/2016 09:44

Thanks soup will have a look

NeepNeepNeep · 22/10/2016 09:44

Squirmy Thanks for the blog tip. I have found my goal in life. A birthday card from Zoflora.

PinkissimoAndPearls · 22/10/2016 09:51

< puts head in hands>

You can just hoover the zoflora-ed cotton wool ball up.

Why didn't I think of that? I actually opened the Hoover (this necessitated a call to my mother for instructions Blush) and spent ages trying to squeeze the ball in the gap where the Hoover thing attached to the bag.

In fairness, my mother obviously didn't think of just hoovering the damn thing up either.

I'm so embarrassed. But thought I would take one for the Z Team here and share it with you.

To balance my ineptitude, may I suggest if anyone has an old magic tree or similar in their car, soak it with (diluted) Zoflora and...voila!

PinkissimoAndPearls · 22/10/2016 10:17

I have just had the following conversation with DH via text as he is downstairs and I'm still in bed

Me: "when you put a scented cotton wool ball in the Hoover bag how do you put it in?
DH: "through the hole in the bag"
Me :"no! You can just hoover it up!!l"

About two minutes later I heard the sound of the Hoover Grin

MN is truly a public service.

HemanOrSheRa · 22/10/2016 11:05

Pinkissimo Grin.

I've got a Henry vacuum Crunchymum I just put a couple of drops onto a cotton wool pad (or I up end the bottle on to the pad, a bit like you would with nail polish remover) and suck it up into the hoover! Then when it stops smelling nice just do the same again.

MrTCakes · 22/10/2016 12:49

Ok i'm ready.

My house/Zoflora
babynugget · 22/10/2016 12:55

Oh MrT did you not learn from my rookie errors? One cannot simply line ones Zoflo's up and take a pic, one must display them in an appropriate manner. Have you no doilies you could stick under them or a nice wicker basket or something? I am currently fashioning a macrame Zoflo holder to hang from the roof in the corner of my kitchen for just this purpose. neep will be having a word with you soon.

ClaudiaNaughton · 22/10/2016 13:02

No, MrTCakes you're not ready. Please look back at NeepNeep's patented basket display. She's already pulled up another poster for a
wretched haphazardly put together any old how box selection.

fuzzyfozzy · 22/10/2016 13:02

I too opened up my hoover to bing some in, sighs at my own thickness!
