My house/Zoflora

1000 replies

TheLionQueen · 20/10/2016 11:28

Posting here for traffic.
My house is a bit horrid. I have pets and a messy DH (who does get on board when I have a proper 'spruce' but doesn't notice the daily grime). I can keep on top of genuine rubbish but clutter builds easily. I know nobody can sort this out for me and I am working on it.
What bothers me most is smell. Although it's clean ish, it doesn't smell fresh. I do open windows for a bit every day.
I bought some miracle potion Zoflora yesterday and already mop the floors with it. I want to know what I can do with it as almost like a reed diffuser/air freshener?
I don't put the heating on much (have a log burner) so don't think putting it on radiators would work. I do hoover relatively regularly so can try the cotton wool trick. Anything else I could try? Is it really safe to spray on curtains? Any other tips for a pet household for smell? Thanks in advance!

Cherry Blossom??????????
I need to win the euro millions, create anew underground lab and kidnap the Zoflora scientific team. * Dreams of night scented stock zoflora *

BuggerOffDailyMirror · 17/11/2016 06:35

I went a bit mad spraying the radiators with winter morning last night, poor DP came in from work and nearly got knocked out Blush

I've made up 3 spray bottles with different concentrations (neat, a 50/50 and the recommended 1:40) so the bathroom got a good dose of 50/50 last night and I cleaned up after dinner and did the kitchen skirting with 1:40. Has anyone else discovered that a 1:40 mix is bloody brilliant at getting marks and stains off paint work?? It cleans it without lifting the paint!

PrancerForHoney · 17/11/2016 07:38

There's somebody I suspect is on this thread who has posted up photos on the Zoflora Appreciation Facebook group of there cocktails. I keep meaning to try them for myself.
BuggerOffDailyMirror
How are you doing now? I followed your thread from the start.
Bet the Fail don't lift this thread!!GrinWink

DillDongMerrilyOnHigh · 17/11/2016 07:39

Might try it on the skirting boards today BuggerOff

Was just checking I hadn't hallucinated Cherry Blossom by looking on the Wilkos website, and there's an Orchid one! I must have it!

TheLionQueen · 17/11/2016 08:32

I like the sound of the grapefruit one- I think I like the fruity ones better than the floral.
I'm going to try it on paint work today BuggerOff I've noticed some mould spores/damp marks on the bedroom walls Sad so hoping it gets rid of them and transforms the musty smell too. Bloody winter.

You can get the pink grapefruit one in Savers! I saw it with my own eyes! I didn't buy it though because I think pink grapefruit smells like sweat.

BuggerOffDailyMirror · 17/11/2016 08:48

PrancerForHoney There's a facebook group??? Shock

I'm a lot better than I was thanks, but predictably extremely bored and desperate to be back to normal! I'm up and about and the bed is back upstairs, and the community care team don't come anymore and instead I have to go to the GP every Tuesday and Friday for blood tests. Still struggling with the mental health after shocks of it all but I was prone to anxiety anyway so I think that's to be expected.

I'm signed off work for another 6 weeks from now, so 8 weeks in total Shock.. I'm hoping to go back at the beginning of January though. I already feel like I could go back to work most of the time, until about 10am when I'm so exhausted from getting up and dressed I have to have a nap Blush.. apparently that's the anemia and the after affects of the sepsis, my blood results are also pretty funky which won't be helping!

On the plus side, I'm using the time to blitz the house get some little cleaning jobs done and taking plenty of time over it. A single room is taking me about a day to sort out because of frequent tea breaks and naps, but it's getting there steadily :) It's given me a project to work on and I'm actually enjoying cleaning! Shock

For some reason this thread disappeared from my I'm On list Shock I tried Winter Spice last night and was pleasantly surprised. TheLionQueen my flat also has a winter musty-ness about it. We don't have central heating and only have storage heaters in the living room, so the bedroom and spare room feel cold and damp. I'm hoping that if I spray Zoflo around the edges of the carpet and the skirting boards, then that might help?!

BretonStripe · 17/11/2016 17:07

My name is Breton, and I am a ZoFlo addict. Even my phone knows this, as it doesn't try to autocorrect the word Zoflo. I can't not buy a new scent.

I need a new cupboard to house them ! (And I'm pining for Winter Spice again).

My house/Zoflora
TheLionQueen · 17/11/2016 18:44

Curbside I imagine it'll help with the smell but don't get too carried away and add to the dampness! Could you wipe the storage heater with it (neat maybe if safe in your house?). I've been shite with housework this week, I'm sure a new zoflo would encourage me but have only found the usual suspects so far..

TheLionQueen · 18/11/2016 15:44

Finally got round to attacking the musty cupboard! Sorted through DH clothes, refolded a load and wiped the inside out with zoflo. It's carpeted at the bottom so went the whole hog and shake n vacd that too the bastard better marvel at it when he gets home
I didn't feel like zoflo was strong enough on the mouldy spots so went back to the polycell stuff that makes you choke. Damp dusted with linen to improve the smell though. Really must order a dehumidifier.
How's everyone's cleaning efforts going?

CaptainBumpALot · 18/11/2016 19:53

Me again, with probably and already answered question..

Has anyone tried zoflo in a wet-vac? Just the thought of it makes me want to clean my carpets at dusk!

TheLionQueen · 18/11/2016 20:23

Hi captain I don't have one but from what I've read it's ok to use in the detergent bit of steam things if it gas one!
I just went to morrisons on a zoflo mission! Picked up green Valley and very happy with it. They also had twilight and winter morning- I had a sniff but wasn't overwhelmed. Think with hindsight I would've liked winter morning for damp dusting so will end up going back!

CurbsideProphet · 18/11/2016 20:26

TheLionQueenI was full of good intentions today but have only given the kitchen a going over. I really need to clean the bin cupboard. I hate bins boak >>>>Envy

SuePerkins · 18/11/2016 21:14

I discovered a new fragrance to me today in Wilko, Summer Breeze. Very similar to Summer Bouquet which I find sickly so I didn't buy it. It was bargainous though - the big bottles are £2, they still also had the giant bottles of Bluebell Woods for £4. Didn't buy but wish I had now. It reminded me a little of a floral version of Linen. Very clean and fresh.

TheLionQueen · 19/11/2016 17:18

Like the sound of bluebell woods Sue I'll look out for that!
Bins are a tedious job Curbside but after you've wiped them out with zoflo try a sprinkle of shake n vac in- absorbs the dreaded bin juice and smell nice when you open it!

JustSpeakSense · 19/11/2016 21:30

Never heard of the stuff until
I read this thread! House now smells bloody fantastic!

schmack · 20/11/2016 17:50

ok been to wilko today and got the Bluebell one on all your recommendation - mainly to deal with stinky trainers and football boots. How should I apply it? Dilute and spray?

TheLionQueen · 20/11/2016 18:05

Dilute and spray is a good start if you can't wash them! Then leave them somewhere warm to dry. If it's the insides I'd be tempted to use a stronger solution but it's up to you to judge the risk(?)
Spurred on by efforts of cleaning I decided to drag DH shopping for nice new bedroom stuff today but we got a bit carried away and have decided to redecorate! Have another thread running if any of you have got Lovely bedrooms and don't mind sharing your tips.
I can't do links but it's in housekeeping!

I've been really busy the last couple of days. Actual, you know, cleaning and stuff. Rather than gadding around purchasing zoflora.

Used up the last of the Cranberry and Orange on disinfecting the greenhouse and have started the Country Garden on the floors in the house. Smells quite nice actually.

Zoflorabore · 22/11/2016 14:32

Hi everyone I posted earlier on in the thread. Could not find it again so started another called " slight zoflora addiction " it's here in housekeeping.
My obsession is getting worse :)

But the house smells bloody fabulous...
