My house/Zoflora

1000 replies

TheLionQueen · 20/10/2016 11:28

Posting here for traffic.
My house is a bit horrid. I have pets and a messy DH (who does get on board when I have a proper 'spruce' but doesn't notice the daily grime). I can keep on top of genuine rubbish but clutter builds easily. I know nobody can sort this out for me and I am working on it.
What bothers me most is smell. Although it's clean ish, it doesn't smell fresh. I do open windows for a bit every day.
I bought some miracle potion Zoflora yesterday and already mop the floors with it. I want to know what I can do with it as almost like a reed diffuser/air freshener?
I don't put the heating on much (have a log burner) so don't think putting it on radiators would work. I do hoover relatively regularly so can try the cotton wool trick. Anything else I could try? Is it really safe to spray on curtains? Any other tips for a pet household for smell? Thanks in advance!

Oh dear Honk I'm not sure of the flammable properties of zoflo so go steady (and hopefully get a nap!)
baby apologies, I did actually specify housekeeping to mnhq; short of them creating a Zoflora topic I wasn't sure where else to suggest?!
Pablo your SiL is in for such a treat! Will you include the zoflo essentials; spray bottles, microfiber cloths, cotton wool and a link to this thread?!
I think we should collectively write a book. 1001 things to do with Zoflora.

lionqueen I understand your predicament. They should definitely create a Zoflo topic or a whole new site. 'Flonet'. Grin. Think I had too much Halloween punch last night. Did I actually use the term 'peeps'?

AntheaBelveden · 30/10/2016 09:18

Our house is a super energy efficient new build which means we never have to put the heating on.

From a gas bill perspective it's fantastic but I really want to zoflo the radiators, pop the heating on and have winter spice wafting around.

I realise that this truly is the most first world of problems.

I suppose I could give the heated airer a rub down?

SirChenjin · 30/10/2016 09:39

Nugget - I think I may have my Zoflo ratio wrong as my eyes apear to be watering.

I'm with you. Housekeeping indeed - pah! Zoflora is much more than housekeeping - it's a way of life, it's good mental health, it's hygge.

TheLionQueen · 30/10/2016 09:56

'FloNet', I like it!
Ha I think you might have used the word peeps, but it was coming from a good place so I'm sure it can be overlooked this once!
I'm zofloraing the bedding and carpet after DH puked last night cretin
It really has worked wonders on the carpet though!

GaryGilmoresEyes · 30/10/2016 12:05

I popped into poundland this morning and got Winter Spice and Springtime. They had quite a few others (lavender / hyacinth / cranberry & orange / bouquet) but I didn't particularly like any of them so stopped at 2 to go with my linen one from yesterday Smile

AliceThrewTheFookingPumpkin · 30/10/2016 13:57

DP has been raising his eyebrows at how many bottles of zoflora I've bought for my collection over the past week and thinks I've gone a bit mad..

Today he has converted to the good side.

we went to Tesco today and they had one bottle of winter morning so I tried to sneakily sneak it into the trolly. He spotted me and instead of raising his eyebrows he picked up warm cinnamon and added that too!

HairsprayQueen · 30/10/2016 14:11

2 Twilight Gardens bought today, all ready to do a big autumn clean when the kids go back.

Can't wait!!

PikachuSayBoo · 30/10/2016 14:20

I just got Green Valley in Morrisons. Meant to smell like the Yorkshire dales according to the packaging. Not tried it yet!

OhFuds · 30/10/2016 14:38

Aww no, my Morrisons only had lavender left today. It did cross my mind that maybe one of you's emptied the shelves of the other 2 scents Grin.

Haha I might join that FB group just for a nosey, I better not tell them I haven't tried Zoflora yet incase the administration is strict and kick me out.

TheLadyWithTheYellowHat · 30/10/2016 14:49

Just done bathroom, ds room and hall with zoflora, amynd washing bedding atm with it, house smells amazing, went round to dms house for Sunday lunch took some put it on kitchen roll and placed in my dfs shoes (he has parkinsons so finds wearing socks is difficult to walk in so his shoes get very smelly) so she now has a lovely smelling porch and hopefully dfs shoes will smell better, win win Grin

TheLadyWithTheYellowHat · 30/10/2016 14:50

And im*

Three year old hanging off my arm while im trying to type

GaryGilmoresEyes · 30/10/2016 16:08

I've just made a Winter Spice reed diffuser. It's on the hall radiator smelling amazing.

HemanOrSheRa · 30/10/2016 16:22

Mmmm. Green Valley is lovely. I did my dishwasher/dishcloth with it.

I was very selfless in Morrisons yesterday Fuds. There were LOADS of Green Valley and 2 bottles of Winter Morning. I just took one of each. Because I am a nice person Grin.

justdontevenfuckingstart · 30/10/2016 16:29

I bought the Spring one yesterday before reading this thread in the early hours (we had a mahoosive chinese and I couldn't settle) went and bought the linen one today. Put half a cap in with the washing. Lovely! Was soo much better than any conditioner I have used before and could never smell. And downstairs still smells lovely and not of my lovely but smelly dodgies. I am definitely converted. Floors will be done tomorrow when I can stick the dodgies outside.

IneedAdinosaurNickname · 30/10/2016 19:08

I cleaned my bathroom with it yesterday. And wiped the radiator down. It didn't smell of anything this morning Hmm maybe I over diluted it!

elizadolittlechoc · 30/10/2016 20:41

Thanks to these threads I've become a fan over recent weeks. I do find the cinnamon a bit overpowering (I put it in the vacuum cleaner). No more stinky dish cloths which even bleach didn't remove. Favourite is linen and I put a capful in with smelly washing. Not only does it remove the pong from socks and sports kit, I see it has removed all the mould from the conditioner drawer!

MrTCakes · 30/10/2016 21:59

I am now the proud owner of green valley, midnight winter and twilight garden.
I have a bug so actually need its disinfecting properties!

inmyheadimthequeen · 30/10/2016 22:06

I was just finishing off a bouquet and it had almost passed out of my consciousness then I saw this thread and am now stocked up! Wasn't sure about Linen thh so have gone with Midnight Winter. House smells lovely but god, I'm getting old.

inmyheadimthequeen · 30/10/2016 22:09

TWILIGHT Garden ffs!!

Mozfan1 · 31/10/2016 07:42

Did anyone post on the bleach thread? The deletion message said it was a pbp who 'had a penchant for cleaning products'

Isn't that all of us here?!

letmepeeinpeace · 31/10/2016 09:54

I recently bought some (zoflora virgin!) and have poured some in my bin to give it a good clean, my flat now smells lovely! Definitely going to buy some more! My flat is very small and the loo is very near our sitting area so I'm going to start scrubbing the bathroom and loo with it now

SleepFreeZone · 31/10/2016 10:19

Cleaned both bathrooms with Bouquet yesterday. Was surprised I couldn't still smell it later on. The scents I like less seem to hang around for longer 😁
