My house/Zoflora

Posting here for traffic.
My house is a bit horrid. I have pets and a messy DH (who does get on board when I have a proper 'spruce' but doesn't notice the daily grime). I can keep on top of genuine rubbish but clutter builds easily. I know nobody can sort this out for me and I am working on it.
What bothers me most is smell. Although it's clean ish, it doesn't smell fresh. I do open windows for a bit every day.
I bought some miracle potion Zoflora yesterday and already mop the floors with it. I want to know what I can do with it as almost like a reed diffuser/air freshener?
I don't put the heating on much (have a log burner) so don't think putting it on radiators would work. I do hoover relatively regularly so can try the cotton wool trick. Anything else I could try? Is it really safe to spray on curtains? Any other tips for a pet household for smell? Thanks in advance!

It's ok, I can't smell it anymore though but it was my first attempt!

CurtainsforRonnie · 24/10/2016 19:49

Does everyone wear gloves when Zoflooring? I didnt have any, so put a nappy bag over my hand Confused

MessezFaire · 24/10/2016 20:11

I just accept that I'll have scented hands for a while. It doesn't last that long.

I'm tempted to infuse the cooker hood with zoflora.

GaryGilmoresEyes · 24/10/2016 20:17

I've just got home and my hall smells amazing. I sprayed the inside door mat with Winter Spice yesterday afternoon.
I can see a black market in Zoflora soon when stocks run out thanks to the MN Zoflo Club😉

JasperDamerel · 24/10/2016 20:18

I picked up some Green Valley with the groceries this evening. MiL, housewife extraordinaire, is coming over tomorrow, so I'll slosh some around a bit later.

GaryGilmoresEyes · 24/10/2016 20:19

MessezFaire
I am considering wiping the outside of the kettle and oven doors with it.
This is what my life has become.

Derbyday · 24/10/2016 20:55

Today, I have replaced my water/vinegar solution in the (never used) spray bottle with zoflora and cleaned the inside of several windows. My house is disgusting but I'm interviewing a cleaner this week so obviously have to do some emergency cleaning prior to that so she doesn't think I'm a complete slattern.

babynugget · 24/10/2016 22:18

I'm still here fellow Zoflo fans. I have been temporarily taken away from Mumsnet in order to Zoflo everything in my house. It has also taken me this time to come to terms with my inferior skills in Zoflo arranging. It saddens me to report that I have laid the macrame to rest, it seemed a fruitless endeavour when MrT continues to effortlessly capture the very essence of our heavenly liquid. Hats off to you, I now step aside and accept my position in this hierarchy.

Glad you know your place nugget .

I put a capful of Winter Spice down the plugs in my ensuite last night. When I went in this morning I decided I definitely don't like the smell!

I don't understand - when I sniffed it in Poundworld, I really liked it.

tiredvommachine · 25/10/2016 10:06

Have linen freshed my washing machine.
Couldn't remember if it went in the powder part or the fabric conditioner bit so put a capful in both.

LaundryQueenHatesIroning · 25/10/2016 10:54

This morning I used some along with washing up liquid when cleaning the cats' litter trays. Usually even after cleaning they have a vague whiff of cat pee about them if you get close but they smell great now.

Now just waiting for the Dyson filter to dry so I can try that Smile

Are all of you hardcore Zofloristas using your Xmas scented ones yet or do you save them for December?

SwedishEdith · 25/10/2016 11:03

"I checked out the Zoflora status of the 3 pound store in Croydon today."

I read that as their minimum selling price is now £3. Grin

SirChenjin · 25/10/2016 11:28

I'm using my Christmas one now - it feels quite exciting!! I think by the time Christmas comes though we'll all be pig sick of the smell of cinnamon and orange.

SoupDragon · 25/10/2016 11:50

:) not £3, no. Although this made my heart sing with joy when Pound World opened near this Poundland

MumboNumber5 · 25/10/2016 11:57

we have the spring one which just seems wrong this time of year.

Mozfan1 · 25/10/2016 12:32

97p?!

wineusuallyhelps · 25/10/2016 13:03

mozfan one of our Poundlands is 90p because Poundworld opened a few doors along. Weirdly it does feel like more of a bargain Grin

Mozfan1 · 25/10/2016 13:10

Considering the tiny margins they work on its a pretty big bargain- I think on a lot of products their margins are about 3p profit and some brands are loss leaders. Bloody hell 90p! We have a pound land, here's hoping pound world move in next door soon...

SoupDragon · 25/10/2016 13:23

Ours are all back up to £1 now.

I've just remembered the wonderful time someone stopped and asked me where the 99p store was. No problem there. Then she asked if it was cheaper thanPoundland... :o

Kidnapped · 25/10/2016 13:28

Our Poundland just has smaller boxes of stuff and smaller quantities of stuff than elsewhere. If you pay £1.30 for 650g of Bonios dog biscuits elsewhere then Poundland will sell a 375g of bonios for £1. And claim that it is a bargain. Rubbish.

Anyway my spirits were undampened by the bonios fiasco because I picked up some ZoFlo from Home Bargains.

I already have Apple Orchard, Winter Spice and Linen. Not a huge collection, no, but enough to be getting on with.

I will crack open the Winter Spice in December, not a day before. Don't want to peak too early and leave myself with nowhere to go.

SirChenjin · 25/10/2016 14:16

I feel I may have peaked too early by opening the winter spice Sad - I fear I'll end up cracking open the bluebell one to give our noses a break from cinnamon, which is just goong to result in seasonal confusion.

Kidnapped · 25/10/2016 14:56

A rookie error if I may say so, SirC.

Not surprising of course, given the heady scents freely available in Shops of Tat, but with Winter Spice comes great responsibility.

Perhaps you should have sought advice on here before embarking on such wanton and giddy behaviour. And let's face it, it is hardly a great example to set to the newer, perhaps more easily influenced, Zoflora converts.

SlinkyB · 25/10/2016 15:39

I'm using my Winter Spice now...definitely peaked told early. Never mind, I haven't seen Orange and Cinnamon yet so will keep my eyes peeled and hope I can get that one for December 1st.

Has no-one suffered the wheeze when spraying it around then?! Must just be me!

SirChenjin · 25/10/2016 15:49

I am thoroughly ashamed of my Zoflora recklessness Sad. Newbies - I urge you to take heed of my foolish behaviour and exercise more self restraint - else you too will find yourself doing the spray of shame with Eau de Bluebell in mid December Shock
