My house/Zoflora

TheLionQueen · 20/10/2016 11:28

Posting here for traffic.
My house is a bit horrid. I have pets and a messy DH (who does get on board when I have a proper 'spruce' but doesn't notice the daily grime). I can keep on top of genuine rubbish but clutter builds easily. I know nobody can sort this out for me and I am working on it.
What bothers me most is smell. Although it's clean ish, it doesn't smell fresh. I do open windows for a bit every day.
I bought some miracle potion Zoflora yesterday and already mop the floors with it. I want to know what I can do with it as almost like a reed diffuser/air freshener?
I don't put the heating on much (have a log burner) so don't think putting it on radiators would work. I do hoover relatively regularly so can try the cotton wool trick. Anything else I could try? Is it really safe to spray on curtains? Any other tips for a pet household for smell? Thanks in advance!

I bought Linen off the back of a MN thread and absolutely hated it. It put me off for ages. Have since tried Bouquet and Twilight Garden and think I am getting there? Linen, from the name, feels like a safe bet for the uninitiated but judging by the many on this thread not feeling it, think it is not the best place to dip your toe in.

Just decanted some Twilight Garden into an old empty reed diffuser in the bathroom and hoping for the best.

Now that I have retired from full-time Zofloral arranging, although I will continue my Zofloral arranging workshops for the WI, I have more time to reflect.

It concerns me just how quickly some of you have been swept along by Zoflora mania. Just look at MrT who is now completely unrecognisable as the person they were yesterday. We haven't heard from babynugget recently. We can only conclude that she has shut herself off from the outside world to work on her macrame. Of course adding Zoflora to your life, and your laundry, can only be a good thing. It is good to be easily influenced. Yes, that's right. Listen to Aunty Neep. She only wants what's best for you. You are clearly someone of great taste and judgement. Attractive too. Just switch off your mind, breathe in the Zoflora haze and let Aunty Neep do all the thinking for you. I have this great opportunity to tell you about...

papayasareyum · 23/10/2016 21:24

bluebell woods is my favourite zoflora and I've tried most of them!

MrTCakes · 23/10/2016 21:33

Holy shit I have been sucked into pyramid selling.

NeepNeepNeep · 23/10/2016 21:45

No no MrT it's all perfectly fine and normal here. Look at the pretty bottles. See how they shine? That's right. Just think about all the nice pretties and the lovely smells...

SirChenjin · 23/10/2016 22:08

I liked linen - my towels smelt the way I imagine grown up lady's towels smell Sad

HemanOrSheRa · 23/10/2016 22:19

I like linen for towels. It makes the bathroom smell fresh and clean. Add in a liberal spritz of Lynx from DS. Super ConfusedGrin.

DP is putting up new curtain poles RIGHT NOW. He's only had 8 hours to do it so that's good Hmm. If I douse him in twilight garden while he's up the ladder, will it make me less likely to lightly tap him around the head with a pewter effect curtain ring?

CaoNiMa · 23/10/2016 22:44

Zoflorabore - I'm in Liverpool! Poundland by the main bus station in town has a nice selection.

Manumission · 23/10/2016 23:51

Even my dd9 is saying, will you stop going on about Zoflora

😂 poor kid.

MyNescafe · 24/10/2016 00:16

I've been up to Zoflora scented tricks myself today too Grin
Chucked a splosh of hyacinth down the bogs, a capful of Citrus in the dishwasher and down the kitchen sink, Linen in the bath towel wash and Green Valley around the bathroom.
Actually feeling a bit queasy now so might have over done it Blush

MessezFaire · 24/10/2016 00:24

I put a capful in the dishwasher for an empty service wash. I can smell it all the way upstairs, it's lovely, but now I'm nervous that my glass of wine dinner is going to taste like fresh linen forever more.

HemanOrSheRa · 24/10/2016 00:35

No it won't Faire. It'll be no different to using one of those fancy dan dishwasher freshners. Or when you run a cleaning tablet thingummy through.

Zoflorabore · 24/10/2016 09:04

Waves to Cao :)

Yes I know the one! And we call it home and bargain don't we?

I think that was it's original name tho i loved the " homey b's " description from a pp.

There is another thread running about nice smells in houses and I think we've been described as some kind of zoflora cult ( had to watch my fingers there or that could easily have said something else ) Grin

I've never ever met a MNer in rl.

MrTCakes · 24/10/2016 09:36

Link so we can go and convert them!

AlwaysLookOnBrightsideOfLife · 24/10/2016 11:17

Thinking I need to up my zoflora game as I only own Bouquet (it was bought for us as part of a large housewarming basket - how amazing was that person!).

Is it wrong I wish I could clean more with it? Have to be careful as we have a puppy running around, so can't clean with it nearly as much as I'd like.

I clearly have issues. GrinBlush

SoupDragon · 24/10/2016 11:21

I checked out the Zoflora status of the 3 pound store inCroydon today.

The old 99p store, now Poundland, only had Winter Spice.
Poundworld had the usual suspects (linen, bouquet, hyacinth, spring, lavender) plus Cranberry and orange.
PoundLand had just the usual suspects.

I surprised myself by liking Bouquet. I have whiffy plumbing (snigger) and hope my Zoflora collection will sort it out.

SoupDragon · 24/10/2016 11:21

I'm not going bonkers and spraying it everywhere though. I don't like the scent that much!

Dafadddu · 24/10/2016 13:02

Oh dear...

My house/Zoflora
wineusuallyhelps · 24/10/2016 15:39

Just been in HB's and got two more fragrances (DS9 said "oh for heaven's sake mum, will you stop?!). But I still cannot compete with that array, Daffadu. I only have five kinds Sad

I have to compete with the smell of 4 males and a dog. I need this stuff Smile

MrTCakes · 24/10/2016 16:55

I now have apple orchard and country garden in my possession. And some pretty new spray bottles.
Can't wait for ds to go to bed so I can play with my new toys.

MrTCakes · 24/10/2016 16:56

My quest for winter morning continues. Angry

TheLionQueen · 24/10/2016 17:41

I need to up my range too, joining you in the quest for winter morning MrT and would like to smell the cranberry and orange one.
DH said today "have you cleaned something?" when he put something in the bin so the kitchen roll in the bottom has worked!
I did have to patiently explain what Zoflora was does he ever listen to me? Probably not
Spent the day in the garden moving manure so would only be right to zoflorawash my grubby clothes I think!

Summer breeze is my current fave 💐

Veggiesupremeextracheese · 24/10/2016 18:44

I winter spiced my skirting boards today and my 13 year old son asked me why the house smelt of Sainsbury's Confused. Not sure if that's good or bad Grin.

MrTCakes · 24/10/2016 19:04

What is winterspice like veggie ? I'm not too keen on it in the bottle
