My house/Zoflora

Posting here for traffic.
My house is a bit horrid. I have pets and a messy DH (who does get on board when I have a proper 'spruce' but doesn't notice the daily grime). I can keep on top of genuine rubbish but clutter builds easily. I know nobody can sort this out for me and I am working on it.
What bothers me most is smell. Although it's clean ish, it doesn't smell fresh. I do open windows for a bit every day.
I bought some miracle potion Zoflora yesterday and already mop the floors with it. I want to know what I can do with it as almost like a reed diffuser/air freshener?
I don't put the heating on much (have a log burner) so don't think putting it on radiators would work. I do hoover relatively regularly so can try the cotton wool trick. Anything else I could try? Is it really safe to spray on curtains? Any other tips for a pet household for smell? Thanks in advance!

This thread is hilarious.

I have Zoflo'd the pavement outside my front door. In my defence, a dog had shit there.

MrTCakes · 25/10/2016 16:09

I used Citrus Fresh for the pavement, since you asked.

AntheaBelveden · 25/10/2016 16:20

Can everyone in the south coast area please stop buying all the winter spice zoflora please?

Took me bloody ages to find some today.

Mozfan1 · 25/10/2016 16:25

MrT that is amazing, I'm so tempted to scrub my front step with it now.

PinkissimoAndPearls · 25/10/2016 16:44

My name is Pinkissimo and I too have succumbed to the cheap thrill of mainlining winter spice in October.

Earlier today I bought warm cinnamon (in Asda, £1.49 for small bottle, the robbing bastards) assuming it was the same as winter spice but it isn't. I don't like it nearly as much.

I am not happy. Not only have I peaked too early, I have almost finished my winter spice and will have to replace with the still nice but not as nice, Twilight Garden.

In other news, my hallway is scented with WS on cotton wool on the radiator. DH came home from work, sniffed and said "something smells nice, have you got a new perfume?"

So my DH thinks I smell like disinfectant. Last week he told me I looked like the new Troll doll (I have very pink hair in his defence but not his finest moment) so I'm basically a troll that smells of disinfectant. Thanks DH.

Mozfan1 · 25/10/2016 16:47

pink that is the best compliment ever
My SIL came round the other day and in preparation I drowned the bathroom in springtime. I asked her 'did you notice a nice smell in the bathroom?'

Her answer?

'No. It didn't smell horrible, just didn't smell anything tbh'.

fucking disappointment.

SirChenjin · 25/10/2016 16:54

She obvs did a big poo which neutralised the lovely spring fragrance Shock

LaundryQueenHatesIroning · 25/10/2016 16:55

Kidnapped I agree, no winter spice before December, but I didn't see the harm in cracking open warm cinnamon and cranberry and orange now as using something like Green Valley doesn't seem quite right when my pumpkins are sitting on the bench and my Halloween decorations are up.

They had a great selection of Zoflo on Thursday in the big Tesco when I went in, when I went yesterday they had nothing left. Empty shelves. I had visions of all the mumsnettters filling their baskets, foaming at the mouth in a Zoflo-excitement induced fit.

LaundryQueenHatesIroning · 25/10/2016 16:56

Mozfan I think that's grounds for going NC

Mozfan1 · 25/10/2016 16:56

sir Grin

Mozfan1 · 25/10/2016 16:57

laundry I agree I struggled to hide how pissed off I was. I even sprayed the fucking blind with it. Fucks sake!!!!!

TheLionQueen · 25/10/2016 19:58

This was Poundlands offering today. I sniffed them but really wasn't keen! The cranberry orange one smelled like cheap shots and the cinnamon one was too disinfectant-y

I have never heard of Zoflora! Have I wasted my life?

SlinkyB · 25/10/2016 22:59

TheLion my house smelling like cheap shots actually kind of appeals Grin

Never too late to start manhowdy. I saw Iceland had the usual scents for £1 for the 120ml bottles earlier. A good place to start...

OnceMoreIntoTheBleach · 25/10/2016 23:03

Thanks to whoever posted the window cleaning tip - I never knew, but my word it works!

MessezFaire · 25/10/2016 23:18

I'm starting to suspect I am sensitive to something in the zoflora. On the days I've used it I've been cursing random Autumn hay fever for giving me itchy eyes and nose. Will conduct further testing but maybe I'll have to go back to living in filth?

TaggySits · 25/10/2016 23:21

I can't believe I've just read 17 pages of Zoflora tips - what has my life become???

Worryingly I have been swept along by the craze and have today made my first ever purchase of Zoflora - tomorrow will be a new dawn of fragrant floors, aromatic armchairs, scented sinks, luscious laundry and not to forget the perfumed potty.

NeepNeepNeep · 26/10/2016 00:00

I think coconut Zoflora would be lovely. Tropical.

SeussicaltheMusical · 26/10/2016 07:17

Do I need to dilute it before I chuck a cap in with my towel wash? Or down the toilet? Or is diluting just for spraying? Help me, I am uninitiated!

SoupDragon · 26/10/2016 07:23

I don't think you need to dilute it for washing or toilet as both those things have water already. I don't use a full cap in my washing machine though.

bluesky9 · 26/10/2016 07:36

I tried to buy some lad night with my online Asda shop. They didn't recognise it no matter how many searches I did within the cleaning products section...gutted!

bluesky9 · 26/10/2016 07:37

Last not lad!

SlinkyB · 26/10/2016 07:43

Where do people put it in their dishwasher please? Mine smells like fish today, for some unknown reason, but don't know whether to put it in the bit where I normally put the tablet or the rinse aid?

Help!

Manumission · 26/10/2016 11:02

I just pour it onto the inside of the door (it feels safer to put it on metal than plastic for some mad reason). It works fine.

babynugget · 26/10/2016 11:19

I've just caved and cracked open my Warm Cinnamon, which I was supposed to be saving for December! It's cheered me up but now I have a hankering for the Winter Spice and Cinnamon and Orange. I feel a trip to Poundland is in order!
