Yay Honu! Great to see you! (I'm with you re: the humidity btw.)

I cannot advise on paper clutter (would be hugely hypocritical as I have steaming piles of them in home office to the extent that we cannot see the floor) but thankfully, help is on hand, because October is always paper clutter month.

If you want to get ahead, info is here!

I'm up for it if you are!! Grin

Grin Pontification and yay to unexpected "free" days but crikey woman - you are exhausted - that list doesn't look as though you are going to be taking it easy. Take it steady! Very relieved to hear nap is scheduled! But I think you deserve an entire duvet day!

Oh and yy, one thing I won't miss about ballet (if dd finally gives up) is the hair pins, hair grips, bun nets, hair nets, hair spray and all that paraphenalia all over everywhere!!

I am feeling v tired today too so working through jobs v slowly with lots of mmsnetting breaks in between Blush

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 16/09/2016 18:34

Ta da:-
Got some advice on how to create portfolio by Tuesday. Combined this with meeting friend for tea and biscuits so double win Smile
Home bleugh (have I got that right?!) done - in far more than an hour

To do
Bath and bedtime for DDs
Online shopping
Birthday cards - how are these still on the list?!
Eat fish and chips and drink wine Grin
Make a start on looking at the many birthdays coming up
Quick calendar check
Before bed routine - haven't been as good at doing this as I go along today as prioritised home blessing day hour which I think was with it.
Find folder as the start for my portfolio

Happy Friday everyone.

pontificationcentral · 16/09/2016 22:31

Don't worry sc - I did the dishwasher and put the first load of laundry on, and then decided to have a morning nap instead of wait until the afternoon! Grin
TA da:

Nap
Dishwasher
Laundry x 2
Kitchen sides
School admin (partial fail as hit an error message so had to email for over-ride)
Am now sitting waiting in the car park for the science club gals...

Then home to vacuum before I head into town for the out of house jobs...

I have GBBO downloaded for tonight - but dd2 came home and said 'isn't x coming for dinner tonight?' throwing me into hideous recollection about a half-planned 'is it ok if I come over on Friday' convo. I can't get hold of x either, so now I am wibbling and fretting. X spends lots of time doing fabulous things abroad (MSF etc) and pops back for a week or so. It's lovely to see her but she is totally A type and needs preparation....

celeste83 · 16/09/2016 23:18

Late check in tonight. Went swimming this evening then went for a meal and drink with a friend.

Ta das today

washed dishes
made beds
hooverd all floors
general tidy up
tidied ds room
made ds tea
washed dishes

Tomorrow my stupid two week loo bleach challenge is over. I've proven myself to dh and my sister that i'm not such a bleachaholic afterall Smile Anyone want to say goodbye to Jeremy Germ and Steve-Coli and the other germlets hiding under the rim of my loo? Grin

fromwesttoeast · 16/09/2016 23:31

Hello everyone. Popping in to say not been Flying this week. Haven't found a place for those 15 minutes yet! I'm just about keeping on top of the washing up and telling the kids to vacuum and put the bins out.
Weekly home bleugh is completely out of the question- but Salutary you have reassured me that it doesn't matter.
I actually do have morning and before bed routines. In many ways I'm pretty organised but the house is always last on the list.
Keep up the good work everyone!

PaulineFowlersGrowler · 17/09/2016 00:12

celeste enjoy your bleach reunion tomorrow Grin
Was so productive last night that I collapsed in a heap before I could post. Today has been pretty good too
todays ta das
-2 loads of washing done and PUT AWAY. This is unheard of.
-Kitchen, hall, 1 set of stairs and 1 landing hoovered and mopped.
-various other piles of clean washing put away.
-hoovered, mopped and zaflora'd DS's room.
-baby steps day 3
-27 fling...got a bit over zealous though and Two bin bags of clothes went to the clothes bank!
-and my usual daily stuff, cooking, school run, dishes etc.

I don't usually get this much done but I'm on mega doses of steroids at the moment and they are making me hyper, I'm usually a wet lettuce So I'm making hay while the sun shines.

Morning all [rubs eyes sleepily]

Ponti how wonderful that your school has a science club! That would've been right up DD's street while she was at school. She is totally in love with a chemistry set I got recently.

DSD goes off to uni today! Exciting times but I'm going to miss her so much. We spend a lot of time together and as cliche as it may sound she's my friend too.

Stilllivinginazoo · 17/09/2016 11:50

Oh no Zoo that is very [sad

Salutarychoring · 17/09/2016 12:05

Sorry, something wrong with keyboard - seems to have jam on it or something????

Zoo I sincerely apologise, was trying to say that that is extremely sad news about your dp's mother and must come as a shock even though you were expecting something serious. Very tough for you too with difficult family dynamics Flowers

That's sweet about your dsd Cag - good luck to her at uni!

Glad to hear it Pontification Grin Hope "surprise" dinner went well! We are having a supposedly planned dinner tonight and as I have so far done absolutely no prep towards it, it might as well have been a surprise one ifyswim Blush

Must get cracking now! Have five hours in which to whip something in to shape (and, er, um, need to go and buy it first)...

Enjoy your weekends everyone!

Encouraging wing flaps to all!

Stilllivinginazoo · 17/09/2016 12:20

Good luck to your daughter at Uni Cag I take its her first year? I'm sure she will be fine and will have the time of her life. Least we have Skype these days unlike in my day when it was only phonecalls.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 17/09/2016 14:25

To da:-
Laundry started
Work admin done while girls at ballet as DH free to help too

To do:-
Birthday cards Blush!
More laundry
Some decluttering of some sort
Before bed routine
15 mins work on this portfolio
DDs angling to go out and play so have said I'll take them out in half an hour, doing as much laundry as poss before that!

Cagliostro · 17/09/2016 14:51

Thanks all yes it's her first year. I hope she'll enjoy it - she does find academic work very difficult due to dyslexia/Irlen's syndrome which she will hopefully get some help for unlike her utterly useless secondary school but the less said about that the better - but she's such a hard worker, I am so proud of what she's achieved at college, it's really been the making of her. But the days of her popping round for coursework help/anime marathons will be rare now. :( We talk on the phone/FB a lot though and at least she's not too far away - enough to get some independence but near enough that she can come back easily and we can visit her. She's coming back for a few things I've booked this term (2 anime films - one just the two of us - and a play) so at least we'll see her sometimes. I'm just feeling all nostalgic. It's funny, out of my 3 DSCs she was the one who I really struggled to build a relationship with at first (not the OW or anything, they'd been divorced 4 years) but now she's the one I'm closest to and we have loads in common. People often think we're sisters. :o

Zoo I'm so sorry :( what horrible news. Thanks

No Flying expected today other than laundry, really dizzy yesterday and I'm still feeling a bit wobbly.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 17/09/2016 14:59

Oh yes good luck to your DSC Cag! I remember my first day away at uni so, so well. That strange mix of excitement and nerves. Sounds as if you have a lovely relationship with her.

Cagliostro · 17/09/2016 17:13

Thanks Too :)

I've done nothing today, except gather a load of odd socks to sort through and wash! Productive eh?

Caglets have been playing outside for most of the day. They were bouncing off the ceilings in here.

Second round up of the thread:

We have lots of new and returning Fledglings to welcome this month: LiveLife Addictive Badger TooStressy DontStop Foxes, Marwoods, Fromwesttoeast, Ememem84, Furble, Pauline, lazyleo, Happilyahousewife

Toffee – was feeling frazzled about ruined school uniform on the one hand and relieved about finishing swimming lessons on the other

Blue - pulled off a very stressful party at home for her DS2

TooStressy – is getting excited about Christmas and working on improving her before bed routine, not helped by the witching hour that is the DC’s bedtime

Fromwesttoeast – is wanting to get better at using her ‘off switch’ from work as she works from home and never seems to stop. Her DC’s have also been roped into decluttering too

8 – is thrilled about the multi-usage of Zoflora

Foxes – came back onto the thread with her scrummy new baby < all together now: aaaaahhhhh!! > Steady does it though missy. < gives stern look >

Celeste - is desperate to get back to using her beloved bleach! She has also been enjoying the beautiful countryside of Dartmoor as well as her colouring books (show us a picture of the end result?)

Badger – is reaping the benefits of the Flylady system, but still getting the hang on the 15 minute guideline

Zoo – has been troubled by eczema but is producing vast, vast ta-da lists! Including baking scrumptious sounding Mocha Muffins. Unfortunately her MIL is seriously ill in hospital

Cag – has been fending off a randy grasshopper, getting her diary in order and waving her DSD off to uni!

Furble has just started her maternity leave (baby due v.v.soon) and is looking forward to sorting out her flat

Happilyahousewife is hoping FlyLady can help get her farm house under control! Welcome to the thread.

Pont is channeling Flylady beautifully with her organization skills and lace up shoes!

SC – and her family are still working out the logistics of the new school year, not helped by police and military presence making everyone nervy.

Lazyleo sounds intrigued by the Flylady system but maybe feeling a bit overwhelmed but all the information on the site. Welcome to the thread and you’ll pick it up in no time!

Pauline is settling into a new house and still living out of boxes. She has joined the thread for motivation and support with Flying with a health condition

Addictive – has been chauffeuring her DD about leaving little time for flying

Ememem84 has returned to the thread, welcome back

Honu has also returned to the nest, is currently dealing with paper clutter and using the Flyhelper App (Any good?)

Grey is just about managing to post the links and hang onto her sanity…just.
