Woo hoo! It's the second Bullet Journal thread! For the benefit of newbies - Bullet Journal is a brilliant way to organise your whole life in a lovely notebook. Perfect for anyone who has tried every app and every scheduling system but just can't seem to get on top of things. Also perfect for lovers of beautiful stationery and especially for people who like lists!

Sooo - get out your fineliners and your washi tape! Stroke your Leuchtturms! And get all that stuff that's whizzing round in your head out onto paper instead!

Soupy

Here is a moch up with old pages.
I can't buy any more stuff. DS2 has lost his PE bag with footbal trainers and school shoes in it (had other trainers on) which will all need replacing costing £100 plus & just arranged dishwasher to be fixed, another £120. And that's only the icing on the cake having had to buy new fridge, fix car twice, pay for garage roof to be taken (turned out to be asbestos) and ballet gear for DD.

Tehlu you are absolutely right, gold BuJo for stroking is a total luxury, but cheaper than therapy so it's well- justified! Grin Grin

Mock up dammit.
With photo this time

Good to see this thread still going strong :)

I'm almost a month in and absolutely love it, I've recently added a slimming world food diary page (although I'm not 100% happy with it so I'm hoping to see some lovely photos for inspiration).

More pictures please :)

JeepersMcoy · 26/02/2016 12:58

I am definitely keeping work and life bujos separate as I am uncomfortable with the idea of having personal stuff lieing around at work. I know I would end up restricting what I write just case someone from work picked it up. Also, I do try and keep work and personal separate anyway so it helps keep the boundaries strong.

BYOSnowman · 26/02/2016 13:02

Well I've just bought an exercise bike so I can put '15 mins on bike' in my habit tracker

I did get it cheap but not sure I've saved any money yet!!

Vistaverde · 26/02/2016 13:20

Checking in on the new thread and busily trying to catch up.

I am now three weeks in of my home Bujo and loving it. I have added weekly trackers which I set up towards the end of the previous week. I like to see my week laid out and I find this helps me to plan in all my tasks. My dailies then follow.

A big thank you to whoever came up with the idea for the Megalist. I had last week off as it was half term and I managed to get through a fair number of these jobs. Without the list I wouldn't have had a clue as to what needed doing.

This week I have set up my Bujo for work. Its early days but already feel like I am feeling the benefit in terms of organisation. I also like having my schedule, to dos and meeting notes all in one place.

I am really pleased that the thread is still going as it great for ideas and tips.

Now to catch up with the rest of the thread.

Vista

It was OliviaMumsnet's who told us about the Megalist her friend used. Such a brilliant idea.

And I'm going to do the same as you - I need weekly logs for weeks's events inc repeat stuff and daily logs for tasks.
That's the 2 things I need the most.
I really hope my White BuJo will arrive by Monday, I'm eager to start it properly, ready for March

SoupDragon · 26/02/2016 14:31

You need pretty stationery more than your child needs PE kit.

justkeeponsmiling · 26/02/2016 14:50

Hi there, I love the idea of this! Honestly, how can I never have heard of this?? I constantly feel that things get on top of me and I struggle to get s**t done because my head is so full of stuff and to-do lists. I also love a good list to try and help me organise my thoughts but I always end up loosing them. This sounds perfect for me!
Please could you inspire me as to what size journal works best for you? And do you all tend to use lined or completely blank pages? Or have any brand suggestions/links? That would be fab!

CoperCabana · 26/02/2016 14:53

Need to catch up on this new thread but you guys are my people. StrokersOfStationeryAnonymous!

TheVeryThing · 26/02/2016 14:55

Grin at soupdragon.
Delighted it turned up Kew .
I'm finding it increasingly difficult to participate in this thread without using the word 'BuJo'.
I'm using mine for work and home as I will get too confused otherwise.
I often get stressed thinking about work stuff when I'm at home, but now at least I can just write it down and feel a bit more in control.
As zing's friend pointed out, you still have to actually look at the thing, and then do the stuff, but I find over the last few days that I'm really keen to actually cross things of my list and generally more conscious of what I need to be doing.
merciful, you'll be so organised and efficient by the time you start your new job that you'll just glide through it!
My diary cover arrived, and thankfully doesn't have 'organised mum' written anywhere on it, which was my biggest fear.
I love the colour and the quality seems good but it's quite a bit bigger than expected. It's advertised as A5 and I stupidly didn't look at the dimensions.
My notebook slots in easily, and I can also fit my little ruler and post it notes, as well as 4 pens, so that's good.
I have been just keeping it in my handbag and taking it everywhere but not sure about that now. It does fit, but I might not want to lug it around all the time.
I'll try to post a picture from my phone later, in case anyone else is interested

BYOSnowman · 26/02/2016 15:00

I would be interested thing

I'd like to have one with a permanent collection book and a time book so to speak but keep them in the same place

TheVeryThing · 26/02/2016 15:06

Here goes!

BuJo Wankers 2 - declutter your mind!
TheVeryThing · 26/02/2016 15:08

I've cut the right hand side off, but there are two more pens next to the blue one

plumstone · 26/02/2016 15:57

Ok, so having lurked and read, and re read and lurked a bit more, posted in the original thread, realised there is a new thread, cut, copied and pasted this to here - I have just spent time a a couple of stationary shops and bought:

Leuchtturm dotted in a lovely sludgy green
Washi tape x 3
Mini pack of highlighters
reinforced tabs for sections
Also a pack of stickers specifically under the filofax name and they are little dots with pics of stuff on them designed for organising: i.e. martini glass for social, a house to indicate domestic, a plane for holidays etc
A pencil case and two pens, black and blue.
FFS - no pen loop I am a failure

I did see a woman look knowingly at me clutching washi tape - none of you lovely ladies have been in Tottenham Court Road PaperChase today?

I have and I think this is key to the whole exercise and the most exciting is that I am completely free all weekend (well one thing to do early tomorrow morning) so from 10am tomorrow I am going to become an Expert BUJO wanker grin I am stupidly excited

I did a trial during Feb, in a notebook I already had, just to ensure this was going to work and it did - I luffs is - no stress trying to remember, just write it down and then thats it - 30 mins in bed each evening just checking stuff, or moving forward I am so happy grin

plumstone · 26/02/2016 16:01

These are the stickers - I am so excited!!

BuJo Wankers 2 - declutter your mind!
Mookbark · 26/02/2016 16:11

Plum you are here as well! I just posted on the other thread. I like the stickers.
Just a lot of us are using A5 size, any smaller I think would be too small and if you want to carry it around, then A4 would be a bit big. If you are going to keep it at home, like some people do, A4 would be OK.
The leuchtturm1917 are very popular. I have the dotted, which I love. I wouldn't personally recommend lines as it makes it trickier to make boxes, etc you may want to do.

plumstone · 26/02/2016 16:16

I am Mook - and I keep taking the stickers out my bag and staring at them - I feel "stroking the book" is one very short step away!!

Mookbark · 26/02/2016 16:18

I don't think you are a proper BuJoer if you don't stroke the book GrinGrin

SoupDragon · 26/02/2016 16:27

In fact, as Zing has proved, you need a book purely for stroking.

plumstone · 26/02/2016 16:28

I am saving the stroking till this evening - My office is pretty laid back, but that may be seen as odd!!

Eggsandketchup · 26/02/2016 16:33

Hey! Marking place. I love my bujo. Mine isn't all fancy with fancy stickers or washi tape (I still don't know what that is meant to be for) but I did print out mini monthly calendars for my future log. And it is a bright yellow leuchtrumumumumthingy (however you spell that).

I'm getting married soon so I have a section for organising that, a list of stuff I need to buy in general, house stuff that needs doing, diet diary (I'm doing that blood group diet), and exercise log.

what other sections do you lot have?

mamamermaid · 26/02/2016 16:34

I'm
Marking place for later. I think I need this!!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 26/02/2016 16:41

Soup

Grin I have composed a letter to headteacher, written with green glitter pen (that's DS2's colour) and I used highlighters to emphasise words such as "need" "more" "pretty" & "stationery". I think he'll be lenient...

BTW please put me in your will, if not to inherit your stationery stuff, but your wool stash. Hook you very much
