willhazboz · 06/04/2016 17:11

Oh and does anyone have any tips on bleaching clothes? A pair of white leggings and a tshirt have orange stains in (dd's not mine!) and I have vanished, used napisan, boil washed but I am scared to bleach as I've never done it before.

Kim82 · 07/04/2016 09:28

Morning everyone. I've been doing the day to day stuff and keeping on top of the house but I need to do a deep clean this next week as we have people coming to stay a week on Saturday so I need to get myself organised.

When bleaching clothes Will I just put a bit of near bleach on a cloth, dab it onto the mark and put straight in the washer to wash it off ASAP. It seems to work and the mark always goes and it doesn't discolour or go yellow as its not left on the clothes too long.

So, today's jobs are:

  • tidy beds
  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen
  • washing first load in washer
  • clean internal doors and light switches downstairs
  • clean sister's house

That'll do for now as I also have an interview at 2pm so I'll do another list for this afternoon if I manage to get the above list done.

handbags88 · 07/04/2016 10:55

Aw to your wee doggie Will and good luck with the interview Kim!

My house is very close to becoming a tip.
I've done lots of clearing/declutteeing but I think I may have torn a muscle in my side coughing and combined with the SPD I am not managing stuff like lifting/hoovering.

Target for today is to wash the dishes and pack DH's bag for the hospital. And perhaps shove some stuff from the washing machine into the tumble dryer. We'll see.

DH is on the rest when he gets home.

37 weeks tomorrow, woo hoo!

handbags88 · 07/04/2016 11:41

Okay, I've packed DH's bag
Made the bed
Bleached the toilet and given the bathroom a quick spray
Put away some clean clothes
Put another load in the tumble
Tidied the bedroom
Organised piles of washing to go downstairs

Need to tackle the dishes next...

willhazboz · 07/04/2016 12:09

Well done handbags! You have done well considering you have mobility issues. I was terrible with swelling and spd when I was pregnant with my daughter and could barely move. Although I've struggled with spd it's mainly when I'm sitting down or in bed this time. I'm much better when I'm moving around.
Just stopped for lunch
Today I have:
Cleaned bathroom
Bleached kitchen sink
Dusted and hoovered living room and bedrooms
Window vac-ed the patio doors and the dining room window (inside)
I am in love! Literally wiped over Windows with water washing up liquid mix with a glug of vinegar and then sucked it all up. Came up really well! And it was so fast. Very few streaks and I wasn't careful just ploughed through. Really want to do other Windows but they would require a step ladder and I'm a pretty wobbly stepladder user anyway so don't think it's a good idea at 8 months pregnant.
Good luck with your interview Kim!

celeste83 · 07/04/2016 12:11

Morning,

Sorry willhazboz i'm the last person to be giving advice for using bleach with the amounts of clothes i have ruined over years when using bleach Sad Kim's advice sounds pretty sound though.

Yesterday i managed to deep clean kitchen and mop the floor in there too.

Today i have so far made the beds, washed the dishes, dusted and polished the lounge. Want to do the hoovering of all the rooms this afternoon.

celeste83 · 07/04/2016 12:16

Oh and good luck with the interview Kim Smile

willhazboz · 07/04/2016 12:30

Oh yes I've done what Kim says and they are in the washer now. I will report back! To be honest they are unwearable now so if I have ruined them it's not the end of the world. Just tend to end up buying 3-4 pairs of white leggings for each age range for her and it's annoying the life out of me! Hope I wasn't too stingy with the bleach.

willhazboz · 07/04/2016 17:12

Kim you are a goddess! They are pristine! I will never have to buy several pairs of white leggings again. Xx

AgathaMystery · 07/04/2016 17:49

celeste83 · 08/04/2016 09:56

Morning all. Weekend is nearly here Smile Today i will mostly be cleaning the bathrooms.

Afreshstartplease · 09/04/2016 07:47

Cleaning weekend!

Really need to crack on!

My best bet is to try and do as much as possible this morning before the preggo tiredness kicks in!

Two main areas to tackle today

Kitchen and bathroom

Kitchen first

So far I've cleared and wiped the table, and put some rubbish in the bin but it looks like an actual bomb went off in there

Kim82 · 09/04/2016 08:36

Morning. I have quite a few jobs to do this morning too so need to get a move on (I'm still lying in bed at the moment). I need to:

  • tidy beds
  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen
  • Hoover bedrooms, stairs and landing
  • clean and mop both bathrooms
  • dust living room
  • sweep and mop throughout downstairs
  • washing
  • fold and put away dry washing
  • nip to the shop for some passata
  • make bolognese sauce for tea

I'm off out at 2.30pm for a girly liquid lunch and won't be back til late tonight so need to get as much done as possible before I go. Dh is a hopeless cook so I'm making the sauce so all he needs to do is cook the pasta which I'm sure he can manage without poisoning the kids!

Kim82 · 09/04/2016 11:42

Right, I'm getting there:

  • tidy beds done
  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen done
  • Hoover bedrooms, stairs and landing done
  • clean and mop both bathrooms downstairs bathroom done
  • dust living room done
  • sweep and mop throughout downstairs swept, not mopped as toddler is up
  • washing second load in washer, first in dryer
  • fold and put away dry washing will fold towels from yesterday in a minute
  • nip to the shop for some passata done
  • make bolognese sauce for tea done

I'll fold the towels now and mop the kitchen. Hopefully the toddler will go for a nap soon so I can mop the living room and hall and clean the upstairs bathroom and then I can get myself showered and ready to go out - yay!

willhazboz · 09/04/2016 13:08

Good going Kim!

Hope you manage to make a good start fresh. It's a nightmare early in pregnancy (to be fair I felt good for approximately 2 weeks at about 22 weeks)

Had a productive morning! Not cleaning but we got books and old cards down from the attic and sorted through them and some unwanted wedding gifts (been married 2 1/2 years!) took the books and gifts to the charity shop. Got a few gift things to sell on eBay.

Dh painted the bathroom yesterday so I need to clean it this afternoon hopefully
Go for a walk with the dog
Brush and mop downstairs

Kim82 · 09/04/2016 13:40

All housework is done, I'm showered, dressed, makeup done and just waiting to be picked up. I will soon be childfree for the rest of the day!

willhazboz · 09/04/2016 20:54

Have fun Kim!

I didn't do anything this afternoon. Was completely wiped out by the morning of sorting. Dh is taking dd out tomorrow morning though so I will do it then :)
Have put a wash on though. It's in the dryer now.

Kim82 · 10/04/2016 09:44

Morning, I had a great night last night and have woken up fresh as a daisy with no hangover. The house isn't looking too bad so there's not much to do. There's last nights washing up to do but I refuse to touch it as it should have been done last night and I wasn't even in for tea so that can be done by Dh or Ds. Other than that there is just:

  • tidy beds
  • washing
  • fold and put away clean washing
  • iron uniforms
  • bathe toddler
