And celeste we had a massive snowstorm thing this morning too. All calmed down now but it was bin day aswell so I had to go an rescue my bin from the middle of the road.

needastrongone · 02/03/2016 12:16

will We all have stuff that we are really hot on cleaning-wise, then other stuff less so. My oven ain't that high up Smile

So, I've ironed, done 3 loads of washing, unpacked all my shopping, emptied the bins, vacuumed and filled up a charity bag and tidied up.

I need to walk the dogs again, do my hair (it's insane!!!!), cook tea and check/update banking.

Kim82 · 02/03/2016 12:32

Good afternoon everyone. I've spent the morning scrubbing my sister's house so that's one job done, the list for my house which I have yet to start is:

  • washing
  • fold and put away washing in dryer
  • wash breakfast dishes and wipe over worktops
  • tidy all the crap away in the kitchen
  • tidy living room
  • dust living room
  • put shoes on the shoe rack in the hall (rather than just thrown near it)
  • sweep and mop throughout downstairs
  • clean and mop downstairs bathroom

That'll do for now but I need to eat first, I'm bloody starving!!

Kim82 · 02/03/2016 14:44
  • washing one load in washer, another in dryer
  • fold and put away washing in dryer done
  • wash breakfast dishes and wipe over worktops done
  • tidy all the crap away in the kitchen done
  • tidy living room done
  • dust living room done
  • put shoes on the shoe rack in the hall (rather than just thrown near it) done
  • sweep and mop throughout downstairs done
  • clean and mop downstairs bathroom done

Quite proud of myself that I got all that done whilst dd3 was napping. She had just woken up as I started typing this and no doubt she'll trash the place within minutes.

My list for this evening is:

  • make tea
  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen
  • clean and mop upstairs bathroom
  • bathe dd3 and force dd1 into the shower
  • tidy away toddler's toys
  • more washing
  • fold and put away clean clothes once dry

I can't think of anything else that might need doing but no doubt there'll be something - there always is!

needastrongone · 02/03/2016 15:06

2nd dog walk done (slightly short, as ddog1 has a sore paw), washing swapped again, hair no longer insane (!!), banking done too.

Are we allowed to put' pour glass of wine' as a chore? Grin

handbags88 · 02/03/2016 17:29

Evening all!

I'm just in from work, DH has done the dishes and wiped down the worktops (at last)

I have:

Put a tumble load on
Put a wash on
Brought the dirty laundry down
Made the bed

Need to:

Hoover
Clean my oven
Wipe round the bathroom
Make the tea
Clean the fridge
General tidy up

I always put off cleaning the oven - then when I finally do it, it doesn't seem that bad job! Blush

celeste83 · 02/03/2016 17:53

When i said i cleaned the oven i only meant i washed the grill and wiped the oven door lol. Not scrubbing the insides exactly. I find just washing the grill and door regularly keeps it from getting too tough. The less frequent the worse it is. I'd rather clean 5 toilets than 1 oven!

Today i have:

  • made beds
  • washed dishes
  • brought the bins in after bin day
  • cleaned all the windows
  • general tidy up
  • made tea
Kim82 · 02/03/2016 18:52

Evening everyone. I'm finally managing to get whole lists done again - no idea what's been wrong with me lately, I've just been really lazy!

Evening jobs:

  • make tea done
  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen done
  • clean and mop upstairs bathroom done
  • bathe dd3 and force dd1 into the shower done
  • tidy away toddler's toys done
  • more washing just waiting for cold wash to finish in about 5 mins then I'll hang the clothes up to dry
  • fold and put away clean clothes once dry done
Kim82 · 02/03/2016 18:57

Tomorrow's list is just a little one as I have a funeral to go to so will be out for a lot of the day:

  • tidy beds
  • iron uniforms/funeral clothes
  • fold washing in the dryer
  • put more washing in the machine
  • wash breakfast dishes and wipe over kitchen
  • feed cats (dd2 isn't here to do it so I'm putting it on here to remind me in the morning)
  • nip to a sports shop at some point to pick up some new pe socks for dd2

That'll do as I need to leave for 10am so won't get much more done than that.

willhazboz · 02/03/2016 19:07

So weather was horrendous so bumped cream cleaner to tomorrow hopefully!
My oven is clean! I am taking a leaf out of your book though celeste and keeping on top of this! It took me 1 1/2 hrs to clean the glass. When we moved in you couldn't see through it and I put an oven cleaner on it and it shifted a bit but not completely (please don't judge!) but I just ploughed on today determined that I would get it clean and I did! I am going to wipe over the glass once a week (or attempt to remember!)
I also hoovered living room and upstairs and the stairs.
Brushed and mopped kitchen floor and hallway and bathroom.
Just making tea now then I'll clear up. Done handwashing aswell.
Tomorrows list:
Put wash on
Clean microwave
Clean fridge
General tidying
Make tea
Load dishwasher
Wipe down surfaces etc
Test cream cleaner!!

Dd other grandparents have her for the afternoon so after I've done these jobs I am going to have a relax!

celeste83 · 02/03/2016 19:26

Whats this new cream cleaner then wilhazboz

I have now:

  • made beds
  • washed dishes
  • brought the bins in after bin day
  • cleaned all the windows
  • general tidy up
  • made tea
  • washed dishes
  • wiped kitchen
willhazboz · 02/03/2016 21:27

Ah it's only new to me! My windows are really grimy and won't wash clean (the plastic bit!) so going to try astonish. My mum used it on her conservatory. It's abrasive though so obviously can't be used often (probably shouldn't be used at all but it's this or new windows (after I've tried 500 other cleaners!) and we can't afford new windows.)

needastrongone · 03/03/2016 08:30

Well done on the oven cleaning. Oven Pride is an excellent cleaner. Next door get theirs cleaned professionally don't you know? Smile

Working day, so list is

Cook tea.
Wipe over surfaces in kitchen.
Swap washing.
Feed pony and clean out chickens.
Walk dogs.
Mop floor after cleaner has swept and vacuumed (won't mop wood)

Minimal as time poor working days.

celeste83 · 03/03/2016 09:23

Morning,

I use oven pride for a deep clean a couple of times a year. It works really well but is really toxic stuff and the procedure is quite messy so i don't like using it that often.

So far today i have:

  • made the beds
  • washed the dishes
  • wiped over the kitchen

Today i want to clean the bathroom and the downstairs loo. Firstly though i need to pop down the local tesco and get some bleach for the toilets. I knew i used the last of it up the other day but totally forgot to get some when i've been out and about Angry

cheapandcheerful · 03/03/2016 10:14

celeste83 · 03/03/2016 12:49

I'm here cheap.

I have been tesco and got my bleach and got my Mum a Mothers Day card. The geek in me like a lamb to cooperate slaugher plumped for the new variety of domestos bleach in a gold, yes gold, bottle Grin

I have now:

  • made the beds
  • washed the dishes
  • wiped over the kitchen
  • cleaned the bathroom (cleaned shower screen, cleaned loo, bleached loo, cleaned basin, cleaned tiles, put new towels out, cleaned mirror)
  • squirted bleach around loo downstairs ready to clean

Need to:

  • finish cleaning downstairs loo
  • mop bathroom and downstairs loo floors
  • general tidy up
  • make tea

Just having a bit of lunch watching cebeebies with ds Smile

willhazboz · 03/03/2016 14:56

I'm here! Just been a busy bee.
Wash on done two loads and all up to date and put away
Dishwasher done and emptied ready for tonight's dishes
Clean microwave done
Clean fridge done
I also cleaned out a cupboard in our conservatory (it's not a nice conservatory more of a mud room) as we have sold the cabinet we store our alcohol in so needed somewhere for the alcohol. All transferred over prettily.
Tested the cream cleaner done and will do the job but take a long time!
House is tidy and clean. So I am lazing about now!

I have a box of oven pride in and would normally use that but didn't want to risk it with being pregnant so baking soda and elbow grease for me!

I am slowly getting there - much more on top of the general housework and getting drawers and cupboards sorted and throwing lots away. I actually threw an iron out that the people we bought the house off left here today...why did I keep it this long! I wouldn't even have a bath in their old bath I was hardly likely to use their iron!

My husband was so impressed with the oven I actually thought he was being sarcastic! He said he didn't know what has gotten into me recently and did I know I was giving birth to a baby not a health inspector. And shouted at me for hoovering the stairs. Blush he's just not used to the level of clean - poor bloke!

Everyone seems to have been busy today! I am now sitting on my backside watching tele as per doctors orders.

willhazboz · 03/03/2016 15:02

And needastrongone I was considering doing that but my husband would never agree...we had a lengthy discussion over buying a new bin last night - he doesn't think we need one (the lids broken so instead of popping up you have to lift it with the most awkward little thing to hold on to and it's super old and manky) but apparently we need to be careful with money (I agree but it's £16! And we aren't skint) but I was going down the professional oven cleaners or new oven route if I couldn't clean it!

handbags88 · 03/03/2016 15:27

Hi everyone, I'm here too Smile albeit much later than you guys!

This evening I need to:

  • make tea
  • wash up
  • clean kitchen
  • dust/polish
  • get DH to hoover the stairs and upstairs
  • take the bins and recycling out

Not an enormous list but bits that need doing!

Kim82 · 03/03/2016 15:30

Good afternoon all. I got my morning list done and just got back from the funeral. I've transferred clothes from the washer into the dryer and put another load in.

Tonight's list is:

  • buy pe socks for dd1 (I didn't go past a sports shop so will get some in a bit)
  • make tea
  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen
  • fold and put away clean clothes
  • bathe dd3
  • get dh to get our overnight case out of three attic.
  • feed cats
  • empty kitchen bins
needastrongone · 03/03/2016 15:38

A gold bleach bottle you say...... I NEED one Smile

will I don't think DH would be impressed with me paying someone to clean the oven either. I like the Oven Pride, but yes, very potent stuff which stops me using it too often (my excuse anyway!)

I've walked the dogs and fed the pony so far, and sorted the chickens. Just in from work so cuppa then getting cracking!

needastrongone · 03/03/2016 15:43

And the cleaner cancelled due to illness. She better in terms of quality than my previous cleaner (pregnancy forced her to give up), but less reliable. She's promised to come early next week, which I hope she does..

Kim82 · 03/03/2016 17:32
  • buy pe socks for dd1 next door went for us as she was going to the retail park and asked if we needed anything
  • make tea done
  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen done
  • fold and put away clean clothes done
  • bathe dd3
  • get dh to get our overnight case out of three attic
  • feed cats done
  • empty kitchen bins done
  • tidy away toddler's toys
needastrongone · 03/03/2016 17:39

This thread really keeps you focussed doesn't it? I thought I wasn't doing so good, but I actually have to mop the floor now Smile
