I've done some laundry and the dishes. Gonna get the bleach out and do a few bits and bobs kitchen and bathrooms.

afreshstartplease · 08/08/2015 10:46

My bathroom needs a proper deep clean, so does my kitchen actually!

OP posts:
donyourway · 08/08/2015 10:53

I hate cleaning the kitchen but love cleaning the bathrooms.

afreshstartplease · 08/08/2015 10:55

Less clutter in a bathroom!

OP posts:
Iflyaway · 09/08/2015 12:19

I'm here!

DS left on holiday early this morning so I took the opportunity to clean his disgusting room. A load of washing in the machine, cleaned up his desk, picked the piles off the floor, hoovered and washed it. Plus the kitchen floor.

So I'm feeling relaxed now. Not that there isn't plenty more to be done round the house..... Smile

Mulligrubs · 09/08/2015 12:22

Ooh I'll join again. I need to:

~ Wash and tumble dry 2 loads minimum
~ Deep clean bathroom
~ Mow the lawn (it's DPs job today!)
~ Tidy kitchen and do surfaces and floor
~ Do dishwasher
~ Hoover middle floor and bottom floor

I think that's all I can be arsed to do!

afreshstartplease · 09/08/2015 12:35

I keep putting off deep cleaning my bathroom

It's nasty

OP posts:
Mulligrubs · 09/08/2015 12:37

afreshstartplease I try to do mine once a week top to bottom or else I just wouldn't do it. I hate deep cleaning the bathroom but doing it more regularly is better for me. I know how you feel!

afreshstartplease · 09/08/2015 12:39

That would be my aim I think

Once a week sounds good

Why are small boys so messy in bathrooms

Sigh

I might go and do it now

OP posts:
threeislovely · 09/08/2015 13:52

Having quite a productive day!

Clean lounge

Utility is looking better than it has done for years. Two cupboards left to go - thought I would only do 2 but have already done 4, so may as well finish!

Garden also looking amazing as we have strimmed edges and done general weeding too.

threeislovely · 09/08/2015 13:55

We deep cleaned the bathroom last week, including plug holes! How do plugs get so disgusting!! On the upside, due to all the reorganising and deep cleaning earlier in the holidays, it's now so much easier to clean the house!

Kids love it now it's so much tidier - they are joining in with the cleaning! I think it may be the bribery method of parenting - if you clean, you can have an ice cream and 50p!! Best £1.50 I have ever spent!!! :)

Hey ho - off to finish the blasted cupboards!! Then I need to take all the junk to the tip straight away, before anyone reclaims any of it!

Well I started on the bathroom

So far -

Toilet cleaned
Sink cleaned
Shelf cleaned and tidied
Window sill cleaned and decluttered
Window frame wiped
Baskets emptied and decluttered
1 wall wiped down
Floor mopped

Next -

Other 3 walls
Mirror
Window inside
Sides of Bath
Skirting boards
Bath
Tiles
Sweep and mop again

Also need to refix toilet roll and towel holders to the wall

Any ideas on cleaning a grubby ceiling?
I assume it's washable paint as the grub comes off with a wipe and paint doesn't but don't think I can cope wiping the whole ceiling

OP posts:
threeislovely · 09/08/2015 16:14

Wow fresh - you are on a roll!

I might do the other things today and wipe the ceiling another day... Maybe after other people have had a shower and made it all quite damp??

I have just attacked the utility room and cleaned and reorganised every cupboard. And de-cobwebbed everything.

Then I had to chuck away tons of rubbish... Feeling fed up now - I hate housework and my conservatory is full of damp things drying slowly, so the house doesn't look shiny like I had hoped... I am trying to hold onto the fact that it will look nice when things have dried. And I will be able to do laundry and DIY easily because I will be able to find things...

Joining in belatedly.
Done so far:

DS's desk
DS's bedside table (with his help)
Mowed lawn
2 loads of washing
Miscellaneous wall wiping.

One haircut later I need to hoover the carpet.
