I've got a load of clearing up to do after a BBQ last night - taking gazebo down, putting rubbish & recycling out, changing beds from having overnight visitors and having a general good old tidy-up. My cleaner comes tomorrow, so not much actual cleaning today but more clearing up so she can clean everywhere.

I've also got to have a good sort out in my garage, it's full of kitchen stuff as my kitchen storage is pants, but there's loads of other tat in there I need to get rid of. I suspect that this will be an ongoing task....

afreshstartplease · 05/07/2015 10:46

Pot mountain is washed!

Now I will tidy my bedroom, make my bed and put away my washing

I've done everything (EVERYTHING) today. 6 loads of washing, cleaned the kitchen, cleaned both bathrooms, dusted, vacuumed everywhere and washed the hard floors. Time for a gin & tonic Grin

afreshstartplease · 05/07/2015 16:13

I am in awe of you rabbit!

I've spent most of the day tidying/de cluttering/organising. We moved some furniture round in dcs rooms yesterday and I've been trying to declutter their rooms again as well as keep on top of the daily bits.

Currently dh is doing the kitchen and front room then he's going to hoover and do dcs dinner, I'm upstairs changing ds1 bed sheets and organising his room. Then I've got to do dd1 and dd2s rooms. I suspect I won't get everything done today as won't have enough time (and the bathroom needs cleaning) so I may have to put some bits back on the top bunk in ds1 room that is currently not used as ds2 is still in toddler bed in our room.
Have three bags for charity and two for bin so feeling that I've got something done even if the place still looks like a bomb hit it !

afreshstartplease · 05/07/2015 17:09

I'm still going but it never looks any bloody better! Angry

I've cleared up the BBQ stuff, put the gazebo away, emptied and filled dishwasher, done three lots of washing, changed beds, taken unwanted online shopping back to Debenhams (and apparently caused a riot as the lady in the queue behind me was miffed at waiting so long...), frozen unused BBQ food, made tomorrow's packed lunches, made and frozen sandwiches for lunches this week.

Am just about to do budgeting, plan for next week's jobs to be done and some ironing.

Might find time for some dinner and a welcome glass of wine in an hour or so.

Phew.

Edenviolet · 05/07/2015 22:47

Finally finished.

Got a huge amount of de cluttering done
Hoovered
Changed Dcs beds
Did three loads of washing
Put away all the clothes
Did packed lunches
Accidently smashed a photo frame so had to clear up a lot of glass
Cleaned bathroom

The house still looks like a bomb has hit it because I pulled out so much in order to declutter(!) but once the bags have gone to charity shop it'll be much better. Getting there slowly but I think I will be busy again next weekend

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 12/07/2015 08:47

Good morning Sunday cleaners! Anyone up for some cleaning company this week?

I've just put the first load of laundry on. Decided to tackle front room first so then I can fling the street-facing window wide open to air everything out without feeling embarrassed and then kitchen.

Getting side tracked with writing a to do list though!

mrsdavidbowie · 12/07/2015 08:48

I did mine yesterdayGrin

afreshstartplease · 12/07/2015 08:53

I am here!

You beat me to it!

3dc fed, one dressed

Half pots washed

Drier emptied

Lots and lots to do but feeling able

Hello, can I join in please?

So far this morning I gave u stacked and restocked the dishwasher, put one wash load in the dryer and another in the washer, dyed my hair (it was desperate), put white socks into Vanish to soak.

DH has people coming over tomorrow so we have to tidy up. The kids rooms aren't too bad, but he wants them spotless so he can show people around Confused, need to tidy dining room, lounge and kitchen, plus my room (when DH gets up as he was out until 6am)

Biggest job is to tidy the spare room which I (and DD1) use as a dumping ground.

Also trying to clear the washing mountain as we go away on Friday.

AuditAngel · 12/07/2015 09:12

About to take kids to swimming lessons, back soon

afreshstartplease · 12/07/2015 09:12

More the merrier

How do you ever get kids rooms spotless I am intrigued!

Dc1&2 have been sent to get dressed

Brew is drank and so I will crack on!

Kitchen first I think

I'm on holiday tomorrow so I want to get things in order today-
Dust
Hoover whole house
Mop
Clean bathroom
Tidy bedrooms
Clean bins out
Put ant powder around house (don't want any visitors while I'm away!)
-have i missed anything obvious?!

Username359185 · 12/07/2015 09:54

What a good idea for a thread : ) I'll join you if you don't mind?

Today I need to:
Clean the kitchen
Put away one load of washing, put another on and hopefully get it dry
Dust all the venetian blinds
Wash the outside of the sitting room window
Maybe swap the couches in the sitting room around

Then we've to go to a third birthday party for the afternoon so that's the rest of the day gone, pretty much.

Off I go to put on that wash...

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 12/07/2015 10:01

Keep on keeping on Sunday cleaners! It does somehow make it easier knowing I'm not the only one.

I've been avoiding the 'frogs' on my list in favour of jobs I don't mind so much. Have now hung out first load of laundry and put on second; changed the bedding; and cleared/tidied the bedroom (much easier, almost a pleasure now, since kondo-ing my clothes!)

I'm going to pop down to the corner shop to get something for breakfast, and some matches so I can light my oil burner, and then crack on with the front room. Promise.

afreshstartplease · 12/07/2015 10:18

Microwave cleaned
Hob cleaned
Pots all done

Looking better already

Blinds dusted, washing put away, other wash put on, dishwasher emptied and partially filled. Plasters put on DD's knee and DS's ankle. DH is putting up the new blind in the ensuite which I've been waiting for him to do for two weeks. If I can get him to put up the new bathroom light that's been waiting on top of our wardrobe for five years, I'll consider the day a spectacular success!

eventay · 12/07/2015 11:35

Beds stripped
bedding in washing machine
dishes washed
kitchen sides dettol'd
both loo's harpicked

Going food shopping in a bit. Also need to re-make beds, sort out laundry. Then the usual wash up after tea and general tidy up once kids gone bed.

CHST · 12/07/2015 11:48

Late to the game but thanks for this...I need motivation. I did a massive clean on Thursday and the place is a tip again ???? I always start with the kitchen so need to load dishwasher, pack away food and scrub work tops.
How do you bleach the floors? I have never used bleach...curious!

eventay · 12/07/2015 11:53

Mix a squirt of bleach with hot water in the mop bucket. The bleach bottle will give accurate instructions but i just add a 5 second squirt of bleach into the bucket.

CHST · 12/07/2015 12:09

Thank you eventay!
