Kitchen done, now for living room. Any tips for cleaning to screens? I can never get the finger prints off no matter how hard I try

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 12/07/2015 13:01

Living room tidied, fridge and kitchen bin deep cleaned, second load of laundry hung out and first brought in. Have put dog laundry on as well and put the dog bed out to air. All windows flung open now as well!

Next up tidying kitchen sides and tackling the slightly backed up washing up. Then there's just the bathroom to do and hoovering through the whole flat. After which I think dog and I deserve a nice walk!

Later I might do a bit more kondo-ing..... maybe!

When I'm properly on my cleaning game, I love the Crunchy Betty site- sadly not really updated any more but tonnes of natural/homemade cleaning & beauty inspiration. Her screen cleaner worked well for me

Have just completed 4 loads of washing having just come back from holiday, washed both cars and now away to clean the grout in both showers!

afreshstartplease · 12/07/2015 15:32

Animals clean
Bins empty
Pots washed

Just the beds now

Then Sweep the stairs and kitchen and then mop I think

Second wash load in dryer, next one in (the manky white socks).

Good thing I was tidying up, I found a party invitation for DD1, for today Confused.

Dinner cooked, plates and pans back in kitchen. Any chance anyone else will do the dishwasher? not flipping likely

Still need to tidy all the clothes away from mpy bathroom (5 minutes) and clear the spare room. I plan to siesta first as only slept for 3.5 hours last night.

Immaculate kids rooms? No idea, never happened here. Will make sure toys are away and clothes in laundry basket

MrsHathaway · 12/07/2015 18:07

Tidied downstairs with DC after dropping DH at the airport (work trip). It looked lovely. A few hours later there are now eleventy million jigsaw pieces everywhere ::weeps::

One load folded, three on the line, one in the machine. Dishwasher run. Dumping ground dining table cleared.

Not bad given presence of children...

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 12/07/2015 19:00

Phew! Done. And I've kondo'd my shoes and books - saying goodbye to half the shoes and about a third of the books.
Now I can relax this evening in my lovely sparkly flat. Hope everyone feels that they achieved what they wanted to :-)

afreshstartplease · 12/07/2015 19:17

alseb · 19/07/2015 08:42

Yes i'll join you.
Just about to tackle about 3 hours worth of ironing. Yippee!!
Spent a long time cleaning and putting away yesterday. I actually like cleaning, I switch off and relax with my zoflora!

afreshstartplease · 19/07/2015 08:57

I don't dislike it

I dislike how quickly it is undone!

So far -

3 dry loads of washing folded
Living room hoovered
Table wiped

OP posts:
irie · 19/07/2015 09:00

You're all so quick! Today I need to

Iron and put away clothes
Tidy living room
Hoover and mop downstairs

But at 30 weeks pregnant will probably take me all day... Just in bed gathering the energy to tackle the ironing, maybe a cuppa first...

eventay · 19/07/2015 09:39

Only a small list today as we're going to an animal park this afternoon.

I've already dettol'd down the kitchen tops and done all the washing up.

I need to:

Strip the beds and put into washing machine
Give both the loo's a clean
Clear the dining room table dumping ground
Make a packed lunch

afreshstartplease · 26/07/2015 08:28

afreshstartplease · 26/07/2015 08:39

I do need to go and get some stuff from tesco but the weather is crap and I don't want to get wet so I may put this off

Living room looks like a toy explosion, needs hoovering surfaces cleaning sofa wiping etc

Need to declutter coats and shoes on the porch

Need to find the table under its heap of end of school junk

OP posts:
donyourway · 26/07/2015 08:53

lol your house sounds a bit like mine. First up for me is to wash up the dishes.

afreshstartplease · 26/07/2015 09:05

Well I've just

Stripped two beds
Emptied washer into dryer
Reloaded washer
And put breakfast pots to soak

None of which were on my list!

OP posts:
Ohbollocksandballs · 26/07/2015 09:10

I'll join you. Today's list:

Declutter bedrooms
Deep clean bathroom
Clean drains
Bleach floors
Sort wardrobe
Hoover upstairs
Dust
Do a load of washing
Wash pots

donyourway · 26/07/2015 09:19

Ok dishes now washed and kitchen all wiped down. Just noticed i'm running out of bleach. Only got a few drips in this bottle left. I swore i had another bottle of domestos in the cupboard but just asked hubby and he said he gave my spare bottle to his sister the other day!!

afreshstartplease · 26/07/2015 09:31

Ltb

I have three bottles

OP posts:
strawberryshoes · 26/07/2015 09:38

I have so much to do today I am feeling overwhelmed so I need to make a list here.

Upstairs is done, but downstairs....

Hoover hall and stairs
tidy toy room
tidy and hoover living room
clear the dining room table (its the place everything gathers during the week)
sweep and mop dining room
clear and clean the kitchen work tops
sweep and mop the kitchen floor
do the washing (3 loads)
do the ironing
put the clean clothes away
clean the utility room

I think I actually feel worse now I have seen it written down!

I also need to pop to town and buy DD1 a new swim suit before her swimming camp next week.

All this while amusing a 1 year old and a 4 year old. Give me strength.
