signing up! thanks for new thread

I have finished 1st Little hug blanket today, very happy about it.

also been pissing about on Ebay for 2 days now, buying more yarn - but can't shop without research so thats ok.

got a fekking cold and feel miserable, but progress on blankets is more than I can ask for. in a few days we can put some boxes back on the loft and I can get started on actual housework & unfucking. fx Grin

gtg, dinner won't cook itself

Marking place on new a thread even though it's Mondayand therefore not much will be done for some days! Managed to clear ironing over the weekend though so not too bad really.

Zing your crafting sounds amazing, I love looking at knitting patterns but rarely motivate myself to pick mine up these days.

Hope everyone is getting over the various illnesses...

ZingTheGreat · 02/02/2015 19:50

At half 7 in morn?! Are you serious?!!!!!

I wouldn't even be able to talk properly at that time (and I start work at half 7, as you can imagine it's not pretty!)

ZingTheGreat · 03/02/2015 11:39

DD was terrified when threw the tiniest, softest snowball at her and cried.
ffs!
naturally I took a photo.Grin

It's just so pretty, can't wait for kids to get back to build a snowman! x

SpanielofDoom · 03/02/2015 12:19

I'm in.

I'm so stressed that I want to cry. I'm currently trying to tidy and clean the whole house ready for a maintenance job to be done tomorrow. Maintenance person will need to go in every room. Basically all I'm really doing today is shoving the junk into drawers and cupboards, then cleaning. This means that I'll be able to find fuck all if I don't start to seriously declutter tomorrow after the maintenance work has been done. Shock
I'm not back in the office until Friday so I'll have a day and a half for some decluttering.

The house is a mess and I don't normally allow visitors in. The worst thing? There's only me living here, so the mess is entirely mine. I'm embarrassed about it and need to sort it. Procrastination and being extremely untidy are the cause of it.

My whole life needs unfucking, not just my house, but I realised at the weekend that if I unfuck my house, it will enable me to live easier and better.

Right, I'd better get on.

MrsNouveauRichards · 04/02/2015 07:22

Spaniel relax, read the UFYH page and take small steps. The UFYH tumblr page is great to help motivate you. Good luck and keep us updated.

Yes 7.30 (fuck sake)

Morning MrsNouveau, I did really well yesterday, just a bit more to do this morning before the visit. Thankfully the guy didn't turn up at 7.30 like your builder yesterday!

comeagainforbigfudge · 04/02/2015 09:49

Well yesterday, I managed to clean bathroom, put on a wash, hit asda for a wee wash and then had a THREE HOUR NAP

Did nowt else! Whoops!

Today
2 washes (one on just now)
2x20/10
Clean kitchen

SpanielofDoom it's amazing how much stuff we accumulate isn't it?!
I found starting in kitchen and keeping that really tidy was a good motivation. Well mine is smallest room in the house so was easiest to do but it does make me feel good to see it all tidy when everywhere else is looking like chaos.

Does take time. Lots of trips to dump etc.

My rule of thumb when sorting is: have I used it in last year, do I need it for records (paperwork), do I have any true attachment to it, if not why am I keeping it?!

Also when I'm sorting I think can someone get use from it? That goes to charity shop.

Lots of luck Grin

ZingTheGreat · 04/02/2015 10:01

naps count as unfucking your exhaustion!
so you have done exceptionally well my friend!Wink Grin

flashyballs · 04/02/2015 13:51

Hi can I join? I'm trying to declutter but it's going to take forever due to now being back at work after mat leave and dd2 (7 months) being very very clingy, right now she's fast asleep on me.

I have managed to sort dd1's shoes out that don't fit that can be passed on, shoes that can't, all that's under the stairs.

There is so much crap Sad

SpanielofDoom · 04/02/2015 15:24

Thanks comeagain.

flashyballs hello, good to see another newbie. It's so easy to feel completely overwhelmed isn't it?

Ok, so maintenance visit is over, house looks quite smart on the surface but I know that every cupboard and drawer is stuffed full of crap! I won't be able to find anything as I just shoved stuff away.
I'm stopping for today, but tomorrow I need to sort out an outfit for work on Friday, and find a few bits of make up so I can do my face for work.
Then I'll tackle the kitchen at the weekend.

flashyballs · 04/02/2015 15:47

Hi Spaniel. Yes it is. We've accumulated so much crap over the years it's unreal. I have a uniform for work and I just provide the bottom half.

So to do.
Pick ds2 up from after school club.
Dinners.
Baths and put clean washing away. I can't wait for the warmer weather so I can get it on the line.

flashyballs · 05/02/2015 07:24

Not much will be getting done today as I'm at work 8,30-12.30 then I need to go shop for some bits.
Already put a load of washing on and will put the dishwasher on in a minute.

I need to hoover, polish and dust, and tidy.

SpanielofDoom · 05/02/2015 10:58

I've done nothing so far today. This is what happens with me, I don't know if I'm bone idle or if it's just a serious case of procrastination. Sad
I switched on the laptop at 8am to check work stuff, which took no more than 15 minutes and I'm still sitting here now. I honestly don't know how I spent my time before the internet!

I'm going to do an unfuck 20/10. Anything more than that makes me feel overwhelmed.
I think I'm a hopeless case.

Wobblebeans · 05/02/2015 12:45

Another newbie to the thread here. This is the mess that will be dd3's bedroom, and it has to be cleared for when she moves into a cot (she's 10 weeks now).

I'm feeling totally overwhelmed by it, and the rest of the house is also a work in progress, especially dd1 and dd2's bedroom, but we are getting there. I keep putting this room off though because it's such a big job! We just don't know where to start! Confused

MrsNouveauRichards · 06/02/2015 07:50

Morning all!

Was at work all day yesterday so very little done. Need to catch up with my yard jobs and exercise the horses today as a priority, then keep battling through the laundry and general decluttering.

OP posts:
flashyballs · 06/02/2015 08:09

Morning :-)

No work until Tuesday now yayyy.
I have a plastic tub in the living room that is my priority today and I will be ruthless, dd1s loom bands are going as they don't get played with at all.
I also use an app called the chore checklist, you can add your own, it's pretty good.
To do

Bank
Morrisons
Polish and dust
Dishwasher
Washing

ZingTheGreat · 06/02/2015 08:19

Happy Friday Unfuckers! Grin

I am working on so many projects (fun crafty things and for Woolly Hugs, not work work!) that I'm doing as little tidying as possible.

but after months of creative inactivity it's just bursting out of me and I have 3 to run with it or else I'd end up being miserable.

It's unfucking on a different level! Grin
