52 Weeks To an Organised Home Challenge 2015 - Who fancies it then?

I'm pretty excited! Realised that the reason I can't keep on top of the housework is because I'm so disorganised and so cluttered. This shoud deal with both, and with a week per challenge, allows enough time for it to be habit forming (I hope!).

Theres also a Declutter your home in 15 minutes a day challenge running alongside it, which looks fab!

Starts on Monday - so, who's in?

Me me me. We are trying to put the house on the market so decluttering in the extreme at the moment but this would help and I want the new house to be super organised. I am in.

Zzzexhaustedzzz · 30/12/2014 20:49

I'm in. Our house needs decluttering and organising badly!

babycakes76 · 30/12/2014 20:49

Sounds good. I keep putting off sorting/cleaning my kitchen cupboards! I'm in too.

AfternoonsandCoffeespoons · 30/12/2014 20:58

Yay! Didn't expect so much interest so quickly! The difficulty now is not starting too early. I've got a habit of going all-out at things like this, then grinding massively to a halt after a few days as I've done too much! Sitting on my hands....

Hmm. I'm definitely decluttering and spring cleaning over the next two months (quiet time at work) but I'm not sure that system will suit me! Only 1 week for crafts? Nope. Not gonna work!

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 30/12/2014 21:27

Ooh sounds like what I need, except we're moving in a few weeks so I'll have to adapt.

TwoNoisyBoys · 30/12/2014 22:00

Marking my place in a nosey fashion Smile

Pixa · 30/12/2014 23:32

Great idea! I have signed up to the January cure too, so hopefully the two will work together nicely.

AfternoonsandCoffeespoons · 31/12/2014 19:20

Hello everyone! Declutter 365 starts with first mission tomorrow - as soon as I find it again (!) I'll post it here for reference. Has everyone registered on the site? If so, you should also get e-mail reminders.

Day 1: Set up a donation and selling collection station.

A nice easy start to the year......Grin

See you all tomorrow!

Can I join in too please Smile we moved house twice this year (finally into our long term house) but with having had a baby at Christmas who is now a crazy toddler, plus combining 2 houses worth of stuff we still have boxes that need unpacking! Plus I am due again in August so we need to reorganise a spare bedroom with stuff into a toddler bedroom without clutter!

Sorry that was more long winded than I thought! I will make a donation box tomorrow Grin

falgelednl · 31/12/2014 19:42

Can I join in too, please. Looking around the house, if only I could ship out the other 4 members of my family so I could get the place sorted... failing that, I will have a go and try doing it this way instead.

Off to sign up for the site. Thanks

falgelednl · 31/12/2014 20:03

We have 2 large cardboard boxes we gained over Christmas that I am thinking would make good decluttering stations - one for donation and another to sell as my girls enjoy doing car boot sales and then saving the money.

Snapespotions · 01/01/2015 03:29

Oh gosh, I'm definitely in! We have so much junk, I really want to get back in control of it this year! That system looks like it might suit me. Will set up my decluttering station tomorrow!

AfternoonsandCoffeespoons · 01/01/2015 10:07

Morning! Happy New Year - really looking forward to this year, now. I've found 2 big cardboard boxes this morning and labelled 1 'selling' and 1 'donating'. The problem I've got now is that until I declutter, I haven't actually got anywhere to put them! Grin So they're currently balanced on the cross trainer until I find somewhere more permanent. #reallyneedthischallenge

I would like to join, desperate atm. Plumbers left house in chaos, they are off til next week.
I have no kitchen.
No heating.
No hot water.
Since moving here I have had a child, who is sat playing with logo.
I have still not unpacked.
Maybe this is not the right place for me.
Maybe I should be looking for an off licence.

violetwellies · 01/01/2015 10:16

Lego not logo

siblingrevelryagain · 01/01/2015 10:26

I'm in, just signed up and will print the list for my wall as motivation/inspiration.

The two things in my life which cause me the most angst and distress are my fluctuating weight and the state if my home. To be sorted on both would be amazing. I'm going to get a print made up and framed with the following quote to keep me going:

A year ago you'd wish you started today.

That sums me up really. The thought of anything taking a year seems horrendous, but actually by next Xmas I could be the size I want and have a happy living space (where I don't put people off from dropping round, or keep people on the doorstep when dropping in presents as I'm too ashamed of the house).

tempusfoogit · 01/01/2015 10:35

I'm in! Sick of living with untidiness as it makes me feel down!

BlessThisMess · 01/01/2015 10:54

Yes, I'm in! Off to find some donation boxes and a space for them!

Pixa · 01/01/2015 11:32

I have started having a tidy up, looking forward to having a task each week to keep me focused.

tempusfoofit, I empathise. I feel like my lack of home organisation has a knock on effect to my life. For example, being a little later leaving the house because I have forgotten where I have put my keys! This definitely looks like it will help. Smile

afreshstartplease · 01/01/2015 13:23

Oh this looks good!

I'm in!

HazyShadeOfWinter · 01/01/2015 13:48

I'm in! 3mo and 2yo in a two bed flat plus a natural tendency towards laziness and hoarding = stress, mess, stress, never ending tidying, stress etc. Cannot be like this when I go back to work in summer.

Plus, am already starting off on good foot as have a few bags in the hall way which I fill with bits and take to charity shop periodically so feeling positive and ready for an organised 2015.

Gunpowder · 01/01/2015 13:59

Ooh I've signed up too! Can't see myself doing all the challenges (don't think I own a single potholder!) but hopefully it will be a good kick up the arse having suggestions and reporting back here. Smile

Chrysanthemum5 · 01/01/2015 14:03

Just joined! I've cleared out a small box in the wardrobe and it's now my donation box (and filled with things already!)
