Morning,
Parents visiting today, so quick clean up in the morning, then I'll be getting my dad to drive me round to some of the shops I need to go to but can't walk. (It has occurred to me that at 37, I'm still relying on my dad for lifts, and I may end up helping my kids in a similar way at 70!)

Flamebat · 05/10/2006 08:27

I will try

jasnDISMemBERED · 05/10/2006 08:28

Give it a go, Flame. You aren't going to make it worse by trying, and you may surprise yourself.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 05/10/2006 08:36

dont think i will fly today.... have severe cold and sore throat - finding it hard enough to sit here and look awake for the sake of the girls.

anyone fancy taking a 2.2yr old and 11 month old off my hands so i can go back to bed?!

IvortheEngine · 05/10/2006 08:42

Just a quickie as I must get cracking. No work for me today as I have a hospital appointment. Good news - I got the job I applied for! It's the same organisation, just a different bit of the building and different work. It's the same grade and everything. But I am pleased, as I'm sure you can tell! I hope to go from 4 short days a week to 3 longer days and I think it likely that they'll agree, so I'll have 2 full days at home to get it sorted each week! Yippee! I'll be back to this thread later.

SusiSkelletonInTheCloset · 05/10/2006 09:00

morning!
breat news ivor!!! hope it goes as you want it

flame: you can do this!! step by step! just do little things. flylady says to have a break every hour for 15 min - that should help

jarm: know that feeling - i started the day with a hot lemon!! luckily ds is in nursery till 1 so that should help too. you've got an october baby too (i think we've been on the same thread), haven't you? my dd will turn 1 tomorrow (can't really believe it!!) - we'll be going away tomorrow though for the weekend; need to plan for that too

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 05/10/2006 09:02

Hi susis - yep - Becky will be 1 on the 25th.... scary how the year has flown by!

I just cant get motivated this morning - need to go to bed but isnt likely to happen unless i can talk jess into going to bed at the same time as boo!

will maybe try and hoover and de-clutter later but right now - its the sofa for me!

peegeeweegeeWITCH · 05/10/2006 09:05

Brilliant news Ivor!!

Hope your hospital appointment goes well too...

Glad we are decluttering in dining room today - did not do anything yesterday!!
So will do online grocery shop, put on laundry, make beds and then get stuck in. Will be decluttering understairs cupboard (it opens out into the dining room so it counts...)

Flame - small steps, it is amazing how much better it looks after only 15 minutes...
I have only been FLYing since Monday, but the difference in my house is already noticeable, it is tidier and cleaner, as a result I am less stressed....

Skribble · 05/10/2006 09:17

Morning all, well I have loads to do, I have a list as long as my arm and none of it flying . But I am finding that even if I don't do missons or decluttering I am still keeping up witht the daily stuff and house still looks fairly respectable, I just try to keep doing things as I go along.

So... I will put a load on after I have a shower, bin emptied and new bag actually put in, dishwasher emptied, breakfast stuff put away. Quick look around me, yes fairly tidy.

Skribble · 05/10/2006 09:19

Oh and I want a gold star as I ordered new hoover bags last night, I was going to just buy a new hoover as I couldn't be arsed trying to order them . When I do buy a new hoover I think I will go for bagless.

TortUREoiseChamber · 05/10/2006 09:26

Morning FLYers.
My head hurts! Ive taken some cold tabs as have runny nose too.Headache because of AF.
DD1 is suppose to be at pre-school in 5 mins but its pissing down and she has a cough still so decided to keep her home! Will have to go to the shops sometime this morning though.
Well done Ivor.
JARM hope you feel better soon.
I need to go empty the dw and not made my bed yet!

Bucketsofbloodydinosaurs · 05/10/2006 09:30

Flame, just aim for a company-ready kitchen in the morning and fit the 15mins binbag-filling when you can much later on. Are you getting some more sleep these days?

Skribble, well done - Bob the Builder would be proud of you - 'reduce, reuse, recycle' - no throwing out perfectly good hoovers . Anyone else getting fed up with Government brainwashing propaganda sneaking in through CBeebies?

Flamebat · 05/10/2006 10:02

J&RM how can she be nearly one??? (Says me looking at my 7 1/2 month olf ).

@ you with the company ready kitchen... My kitchen and lounge I am finally at a stage of letting people into without much notice - problem is the hell hole in the middle of them that you have to walk through to get from one to the other .

I have done 15 mins in my diningroom. You can sort of see that its made a difference... alarm set for 2 more lots of 15 mins later on. I'll try and do some paperwork later too.

I'm getting more sleep - we moved DS to the other side of the room... he's waking less because he doesn't smell milk as soon as he stirs, and where he is further away it takes more than one squeak to wake me properly. Last night I was aware of him whinging, and planned to settle him without feeding him "In a minute"... the next I knew it was an hour later and he was whinging - went for a drink, planning to feed him when I got back, and he was asleep again . Didn't wake up for another 2 hours by which time he fed like he'd been starved for years. Thinking this shows I can eek out the gaps between night feeds more.

DD and DS are both poorly though, so they are very very draining during the day. This weekend is a holiday weekend, so hopefully we'll all catch up.

Bucketsofbloodydinosaurs · 05/10/2006 10:05

I still haven't got my company-ready kitchen today, have been sat here all morning while kids watch CBeebies.

TortUREoiseChamber · 05/10/2006 10:10

Buckets-Im the same! I just don't have the energy. And i know i have to get to the post office this morning because the arn't open thursday afternoons!

Motivate me I am ready to throw in the towel. And not just with flying. I went to work last night and have been told that I need to go through disciplinary over absence levels.

Got home to find the kids toys al over the living room. Sink full of crocks baby still in t-shirt and tracky bottoms not having had his nappy changed before bed.

Feeling so low.

Flamebat · 05/10/2006 10:17

BRRR - LET GO!

Mummy - I'm not sure about your history... why so much absence?

TortUREoiseChamber · 05/10/2006 10:20

Ruby Let the duvets and towels go! Donate them to a animal centre for the dogs/cats etc!
Mummyhill-Hope you don't get into too much trouble at work.DP/DH should be ashammed for not doing any tidying/baby changing.

mummyscaryhouseonthehill · 05/10/2006 11:27

I have suffered pnd yes. Abscence has been 1 migraine april, sickness & diahorea (sp) june and 1 migraine september. Apparently it has put my percentage over 3% and I therefore have to go through disciplinary.

DH is doing my head in as we had a problem with a friend who reproted us to ss earlier in the year and whilst they were involved he was good as gold. Since they have signed it off he has gone back to being a lazy git.

I would love to be able to quit work and reduce my stress levels which would also mean less migraines but cannot afford to so here I am looking after the kids and strugglin with the house work durring the day then workin 7-12 three nights a week and all day saturday trying desperatly to keep it all together and feeling as though I am failing.
