batinshoes · 05/10/2006 21:45

Quootie, I only post on housekeeping and recipes, and occasionally potty training

I was browsing yesterday and saw the enormous one in the pregnancy section. Didnt post but was amazed at how opinionated some people are.

Just chill out here with us. And on that note, thank you to everyone for making me feel welcome as i've only been posting a few weeks

Hello all chatterbox here again
Had a mega busy day as usual- braved the rain and went into town with dd2 in the crapmobile(sparebuggy)still haven't had time to get the puncture on double pram fixed

Getwell soon to susis tort and jarm {{hugs}}.Mummy, sounds like a crappy absence policy just unlucky the illness has come close together.I get migraine about once every few months and can barely function never mind see or move to go to work. Those shifts sound bad too no wonder you're run down.

Ruby i have loads of raggy towels too I keep them for dds poo prob clean ups and they get plenty of use.Saying that she's done really well only 1 accident tonight, first since Tues.Probably down to all the chili con carni she ate for tea.
I made loads this morning in crockpot so we'd have plenty due to guests possibility.Nephew returned from year away and his dad just came out of hospital after bad crash (his partner died) last week.
Guests commented on how different(as in tidy) house was looking so i was really pleased.Nephew said chili was sick was puzzled till he explained it's sic as in good .God i'm only 27 and feeling like an old fogey at inability to follow modern slang!

Only went to town to pay various bills at 4 different banks i know i should sort out direct debits or something.Found all bill slips easily though due to filing session yesterday thanks who ever put me on to that one usualy have to hunt for ages and ends in row with DP over who moved them to which hotspot.

Got to town just as car boot was packing up so bagged loads of bargains.Lamps vases and other rustic looking doodas for new kithen.Had so many containers i bought 3 bunches of dahlias(£1.50) to put in them and living room looks lovely now.
Also bought 3 nice canvas prints for big empty wall.I even wrote a quick shopping list so got washing powder binbags, hooverbags+wood glue all of which i keep forgetting.
Had so many shopping bags we looked like a rag and bone cart at least view of the crapmobile was partialy obscured.Love a bit of retail therapy gives me such a buzz I don't even feel guilty as it was all stuff for house and most of it bargainssounds like you're the same Jasm.
Skribble LOL at the clothes made out of rags and if my DP left a suitcase and holdall out i'd start getting my hopes up.Sounds like we're all living with the same man useless lot that they are {{rolls eyes}}.

Hi to H'nuts too i really need to get my paint out so well done tried washing walls down yesterday but the crayon and felt tip still there (and the culprits) seriously thinking of throwing out all colouring materials.Do a lot of craft stuff with tots but it's meant to stay in the play room and never does .High up shelf needed maybe?DD AGE 2 also going through a ripping wall paper stage.Started using time out on them both mainly over mess made on purpose or destroying things ,can't say it's working yet though.

Well thats my usual 10,000000 word essay perhaps i should start a blog or buy a diary.I've been doing so much more though since i began posting you lot are so inspiring Off 2 shine sink now x

TortUREoiseChamber · 05/10/2006 21:53

squatchette Your posts are always great!
My heads been ok this afternoon.Mildly there at times!
At all your shopping bargains! I want some money to go out and spend!

QuootieSpookypie · 05/10/2006 22:02

gone abit cross eyed - im rubbish at reading long posts! mine are brief! I cant seem to let the threads alone! been off answering people... cannot do boycots!

hmmm... how many !'s ??

QuootieSpookypie · 05/10/2006 22:03

well - fellow FLYers... anyone had/used a big blue medula electric breastpump? Ive been given one and its abit of a mystery to me!

squatchette · 05/10/2006 22:15

Thanks tortoise, feel a bit guilty sometimes when i go on.I've lost touch with alot of people since moving and giving up work to be a carer to dd also spend long periods of time in hospitals in another town so it's great to get some adult gossip on here!
Did you say your family live in Turkey?Think it was you mine all live in Spain and my mum died a few yrs ago so can be a bit lonely at times.
I found a thread on here last week where a meet up of local MNers goes on monthly so maybe i'll go.God i sound a right billy no mates i do have a couple of close friends of over 20 yrs thankfully (honest).

[ANGRY]Bloody kettles just died could have done it this morning B4 i spent all my pennies.I know how it is to be skint too tort had a well payed job as an office manager pre kids and now on benefits until dd gets to school age or makes a miraculous recovery health wise.

TortUREoiseChamber · 05/10/2006 22:16

NO! lol
I had an Avent one but it was hard work!
There might be a website with instructions for it.

jasnDISMemBERED · 05/10/2006 22:17

QP - I've been here almost exactly a year, and still get ignored alot. I tend to hang around mostly here (which is why you are getting daily updates on my entire life) and my postnatal thread (but 1/2 of them are also here now, too!

I've never used a breast pump of any kind. I've always fed 'direct' and as I have no social life, this has been fine. I'm hoping to get to the Christmas meet next month, so we'll see then how I manage leaving ds for a whole everning...

QuootieSpookypie · 05/10/2006 22:17

I have an avent one, and now it is blooming hard work! fine for first month or so. Oh well!

TortUREoiseChamber · 05/10/2006 22:18

squatchette Yes my family are in Turkey. Mum ,Dad and 12 yr old brother.
21yr old brother has just come back to be with his new girlfriend who lives near to me so may have to suffer him sometimes!(he's a pain!!)

QuootieSpookypie · 05/10/2006 22:18

Its not to socialise (chance would be a fine thing!) its to add to various weaning food

jasnDISMemBERED · 05/10/2006 22:21

I use cows milk in food. Does your ds have a dairy allergy, or do you not want to try him yet?

TortUREoiseChamber · 05/10/2006 22:22

I tried hand expressing for food.Gave up after a while and just used water or cows milk!!

IvortheEngine · 05/10/2006 22:22

I can't help on the breast pump thing, I'm afraid. I'd give myself C- for b/feeding, though I managed to b/f exclusively for 4 1/2 months each and ds for 7 months in all and dd for 10 months. I was not a natural and it was quite a grind, all told!

QuootieSpookypie · 05/10/2006 22:24

no allergies... just prefer to use mine. I do have my hand pump, just this one look like it'll suck the hell out of me without me pump-pump-pumping for ages. Maybe I should just give it a wirl and see how I get on

TortUREoiseChamber · 05/10/2006 22:25

Ive worked I have done a total of 3 years and 10 months of BF in total over the 4 dc!

TortUREoiseChamber · 05/10/2006 22:25

Q Just give it a try!!

QuootieSpookypie · 05/10/2006 22:26

DH left it at MILs... Ill give it a go soon

QuootieSpookypie · 05/10/2006 22:27

6 months for me so far

but... I did work out the other day ive had 1 period in ... 2 years

jasnDISMemBERED · 05/10/2006 22:29

My friend has an electric one which she says is much quicker/more effective than the hand pumps (I tried one and gave up with dd1)

I'm on my 24th month in total (3rd child , did 8 each for first two) but intend to keep going longer this time,

TortUREoiseChamber · 05/10/2006 22:30

And thats a great start Q.
I did 4 months with dd1.I didn't know it at the time but from reading on here it seems she went on a bf strike. If i had know I could of kept trying and not listened to now xp2 tellin me to give her bottles!
