How did you all know yesterday to do this?

I did this yesterday.
Although I didn't declutter the huge pile of boxese waiting to go in the loft so I'll do that today instead.

peegeeweegeewoo · 03/10/2006 07:42

Did front door yesterday, as it is inbetween porch/hallway

But, I need to declutter, dust/vac diningroom tody, and same for lounge as I have people coming round tomorrow....

Woke up feeling all stiff this morning - perhaps I overdid the cleaning yesterday....

batinshoes · 03/10/2006 07:56

Morning all,

I did this yesterday too . I gave myself a big list for today but I'm really tired and woke up to a leaking fish tank so have spent 20 mins cleaning up yukky goldfish water which has spent any motivation i did have.

Off out to gym club with DD so hopefully the tea and cookie after will help.

Saw last night people thinking about xmas pressies. I have used the book people and also nurseryandtoys

as both have good bargains and you can get 10 kids books for £10 which I am divvying up between dd's friends

squatchette · 03/10/2006 08:35

Morning all {big yawn},bit of a bad night .DD2 took her self off to bed early we just found her there asleep didn't realise she was minus a nappy till she wet the bed at 3am.Brought her downstairs after a while she fell asleep on sofa then other dd came down to see where we'd all gone hence 5 hrs sleep and a grumpy Mummy.

Didn't get my filing system started or do playroom yesterday.Spent much of the afternoon making phonecalls and choosing car on internet hence my absence .Did do my before bed routine for once though i'm not very good with this one.Kitchen was left clean and did usual 2 loads of washing + drying not put away yet though.

Well i better go and get some get up and go from somewhere and get out of my PJ's need to go do my paperwork at car place.Haven't driven for about 4 years either hope i can remember how not going to let kids in car until i'm sure i'm o.k,never driven with kids in car either

My Dad who was a fireman used to have a driving school he ran on his days off ,they work strange shifts.Anyway he taught me to drive so might have to blag some refresher lessons.Don't know what i'm doing flywise tell you once i'm awake and moving.Bye 4 now {{big wave}}

Bucketsofbloodydinosaurs · 03/10/2006 08:38

Hiya

What do you use to sweep outdoor cobwebs? They're so much yuckier than indoor ones. My porch is disgusting - never occurred to me to clean it up myself, thank heaven for Flylady!
With that in mind I quite fancy investing in a proper twiggy witch's broom but that would delay the mission a few days (not to mention being extortionately overpriced this time of year.)

Leaking fishtank - Noooooo!!! Poor you Tinshoes.
I've done a big shop at Lakeland for Xmas pressies and am adding things to my Amazon basket as I think of them too, will order at the end of the month. Does Mumsnet do an Xmas forum or are they just slackers at MN and don't put it out until November?

SusiSkelletonInTheCloset · 03/10/2006 08:57

morning!!

omg xmas pressies - i so can't think of anything but books is a good idea

not dressed yet - not sure if i should do exercise first or not (think i'll skip it for today)
but i emptied the d/w and put the few dirty ones in so kitchen is clean again
i cobwebbed the dining room and will do outside frontdoor a bit later (i use a pledge duster thingy and just throw it when i am done - eewwww spiders!!!!)
dryer is on - can't believe dp took clothes out yesterday and they were still wettish

it seems to be a nice day for a change though

SusiSkelletonInTheCloset · 03/10/2006 08:58

and i finally found some string and put my 2 whiteboards up - ones already filled with mealplanner and shopping list

tribpot · 03/10/2006 08:58

Another fly setback here after ds' poo explosion on the clean duvet.

Bathrooms both cleaned yesterday. Trib spends entire night throwing up in them. Bathrooms now not clean

earlgrey · 03/10/2006 09:00

15 minutes for the porch???

She's got to be on another planet, if she's not seen mine .....

MrsScareyFish · 03/10/2006 09:00

earlgrey · 03/10/2006 09:02

Are you saying, then, it's not full of dead spiders, outgrown waterproofs, sunhats that no longer fit?

Really, I worry for you

MrsScareyFish · 03/10/2006 09:06

Morning all - it's been a few days since I've posted - I've been rushing around like a mad thing - still flying though! (Well, sort of )

In an effort to save money and stress, I've finally gritted my teeth and sold my beloved horses. The youngster has gone to north of London so I probably won't see him again, but the family were absolutely lovely and did promise to email me pictures and updates etc. The older one has gone to a friend who will compete her, and I'll still be able to ride her. She'll do really well now that she has someone with more time to devote to her. But it feels very strange to be horseless. Horrid really. The DCs are upset as well. DH isn't particularly upset but then he did have to pay the bills once I stopped working. So it's a sad house that this Android lives in at the moment.

Have done s&s, all beds made, load in the machine, and I'm off to walk dogs then will do more later.

asleep · 03/10/2006 09:25

also did this mission yesterday. i will do the back door today. and clear out the utility room as FIL will move my washing machine in there at the weekend. i also have a mountain of washing to do.

asleep · 03/10/2006 09:29

paranoidandroid, sorry to hear you have had to say goodbye to your horses. i had a horse when i was a teenager. i missed it so much when i moved away from home.

Bucketsofbloodydinosaurs · 03/10/2006 09:33

Aaaah, poor Paranoid. Has DH given up any expensive beloved things too? If not why not?

I have got to get off this pc and do some housework/parenting/living. Kids are still not dressed (in fact DD seems to be dancing about nekkid, shows the new boiler is orking ok.)

peegeeweegeewoo · 03/10/2006 09:50

oh Paranoid, what a shame about your horses - that must have been a very difficult decision to make....

Bucketbloodydinosaurs - I used my outdoor (patio) broom for cobwebs in the porch. That way I had plenty of distance between me and webs full of dead things with long legs.... brrrrrr

Just came in from the school run and was very pleased to be greeted by the sight of a tidy porch with clean tiles and an alive (!!) plant in a clean pot by the front door...

Beccarolloveragain · 03/10/2006 10:29

I dont have a porch so Im off to clear out another cupboard at the front door.

Did both doors yesterday

SpookyQuootiepie · 03/10/2006 10:38

Morning! I fell asleep at 7.30 last night feeding DS and im still shattered! Didnt do my door handles as someone told me - do that today. Front door? I might if I have time before DH goes to work as he needs to look after DS while I do it. I am so unmotivated!

Whats everyones top cleaning products as im off to the shops and gonna stock up

SusiSkelletonInTheCloset · 03/10/2006 10:38

wow! this seems to be a better challenge for everyone - keep it up ladies

paranoid sorry to hear about your horses - know the feeling! had to leave my horse behind when i moved to the uk - at least you get to ride it

everyone is dressed!! quite an achievement for being so not motivated

SpookyQuootiepie · 03/10/2006 10:40

Paranoid I loaned my horse out and they damaged her leg abit and cant use her, so I face having her back and I have no idea where to put her as now with DS, money is tight! I might have to sell her and Ive had her since I was 12 ((hugs))

peegeeweegeewoo · 03/10/2006 11:11

Phew, am having a bit of a break and a cuppa...

So far I have put on a load of washing, tidied and dusted the dc's rooms, and to stay with the porch/hall theme I have scrubbed my wooden stairs with some woodcleaner and a green panscourer...unbelieveable how much mud and dirt was ingrained into the wood (it is an old victorian staircase so very old and shabby looking)

I have moved to the ecover cleaning products - trying to do my bit for the environment.
Also tried to get some Pledge Erasers yesterday as they work magic on skirting boards but could not find any. Do they still exist???

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 03/10/2006 11:13

YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

My carpet cleaner has arrived - cant wait to get flying with that lol

Have just tidied and hoovered lounge, but Becky is asleep and Jess is being a minx so havent got much else done.

A friend just popped in with her new baby - he is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO cute, she is only just back from her mums (where she had the baby - us army wives tend to do that) and he is 5.5 weeks old but oh so cute! Had lots of cuddles and a good chat, but was embarrased by the state of the house!!!

Will try harder - need a BIG boot up my rear end!!!
