Peegee - Flash do the magic erasers - used one yesterday on my back door!

batinshoes · 03/10/2006 11:17

Hi All

Tribpot - take a break.
Android - sorry about your horses.

Well, smelly fish water has dried now, thankfully. Just got back from being out all morning but it was nice to see a clean cobweb free front door .

Need to unload wash mach and then plan to hoover downstairs as didnt bless my house yesterday [hmmm]

My favourite cleaning products are Ecover limscale remover - brilliant for shower screens, taps etc. I use Dettol multi-action stuff in the kitchen. Shiny Sinks for my sink - great stuff. Other than that Cif, Flash or babywipes for everything.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 03/10/2006 11:18

QP - bicarb of soda, white vinegar, squirty bottle - fabbo cleaning product!

Also have never ending supply of all purpose antibac wipes and a kitchen and bathroom spray cleaner.

other than that dont really use anything else!

damewalesornot · 03/10/2006 11:21

Hello!
I crashed but am trying to get back to it, no idea where we are what zone or anything So glad i changed to daily digest as haven't been near fly emails in about a week. Been busy trying to decide what to do with or lives, hence name change and been poorly.
Right will go brave emails then shine sink.

QuootieSpookypie · 03/10/2006 11:22

what do you use baby wipes on? I have 3 HUGE boxes full of them and never used even 1 wipe!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 03/10/2006 11:24

baby wipes are fabto dust ANYTHING, clean surfaces - pretty much anything! They get my crome work shining, i alsi use them to clean the tv - not supposed to but it works for me!

They are also great at cleaning fabric - chocolate on my cream sofa is no more after using baby wipes!

damewalesornot · 03/10/2006 11:26

{sad] {blush] I had 2 weeks of emails reaaly crashed badly, do you do a thread a day now then???
Must get going again

batinshoes · 03/10/2006 11:30

Morning all. I have been busy too this am. Just having a break now. DD is asleep. I have wiped all the paint work down the stairs and hallway (3ft by 3ft) I have done all the light switches and door handles. I am going to clean the windows next. (inside and out)
When I got back from doing the morning school run, I could not believe how clean the front door looks. It stands out so much!
Paranoid, What a shame about your houses. A sad day
Bucketsofbloodydinosaurs I hope that fish water does not get to smelly with time. I know when I had fish and the tank leaded,(only gold fish) I could smell the water for months, I lost count on how many times I cleaned it with hot hot soapy/cleaner water.

I use a lot of different cleaners. I go for the offers, money off, bogof, % extra. There are only 2 things I buy whatever the cost and thats wash powder and washing-up liquid. (Persil for both) Its the only brand that does not give DS1 and myself a rash. I got a very bad rash when preg with DS1 and then DS1 did once he was born. Someone told me about wash powder. So I tried all different 1s until I got to Persil, then we were ok. Then I started to buy the washing up liquid as well. I always wear gloves for cleaning so other cleaners are ok to use then.

Right thats nearly my coffee gone, better go and do some more. before I sit here to long and not want to move
Just got to remember where I put my small steps. They were in the kitchen all the time, I cant remember if I put them out in the shed or in 1 of 2 cupboards

asleep · 03/10/2006 12:03

doing the utility room but had to stop as DS was tired and he's nodded off in my arms now. when he's down in his cot, i can get the rest done.

Swished and swipped, washing and drying on the go, dishwasher busy, wipped down inside and floor cleaned. The outside will have to wait for better weather. Hall way cleard of obstructions ti dd gets in from school at least will run hoover over it in a bit.

Anyone want some spicy carott and corriander soup? Went a bit mad and made about 3 litres of the stuff this morning. Not sure if I have enough freezer containers for it.

mummyscaryhouseonthehill · 03/10/2006 12:36

wipped inside and cleaned floor in porch incase anyone is wondering what on earth I am waffling about.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 03/10/2006 12:39

girls are fed, dishwasher is loaded.... will put it on in a bit because jess is all out of bottles after a nightmare night last night.

Intend to swish over with the hoover again - crumbs from lunch everywhere again.

Also need to prep tea for tonight - only pie and mash so only need to do potatoes.

Not talking to DH - he has gone to work and left his mobile at home.... idiot. So no idea when he will be home or whether he has had a big lunch or not (army) and cant get hold of him on a landline because they have just moved to new buildings and the oh so considerate sod hasnt given me the new phone number!

batinshoes · 03/10/2006 12:56

Just put DD to bed for nap. Made my lunch and cleaned the oven doors, kettle and tea/coffee canisters with windowlene while i waited for kettle to boil

Have watered all houseplants, dusted piano and cleaned dining room window sills.

Plan for this afternoon is still to hoover (havent quite found energy for that) and to prune to bushes either side of front door.

Keep going everyone

shazdisembodiedronnie · 03/10/2006 13:02

Sorry haven't got time to read everyone else's posts at the moment - DH and I are having a fling boogie! We are sorting out THE LOFT!!!

And by gum, we have been saving a load of old crap!!

jasnDISMemBERED · 03/10/2006 13:56

Well done on the loft clear out!

I've tidied and hoovered, washing is dry, dinner is cooked.
I'm not too bad at the moment at keeping downstairs ok, but I'm not doing anything extra, and upstairs is going backwards.

I'm going to bring in the washing, then do 15 mins in the bathroomto try and get myself going again.

Bucketsofbloodydinosaurs · 03/10/2006 14:07

I'm obsessed with window cleaning spray now I've discovered how satisfying cleaning windows is. I've just cleaned my front door with it (painted wood!) and the skylight window above the front door is actually letting light in (yet another thing I've found in my new house that hasn't been cleaned for years.)
I'm in 2 minds about buying some swiffer wipes. I use real nappies and cloth wipes on the baby - how can I justify using disposable dusters? I do remember how good they were but I can't stand the idea of them.
Have not swept the porch yet as patio broom is in shed which is scary and spidery but have de-cobwebbed the reachable bits.

jasnDISMemBERED · 03/10/2006 14:26

Well washing is folded, but I got distracted. I have made a couple of phone calls I really needed to do though.
I'm going to set the timer and do 10 mins in the bathroom before the school run...

im rubbish. only showered, dressed, shopped and washed bathroom. rubbish rubbish rubbish.

batinshoes · 03/10/2006 14:35

i'm sooooo tired. I think the last couple of days of hard work has worn me out.

I did hoover downstairs but thats my lot for a bit. Main jobs left in this zone are to mop the floors and clear out the understairs cupboard - eek.

bucket - i love wondolene. I have lots of chrome in my kitchen and it cleans all of that, and the oven doors never have fingerprints on them

asleep · 03/10/2006 14:36

utility room update . must admit, i took out all the tins of paint and other decorating item and just dumped them in the shed

now need to get the kitchen cleaned up. {sigh} it never ends, does it?

boomie · 03/10/2006 15:02

Hi Everyone not been on for a while but still keeping up with FLYing - just. Have de-cobwebbed my outside porch and it was disgusting. Cleaned front door yesterday and looks loads better. Dinner's all ready prepared and feeling a bit smug with myself.

SusiSkelletonInTheCloset · 03/10/2006 15:07

oh my life - you HAVE been busy!!!
sat down earlier with dp and started to watch a movie (ring2) - while having a cuppa and cookies. well, both kids were in bed and dp followed soon after (he works nights so fair enough) and then i thought 'hey, i still can watch while i actually clean the hall' - guess what - i did it
washed everything down, frontdoor inside and out, even skirting boards ]
so well pleased
