A new thread for a new week...

OP posts:
Beccarolloveragain · 22/09/2006 09:56

Flamey - how are you fixed for today? Do you fancy trying to get back on top of it today with me?

Ill do each task with you?

We could spend a few minutes in each room jsut trying to get things back on track?

Quootiepie · 22/09/2006 09:57

I cant be bothered today... feel pants.

JessaJam · 22/09/2006 09:57

I shined my sink before going to bed last night, I was exhausted, but gritted my teeth and did it because I knew that if I didn't I'd be down about it today...

Sorry your not very D H isn't playing ball Flame! What's his excuse?

DH is impressed and thinks the house looks much better at the moment and that I've been really busy recently! And therefore he is helping out (a bit) more...

tortoise · 22/09/2006 09:58

Aww Q.Im not surprised after last night.Have to say you had some good people giving good advice on the thread.

JessaJam · 22/09/2006 09:59

Quootie - pants as in hungover?
(yesterday was the knicker audit day...no more pants okay! )

Quootiepie · 22/09/2006 10:00

hmm DOnt know if its a hangover - just feel sick ... cant eat because I know ill bring it all back up

tortoise · 22/09/2006 10:03

How about a piece of toast? Having something in your tummy will help.

Beccarolloveragain · 22/09/2006 10:04

What have I missed Q? Are you ok?

tortoise · 22/09/2006 10:14

Becca there was a thread last night.
I will let explain if she wants too.

tortoise · 22/09/2006 10:15

oops missed out Q! before explain!

Flamesparrow · 22/09/2006 10:17

I have to sort out paperwork this morning (loads of things that have to be done... not procrastinating I promise), and then am playing with Psychomum this afternoon. But thankyou for offering Becca

DH's excuse... pretty much that I have started insisting that he do more with us, and although he seems to be enjoying it, he seems to think that that means that he is let off anything else. Gonna wait until he has done his first week of being with us rather than the pc, and then start gently hassling him.

Oh, he's also sullking because I've been out twice this week without him.

Flamesparrow · 22/09/2006 10:21

Sorry Q... not ignoring you I promise

SusiS · 22/09/2006 10:36

no giving up here! a slight step back is allright
hope you'll feel better soon

left the kids with couch potatoing tv watching dp downstairs and went to (finally) do something in the master bedroom

cleaned the under bed drawers (were empty anyways) and put the bedding in it.
and i also changed our sheets and covers - i hate that job!
and i wiped everything down.
might try to sort through our clothes a bit later.

i also have to sort our paperwork - dp needed our car insurance earlier and after long long looking i still couldn't find it

well it's still pouring down here (washing is still out) so i instructed dp once the dryer is finished and the rain has stopped to get the washing in and straight into the dryer .. we'll see

Quootiepie · 22/09/2006 10:40

drunk some milk... helped abit. Might get my morning routine done at some point... still in dressing gown!

SusiS · 22/09/2006 10:53

i agree, it seems to help to get washed and dressed straight away! (and to put clothes out the evening before )

i even bought all the bits to start my journal - haven't done it though yet

IvortheEngine · 22/09/2006 10:59

I agree with getting dressed straight away. I was pretty hungry when I woke up this morning and so I didn't, and I've noticed the difference.

I've put one load of washing in the machine and out on the line and another load in. I've put the dishwasher on and unloaded it. I've hoovered the kitchen and utility room. I've brought the bins back from the garage - the wind didn't come our way after all. I've washed up and done the cat litter tray. Now I'm going to carry the portable tv upstairs so that I can listen to the tv while I sort out the clothes. I think I'll do an hour and then have a break. See you later!

tinshoes · 22/09/2006 11:30

Hi all,

Raining, miserable and my foot hurts. Just said goodbye to friend and her DS whoe came over so house is now a bombsite.

Definitely agree with getting dressed as you feel a bit better.

Anyone who is feeling unmotivated just get the sink clean and kitchen surfaces wiped. Dont worry about doing anything else. And then just come and chat on here for a bit

tortoise · 22/09/2006 11:40

raining here too!

Im so unmotivated.Just can't be bothered.Need to do a Tesco shop online as nothing for tea!Have opened the site page but no further.

And im waiting for my solicitor to phone me back so i can tell him what s/w said yesterday.

shazronnie · 22/09/2006 12:17

nice pic tortoise!

Skribble - I agree that listing what you have done is a big help - it makes you focus on positives instead of what you haven't done

getting dressed does help too, but i have to admit I often can't be bothered to choose clothes the night before.

i did 5 more mins rowing today and have just had my 2nd glass of water! (I know you should drink 8 glasses a day, but the most I've managed all week is 5) My belly is less bloaty from laying off the fizzy pop for a week.

Flying today -
swished, swiped, washing on, not alot else done!
Better get a move on

hazelnuts · 22/09/2006 12:27

Hi everyone its not been a great morning so far. ds1 has not gone to school as hes been bad. Hes sleeping now, so hes not well Had to wash all his bedding, now I have to dry it and its raining. We had a power cut at 10am I thought that the metre was out of money, but I had £1:56 left. It was all back 15 mins later.. I have now got my key for the metre. They have put all the money that they owe me on the key. loads of credit on there now! Sky just gone, more heavy rain. posting now before the power goes off.

Skribble · 22/09/2006 12:40

We have sunshine here now and it feels a bit fresher than yesterday it was muggy and windy. I might even have my luch outside as I cleared up around the back door in honour of the table and bench I was give.

Agree lets focus on the positive. I will have to treat DH like one of the kids until he realises I am not a maid even if I do want to take a bit more pride in my house. baby steps with him too I think.

This morning I got dressed earlier before kids went to school and I think I got on a lot better because of that.

Sink is clear, dishwasher on, second load in, washed 2 of DH's jackets that I had been ignoring in the bottom of the basket. Wash baskets now reduced to 1. I will sell the other 2 on ebay I think, no need for 3 huge pop up Ikea storage things especialy in the design of a spider, keeping the pink flower one for in front of the machine.

Swished and swiped and taps very shineyy due to Sheila Shine stuff. Did all the ironing apart from DH's shirts. Ironing now done upstairs in front of wardrobe as there is now room and stuff gets put away immediatly. I don't iron much so didn't take long. Gave the mirror doors a quick going over as I had my cleaning bag upstairs so had it all to hand,

After luch I am going to poundstretchers to see what goodies they have. I like to get out everyday and once routine established I will get backout doing some serious walking.

Skribble · 22/09/2006 12:41

Any old timers does the novelty wear off after abit .

hazelnuts · 22/09/2006 12:54

Skribble. I`m no old timer but I have found myself doing things without even thinking about it now. Ds1 lunch box, I will wash that out as soon as I get back from school. All ready packet (apart from sarnies) before I go to bed. Swishing and swiping everytime I use the bathroom sink. Silly little things like that. I think the holidays from school might set me back with some bits as wont need to do them. But fingers crossed I wont I feel so good in myself for doing all this so far, dont want to lose that feeling.

hazelnuts · 22/09/2006 12:55

packet Packed

tortoise · 22/09/2006 12:57

Does anyone think a thread a day would work/be benifitial(sp)?
