Morning all,

Happy Birthday mummy2ashton.

Last night was the 1st night in 2 weeks I didnt shine my shink but I was knackered and cleaning up DDs wee stains on the carpet for ages. Then buying a new carpet cleaner online.

I have redeemed myself though by now having a shiny sink, dishwasher emptied & refilled, washing on and also I cleaned the shower screen (while I was wet from the shower but it still counts).

Have a good day all

T

Todays mission is here :

Dear Friends,

Today we are going to shine our tubs or showers! We have talked about shining our sinks since you started and we want you take 5 or 10 minutes to shine that tub or shower. Do not get obsessed with the tub being perfect. Just scrub the tub with whatever works. There is no perfect tub/shower cleaner or perfect way to do this. Shampoo on a wash cloth will work! Whatever or however you choose, anything is better then nothing, then spritz it with a little Windex and dry it with a towel like you shine your sink.

Flamesparrow · 14/09/2006 07:53

Why don't they care about the other room??

BarefootJasnem · 14/09/2006 08:00

Happy Birthday, M2A.
It was lovely yesterday when I kept spotting birthday wishes for me (more online than in rl probably says I should get out more...) Sorry so many of you had a bad day, I relaxed and had an easy day, which was nice. DP stayed up and drank beer in the kitchen, so it was a mess when I got up at 6, but he cleared it up before he went to work (without being asked)

Snotty baby still here, up loads last night again

trinityshiftingherleatheryarse · 14/09/2006 08:04

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Put my load of washing on this am (I am finally on top of it), walked into the kitchen after it had been on 10mins and the floor is flooded The seal has perished on the door of the washing machine! Just when I am beginning to get on top of things this bloody happens We don't have a laundrette nearby either so I can see my washing getting out of hand again until I can afford to get the machine fixed Sooooooooo pissed off, sorry for ranting (and swearing).

mummyhill · 14/09/2006 08:23

Chloe55 Rant all you like sweetheart. I would be ranting too if my machine was bust. Do you have family or a friend close by that would let you sling an occassional load in their machine? Or maybe a couple of friends who would each let you sling a load in their machine!!!!!

DontlookatmeImshy · 14/09/2006 08:26

Happy Birthday M2A.

Glad youhada laugh Sorty Hope your back gets better. Take care of yourself.

Blimey looks likeit was a it of a Black Wednesday allround yesterday.Hope eveeryone has a better day today.

Chloe55 · 14/09/2006 08:26

Luckily my mum does live pretty nearby but it's just the inconvenience. It has been hard enough remembering (and being bothered) to do it at home let alone anyone elses house! I guess it has to be done though, no point getting this far and then giving up on it because I have been too lazy to go that extra mile.

DontlookatmeImshy · 14/09/2006 08:28

Oh blimey Chloe. I though i had problemswith the telly!

I'mnot suprised you are fed up. Rant away all you like.

sorkycake · 14/09/2006 09:00

I'm so pleased to be, and read, everyone is a bit more chipper today.

Have done morning stuff slowly.

Dh has wrapped me in cotton wool. Nice at first, guarantee it'll get up my nose by the weekend

I'm off to clean the bath, then do the toilet, which I have to confess I don't do regularly

PA I agree- squeaky wheel.

M2A Happy Birthday!

Skribble, well done for getting through day one!

Skribble · 14/09/2006 09:50

I have a query about the e.mails, do they come through at american times. I was on PC late but al the evening ones came through in the middle of the night. I have switched to a daily digest, will I get them all in the morning now?

mummy2ashton · 14/09/2006 09:51

morning! not done any flying today and dp left dirty dishes in my clean shiney sink!!!!! i think i may have to break up with him
thanks v much for all the lovely birthday wishes!

Skribble · 14/09/2006 09:57

I have started leaving little notes, I have one on the sink saying put dishes in dishwasher.

I am showered and dressed, toilet quick clean in the bowl, wipe round sink and cleaned shower when I was in it. Load of washing on. Not a bad start .

After To buy or not to buy I will get on with errands ie. phone calls and Ebay posting.

What else am I supposed to be doing today, e.mails gone astray.

Flamesparrow · 14/09/2006 10:01

Grounds for divorce there!!!

I have to tell DH when the sink is closed

Did my toilet and bath, but DS has messed up his sleeping pattern, and woke up

damewashalot · 14/09/2006 10:43

FLYLADY: Testimonial: It tripled in size! Wow!
Does it say bad things about me that a feather duster wasn't the first thing that came to mind?

  • my thinkings exactly Dame!

Skribble - I always end up getting yesterdays emails so mine must come through the night too. Someone tends to put the daily routine on here first thing though to help the rest of us out.

I have washed what was in the broken washing machine by hand and put them in the tumble dryer. I did consider leaving them to fester in the machine until I fixed it but decided that would surely be harder work for me in the long run. I ave also cleaned my patio windows and I hardly ever clean them. The kitchen is spotless, as is the livingroom and bathroom. Feeling much more positive now

Skribble · 14/09/2006 11:03

I have just realised if I keep up with the laundry I need less clothes.

I have just put away thousands of pants and socks. If washing is done little and often they will re-appear from the wash an awful lot sooner therfore less clothes required. Must be easier to keep track of rouge socks to as they have less places to hide and are re-united quicker .

Plus if I am not trying to stuff 3 weeks washing in at the one time they get a better wash, Bulging washing machine means the clothes are wedged in and don't get as good a wash.

singersgirl · 14/09/2006 11:07

The DSs are wearing the same 2 lots of pants, socks, shorts and polo shirts to school as I am putting the stuff away. I always used to wash it, but then it sat on my dining table or in my bedroom.

Have descaled shower screen and spent 15 minutes in DS1's room chucking out broken plastic and old torn comics (not his precious Beanos, which I have put neatly in a drawer!)

Skribble · 14/09/2006 11:10

Granny always said you only need 3 max of anything. 1 on, 1 in the wash and 1 in the drawer. In reality that would be the 3 items on the bedroom floor or at best the 3 items piled up on the footstool.

Flamesparrow · 14/09/2006 11:20

pmsl that it is only just dawning on you that more washing = less clothes

Skribble · 14/09/2006 11:41

Just never really comprehended how many clothes I had out of action in the wash baskets or in piles all over the place. I will have to have a clear out as I can't fit them all in the drawers now.

ParanoidAndroid · 14/09/2006 12:30

Morning all.

I've not achieved much this morning beyond the routine stuff. DS is off school (although funnily enough he'd perked up a bit once I got back from taking DD to school). I'm doing loads of paperwork - tax return, pension stuff, animal insurances, etc etc. I'll try and tackle the bathroom later.

Hope the poorly ones amongst us are feeling better this morning. The sun is shining here (although probably not for long as i can see some rather grey clouds) and that is cheering me up!
