It's obviously day from hell everywhere - we met 3 mums out shopping today b/cos we all had to get out of the house before we started ww3 with our kids! And dd (who normally settles like a dream) is kicking off upstairs!

Decided to have an easy day today, so cleaned loo & did my hotpot but not much else

and helllooooo new flybabies!!

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 13/09/2006 19:25

hazelnuts · 13/09/2006 19:49

tortoise... I did not get the e-mail from FLY lady saying to go to bed until this am, looking at the time of the e-mail. lol How has the rest of your day been? Just Putting DS1 to bed and then the night is mine. Thats if I dont do any FLYing

shazronnie · 13/09/2006 19:53

happy birthday jasnem, and welcome babelisa!

I went to birmingham sea life centre today, so barely hovered let alone flew!

Tortoise - whiten grout with a bicarb of soda and vinegar paste. Use a tootbrush to scrub it, leave and then rinse.

Flamesparrow · 13/09/2006 19:58

I say we shine sinks, and quit for the night!

Here's to a much brighter tomorrow!!!!

(I ran away to my mum's for an hour with just DS and came back feeling refreshed. Loving that my lounge takes 2 seconds to clear!!)

sorkycake · 13/09/2006 20:08

Ooh Dh just got back and says his gran's tumour was benign and they didn't have to do a hysterectomy after all!!

Hurrah!

Damn it I deserve a beer, albeit a small one, for the day I've had. Wonder if it'll dull the pain?

Dh is shouting out takeaway's too, heehee, day looking like ending on a higher note.

Hope you had a lovely birthday Jas, I'm off downstairs to eat crappy food!!

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 13/09/2006 20:10

Shaz that sounds too much like hard work!!

Flamesparrow · 13/09/2006 20:10

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 13/09/2006 20:10

sorky thats great news.Bet dh is relieved.

ParanoidAndroid · 13/09/2006 20:11

Hello all - welcome new Flyers! It's great on this thread - we're all in the same boat and there's some good motivation to be had from people if we're having a bad day. Just "shine your sink" and all will become clear

My day has not been bad actually. Had a long session with the GP, weeping and wailing all over her, and the upshot is that because I suffer from anxiety and depression, they are going to try and speed the diagnostic process up. I left her to talk to the neurologist and she has promised to call me by the end of the week with the next steps so I reckoned that's quite positive.

Also having beaten DH round the head with a frying pan, he has come out of his strop, and is being good, strong and helpful. About time frankly but I guess I should know by now that this is his routine. I am just an optimist!

So I've not done a lot of flying today - I don't think I even shined my sink although I did swish & swipe and make the beds. I think as Flame suggests I am going to call it a day, and start again tomorrow!

(oh, and in case anyone wants to call the police, I was joking about the frying pan )

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 13/09/2006 20:23

Glad the will try and speed the diagnostic process up.Fingers crossed for good news.
So do we lay bets on how long DH behaves for???

hazelnuts · 13/09/2006 20:45

Yes theres so good news for the end of the day

I am going to shine my sink and then have a bath and then get ready for bed. Long day tomorrow. See you all again soon NN and take care xx
(I wont put cake to night )

calebsmummy · 13/09/2006 21:31

I was comin on here to ask you lot to shout at me for not shining my sink tonight and quite frankly feeling like I can't be bothered....but I don't think somehow you will, you all sound the same as me! I have had a pretty darn awful day too.

Gonna go unload/load dishwasher (which still works ) then shine sink and go to bed.

Flame, don't be ill!!!! Not good! Hoping yoi feel better tomorrow. The coldy bug has been passed on to us too. Ds3 has a horrible cold, bless him...isn't Medised just fabulous at night!!!

Right sinky shiney time, then sleeeeeeeep!

Skribble · 13/09/2006 22:11

I suppose Flylady does make sense, babysteps seems to be about easing you into a routine while tackling the clutter too. Up until now I haven't seemed to manage either very well and certainly not together.

Babysteps day 2 only required putting on shoes and shining my sink again, manged to do a couple of loads and sweep up a bit of the livingroom without prompting .

mummy2ashton · 13/09/2006 23:28

eveing fly ladies, is everyone in bed?

im just catching up on emails before i go to bed, had a bit of a lazy day today. but downstairs all nice and tidy so im not gonna do much flying tomorrow as its my birthday! might go shopping instead!

mummyhill · 14/09/2006 00:25

Just got in from work and my living room is still tidy .

I am going to load the dishwasher and shine my sink before retiring to bed.

Ohh as it is just about Thursday HAPPY BIRTHDAY mummy2ashton you share your day with my mil who is a lovely person. for you

mummyhill · 14/09/2006 07:31

Hello everyone

Well it is a good job the living room was still tidy as I ended up changing a bed and a soggy 4 yr old when I went in to lift her before going to bed. Whilst trying to settle her DS woke up so I ended up pacing the floor in the living room in the dark till he went back off. Eventually got to bed at about 2 this morning. The kids then decided that it is reasonable to get up at 6.30 again.

Even though I havbe had little sleep I still feel good as I have woken up to a clean and tidy living room, kitchen area and bathroom.

Flamesparrow · 14/09/2006 07:42

Happy Birthday M2A

Up. Dressed - no makeup.. might put some on in a min, but it is p*ssing down outside and I don't really see the point!

Nappies in, and gonna have to be tumbled because I'm not used to the bad weather yet and they will take too long to dry .

Going to try and FLY from school run until 10am, and then collapse.

Flamesparrow · 14/09/2006 07:44

I feel the same about the clean livingroom!
