Hi all, After a pretty rough ride last year (2012) I think I feel ready to start again with babysteps
So who's with me for the journey?

Old and new steppers are welcome!

Lets do this one small step at a time!

Gah, MrScout has put on some educational program about the industrial revolution. I don't mind these "educational documentary" type programs but this is just way too random and I don't want to think tonight. I just want to watch crap television and not think or focus. Gah!

That's prompted me to go sort out the dinner dishes.

HellesBelles396 · 14/01/2013 21:54

Since deciding to go to bed, I have:
realised ds school uniform still in washer
done 5 rows of knitting
sorted camping kit (still needs putting away but the sleeping bags are airing and everything else is piled by where it goes next)
washed up dinner pots
shone sink
written tomorrow's list
replied to emails
wm just finishing now so really will go to bed once uniform is on the radiator. Grin

Dinner has been eaten, table cleared, DW is on, dogs fed, DDs in bed.

I'm sitting here with oil on my heels, can't go anywhere for a while now, and sipping a very nice glass of port. OH thought he was opening wine so once he'd realised I was right, it is port, he poured two thirds of it back for future use. Neither one of us can handle a wine glass full of port, lovely as it is.

Holiday not booked, I'm going in to town tomorrow to speak to an actual person as OH wants a non standard arrangement, typical of him really.

I need to sleep as an ishoo over the weekend has kept me awake, but if I get this oil on the carpets it'll stain.

See you all tomorrow, I'll be late, so apologies in advance.

SmallBoy doesn't do stepping/walking/standing on snow. We went out yesterday during the snow and he was okay until it laid and it meant he had to walk on it (but he loved walking in it, if that makes sense). So.... do we venture out and I take him to town in his stroller which means I'll have to push up & down the icy hill or do I just say "forget it today" and we stay inside in our PJs (have a lazy morning) and have warm drinks and biscuits?

BlackCatinChaos · 15/01/2013 10:15

Morning all, a bit late getting on here. I didn't want to get out of bed this morning so I kept ignoring the alarm clock at hitting the snooze button. We still made it on time everywhere but I haven't had breakfast yet, Shock I am sat snacking at the mo till I go and get my breakfast. Grin

Will do link in a mo. Hope everyone is well!

Scout did you go out?

My dd didn't want to walk on grit outside nursery today.Hmm We just have ice here. We had some hale stones yesterday but still no snow.

educatingarti · 15/01/2013 10:50

Morning all. I managed not to oversleep so drastically today but still feel as though I need to get my brain in gear today! Loads of work based stuff to do to day so I'm not sure how much household stuff I will get done! I'm going to start by doing an hours work then putting a load of washing on!

Scout could you get SmallBoy standing out somewhere suitably non-snowy (eg doorstep) and show him how much fun leaving footprints, making snowballs, snowmen etc is and see if he is tempted?

Only a slight dusting of snow on rooftops here so far

Scout19075 · 15/01/2013 11:08

arti, I was doing that yesterday before it really stuck (there were small patches of stuck) and he wasn't having it. I just plunked him in it (I needed to find my keys and couldn't hold him, the shopping, and dig around for the keys my bad for not having them out first but couldn't hold him, the shopping and the keys) and he just screamed the street deaf. I'm not too stressed about it we get so little snow in this country because my brother was the same way until about 5. In fact, when he was in nursery school the teachers used to have to find a dry (not wet with melted/cleared snow but dry) patch to stand him on where he'd stay for the entire outside time while his friends played in the snow or with the normal outside toys. I am worried about tomorrow, though we're going to Forest School in the morning.

We've stayed in so far. We've done lots of crafts painting, drawing, cutting and gluing and playing. We broke out his Tangoes Jr that Santa brought and they were a big hit. I've done lots of jobs while SB's been playing.

I really just want to curl up and go to sleep.

educatingarti · 15/01/2013 11:57

Tangoes Jr looks great - I have a book of tangram puzzles with magnetic pieces I sometime use with children, but it is aimed at older ones. I struggle without cheating and looking at the answers!

I'd like to sleep too!

OK - spent an hour dealing with most of my backlog of lesson write-ups. Now keeping on target and putting a load of washing on before prepping the first of this afternoon's lessons!

Blush

So much for de-cluttering!

I was looking for an A6 ring binder to put my own paper in and use for keeping records of spending each month. I found one on ebay ( they aren't that common - usually A5 or A4) last week and bought it - it cost £4.50 with free P&P

A big box arrived today. Turns out I've ordered a box of 60 A6 binders! All for the princely price of £4.50! I could use one a year for the rest of my life and still not get through them all!

Anyone want an A6 binder?

TheOnlyPink · 15/01/2013 13:19

ARGH, it took so long to read the replies i missed I have to go collect ds1 now! Marking my place for later ladies. Cant believe we are starting our 3rd week of flylady, that wasnt long going!

BlackCatinChaos · 15/01/2013 13:24

Glad to see you zoo

I'm afraid I'm not good with motivating today, having a down day. Sad

Can't decide whether to take a nap on sofa or have a coffee to try and wake up.Confused
Need to go buy some bread etc --but we are short of cash but I think I will wait till tonight when DH is home. will have to use money from our overdraft--

BlackCatinChaos · 15/01/2013 13:26

OMG !! arti Shock I suppose you can't send them back either!

Maybe you could try to sell them somehow.

educatingarti · 15/01/2013 14:30

I can use some in tutoring. (Give my GCSE students one to put revision cards in or something) and give some away to friends.

As the whole thing cost me £4.50 it's not worth sending them back. It would probably cost me more in postage as it was my error!

educatingarti · 15/01/2013 14:32

Maybe I should try selling them on ebay at 50p each or something?

educatingarti · 15/01/2013 14:33

Hmmm - a fair few of my friends might be getting a "personalised" A6 binder for birthdays and Christmas!!

Scout19075 · 15/01/2013 14:50

Is A6 a quarter of the size of A4?

Scout19075 · 15/01/2013 14:53

I see you already thought of revision cards -- I was going to suggest that.

Scout19075 · 15/01/2013 14:56

Can someone poke me to get moving again?

educatingarti · 15/01/2013 15:06

Scout - great minds thing alike! I have a student who is making revision cards coming this afternoon so I could give 3 to her ( one each for physics, chemistry and biology)

poke ---> Scout
