HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 01/10/2012 09:38

I thought it was time for a new Autumnal thread for all slatterns.

This thread is welcome to all who like to write lists or have loads of jobs to get done or if you need a kick up the bum for motivation. Also good for support with relationships, random advice on moths and birthday cakes!

We welcome new slatterns, post your lists here.

Back in a sec with my list.

Am afraid that the house is in that state of complete and utter chaos that happens before Mary Poppins arrives. No room is unaffected. My treat escape plan is going to the osteopath. Hmm

Slatternismymiddlename · 23/10/2012 11:14

Morning. Sorry for radio silence. I woke up on Monday morning and couldn't get out of bed, I have pulled something in my back. Bad news is I can't get into work or get any housework done, good news I am too drugged up on painkillers and anti inflammatories to care.

I had agreed (before my back went) to have kids round for a Halloween party on Saturday. I think it will have to be dim lighting all around!

In the meantime I will sit in my little head fuzz and dream about the mega declutter/tidy that I will one day complete.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 23/10/2012 13:43

Help meeeeeeeeee! I still have two learning diaries to do and the parents are coming in on thursday morning Blush I know I just need to get on and do it and they arent too bad once I'm actually doing it. but apparently baking cakes, sorting ds' birthday (not til december), buying xmas presents etc is more important Hmm I only have this afternoon to do it now really as work a full day on weds and the evenings are generally a write off work wise. But despite knowing that even the ironing is looking more appealing.

Even bf called me the procrastination queen at the weekend. Oh dear he has seen my true colours Grin

cikecaka · 23/10/2012 13:48

Oh slattern, hope you feel better soon. Enjoy the drugged up feeling before you have to return to normality!!

Have loads to do as was away for weekend at my nieces hen night!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 23/10/2012 19:15

Cikecaka - I looked at some of my old threads the other day and there on the one where I was in labour in the middle of the night were some posts from you. Really great to look back on it. I was fretting at the time (as you do when you are in labour) that the kids weren't going to be ok but they are...

Freakoid - I hope you have done those reports. Post later to let us know if they've been done or we'll NAG you!

Slattern - hope the pain killers are helping. You could write a lovely psychadelic list with colours and wotnot.

Hi, I'm here, DS2 wa sup in the night for no reason, yawn. And I'm in one of my insomniac-phases, double yawn.

DS1 has a friend round to play today, I've been out to an orch concert, DH is mostly working from home so I got to leave the DC at home, thankfully!

Today:

  • separate the boys from the craft mess delights they have made Hmm
  • lunch & tidy kitchen

  • research extending the dropped kerb outside
  • research some HE stuff for DS2 pattern matching, etc & maybe print out & laminate

  • DC tea & tidy up
  • walk round block? maybe

  • big clear out of the top of my desk
  • tackle dreaded kids photos albums; upload onto Snapfish; order printouts; put in albums. Step 1; sort all photos on iPhoto Doing

Slatternismymiddlename · 25/10/2012 13:28

Hello. Could somebody tell me how to copy and paste on the iPad. I don't want to retype my list each time.

I am back into land of living - sort of. I have a limp from the back pain that has gone into my leg and reduced mobility, but at least I can now move. I better start tackling the house.

Put various drying clothes that are spread out around house in ironing pile
Fill up dishwasher
Sort dirty washing into pile
Count PTA money to lodge in bank tomorrow
Vacuum and dust lounge
Vacuum and dust dining room
Tidy up kitchen table
Dig out Halloween decorations

JKS as a fellow (part time) insomniac I sympathise.

Minimammoth · 25/10/2012 18:07

Slatternis hold your finger on the words and a little notice will come up you can then select, copy or paste. Hold your finger where you want it to be, tap paste.
Coo hark at me techno or whatGrin
Ongoing madness here. Scaffolding not quite up, Pv panels being fixed tomorrow if the scaffolders get it done in time. Inspector on Monday. List for tomorrow.
Keep calm
Make tea for millions of workmen
Try to find a corner of house that might be peaceful.
See you soon

FreakoidOrganisoid · 25/10/2012 18:10

JKS I am also insomniac (currently under control) do you think there is a link betweeen insomnia and being a procrastinator??

Last day of term for me today!! and dc are at school tomorrow so I get a day to recharge Smile

Will prob appear with a list in the morning

JKSLtd · 25/10/2012 20:41

CC - does that mean someone else comes into your house to teach her? Could be interesting, or a pain, not sure really. And 8 hours a week? What about the rest of the time, do you have to teach her?

I've always liked the idea of HE, but when it comes down to it, it's just not me. Hats off to those that do it (well those that do it well anyway).
I am into getting resources for DS2 particularly, got a juicy new catalogue of educational stuff to drool over, all far too ££ really but gives me ideas for stuff to try and make at home or sources more cheaply.

JKS, she goes into the school completion office 2 mornings a week as well. she does art therapy on a monday. These are big steps for her as she doesnt leave the house. she will have the 8 hrs at home, I presume the tutor will set her homework as well! Anything is better than nothing [hsmile]

JKSLtd · 26/10/2012 19:42

That's good CC - at least she has some stuff that's out of the house to keep her going with that, however hard. As for, homework - no escape from the blasted stuff is there?!

Have had a bit of a strop this evening, feeling under-appreciated. Not helped by DD throwing her cup at my head whilst cleaning up her mess, then DS2 throwing a wobbly at teatime and refusing to eat anything. & DS1 generally not giving me a minute's peace whilst trying to pack & organise things for them for the trip away.
Not sure why i bother sometimes.
Anyway, DH out, having some freezer surprise for tea + red wine & cheesy film so bound to cheer up soon Grin
