I thought it was time for a new Autumnal thread for all slatterns.

This thread is welcome to all who like to write lists or have loads of jobs to get done or if you need a kick up the bum for motivation. Also good for support with relationships, random advice on moths and birthday cakes!

Hello! I'm definitely in the slattern category and need a good kick to motivate me. Today when I finally got round to it I did manage to get a few things done:

Cleared out understairs cupboard
Sorted out DSs' books that they've grown out of
Organised all the clutter on top of kitchen cupboards (threw out a lot of it!)
Hoovered out the car (and whilst it was out, hoovered understairs cupboard and living room rug)
Am about to have a bath - whilst it's running I'll clean the bathroom, maybe chuck out some of the mankier bath toys!

Tomorrow I need to:
Take car for its MOT first thing (please let it pass!!!)
Sort out the baby clothes in loft into categories and label them
Have a sort out of DC's clothes and my own - take unwanted ones to charity shop and box up the ones we want to keep in case of future babies!
Have a ruthless toy-chucking session whilst DC are at school!

Half hour of housework - it is the week when my cleaner doesn't come and my parents are coming up tomorrow so a little spruce up needed!

Parents coming first thing
Take DS1 for eye appointment (9.40) and then to school. Don't forget lunch and book bag.
Laundry if necessary
E-mail accountant
Pick DS1 up and take him swimming

Just back from my night shift so today will be a short list.

Put uniform in washing machine.
Tidy kitchen
Make large cup of tea and take to bed
Might manage the gym before work tonight
Run hoover round sitting room to clear up dog hairs.

Found AOD (Area of doom) under the kitchen sink. Something had leaked and I ended up throwing lots away and having to give it a good clean.
Also found AOD in the medicine drawer. Where does it all come from? Sorted that too.

Yes you may - it sounds a bit like "meh" which s how I feel today :)

Well, making me feel even worse is that I have a cleaner who is currently cleaning my house while I MN (ooh, can I add the things she's doing to my list and tick them off as she goes )

But I have a list and I can't seem to start it. I spent yesterday doing all the easy bits and am now left with the crap.

Here goes:

Send invoices out to stall holders for PTA fair (15)
Empty paddling pool and put away (mouldy and full of tadpoles)
Put glass protector film on all low windows (Ofsted requirement - Childminder)
Confirm stall holders for another event
Sew coloured ribbons on to mindees towels
Attach fire blanket to wall
Write a fire escape plan (no frickin clue)
Tax return
Change EON plan
Big dust of entire upstairs

Eurghh. Best put the kettle on.

take kids to school, (done)
take dog for walk (done)
go get some phone credit (that one has been on list for 3 days - now desperate)
buy some butter (to make a lemon drizzle cake!)
make a lemon drizzle cake
make something stunningly delicious for tea
hoover (yeughhhhh)
Go to work (mid day supervisor)
have lunch whilst emptying dishwasher
(collapse on to sofa whilst berating self at having done not a lot on the list whilst watching NCIS:Los Angeles)
pick up kids
email stepmum to see if she is ok (had a minor op today)

know - I need to go hoover at least!! Someone needs to give me a shove.....

Don't know if youre a weight watcher but if it were me I'd be thinking that the calories burned whilst hoovering would earn me an extra slice of drizzle cake and therefore worth doing... (and that is why I am chubby)

Well, I have hoovered - and thanks to the (very sensible!!) suggestions on here I have prioritised the Lemon drizzle cake and will have an extra slice especially for you lot - for getting me off my bum!

There is method in the madness - if I make the lemon cake, I have to go out to buy butter - I go to the same shop where I can buy some phone credit - do TOMORROW'S job of pay for the papers and pick up the kids on the way home - a veritable bucketful of tasks ticked off - and AHEAD of myself for one of them!!
