I thought it was time for a new Autumnal thread for all slatterns.

This thread is welcome to all who like to write lists or have loads of jobs to get done or if you need a kick up the bum for motivation. Also good for support with relationships, random advice on moths and birthday cakes!

We welcome new slatterns, post your lists here.

Back in a sec with my list.

Hi Tryingtothink, Gummy and CC.

It has been a fairly mental weekend of DIY and IL visit. I am going to have to pass on making DD a cake as didn't have time at the weekend and can't do it tonight as I have to pick up DS from beavers at 6.15 pm so won't get home til 7ish and will be knackered. So have bought M&S piggy cake. DD will not even remember what cake she had on her third birthday so I'm not going to feel guilty about it. I will ice her some buns instead.

Today
Buy cake for DD done
Take back teddy cake mold done
Buy bits for party
Pick up DS from Beavers
Wrap DD's presents
Card for DD
Card for next door
Get buns out of freezer and ice them

Also to do
Bunkbed for DS's room. Swap kids rooms round!
Get new tyres on car- booked in Mon DH
Present for friend in NZ
Check kids bank accounts
Check life insurance policies
Arrange trip up north
Pay CM extra *

We are having an energy assessment thingy on the house tomorrow. So madness is taking over, involving frantic searches for receipts for doors and windows, checking levels of loft insulation , clearing loft space. Dh wandering around looking like Darth Vader in his face mask. Did Darth ever clear his loft? This involves close encounters with dead sparrows and mouse shit, and all other fascinating crap that you decide must be kept for posterity and shoved in the loft space. Why why? Lesson. Just dump it. Honestly.
See you later if I survive the glass fibre, dust, collection of Elephants, esoteric books, old suitcases, oh and computer packing, which obviously has to be saved for ever.

Good morning All.

I had a lovely but very tiring weekend away with my family. Good news is that as we were not in the house we couldn't mess it up, bad news is that I haven't yet unpacked or done the washing and the ironing mountain is in danger of showing up on Google Earth.

This is the part of the week that I work and so I will not stress about it all until the end of the week. I will post my (never ending) list then.

Now I better go and tackle my work (never ending) list.

Phew HMHB. Good job done. There are some very select elephants in the collection, I will have to give their future some thought especially as they have been packed away for oooo 15 years. Energy inspection tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

I have a pot of stew on, I had plans to do so much more but I think I shall gather up dd2s dancing uniform and maybe have a snooze before school runsBlush

midwife tomorrow so probably won't be on until lunch

HMHB how did the buns go? oh and the cake!

JKSLtd · 17/10/2012 16:08

I'm at the pool, done most things this morning but not looked at the elc stuff, will have to assemble pre Christmas morning but easiest to hide in the boxes for now (somewhere!) dh will get fed up of then in his office.

Dentist called as I was about to walk out the door - could I come half an hour later as they had an emergency come in? I couldn't as had tight timings anyway for sch run & ds1's swimming. Receptionist was useless so I haven't rescheduled. Not impressed.

Exactly hmhb - things are so finely balanced!

Very sad day here - funeral for 13 yr old from ds2's sch Sad
No reason for his death, just didn't wake up.
It was awful, and most of us were in tears before it even started anyway.
Stupid me forgot tissues! Luckily lady next to me had tonnes.

Also had left dd napping with a friend only for her not to sleep as workmen were drilling up the pavement outside, grr.
She managed an hour on my friends lap Envy and seems to be holding on ok so far.

Off out with dh later meant to be cinema but not sure there's anything we want to see on.....

Slatternismymiddlename · 18/10/2012 18:26

JKS - that's awful, my sympathies and thoughts to the family.

No housework done today. Spent the entire morning at the vets because one of my cats is poorly Sad. She is 13 but it's the first time she has been unwell. I wish I could do more for her.

Dinner in oven, half a bottle of wine had whilst cooking Blush. Will try and do something pro active when kids are in bed.

GummiberryJuice · 18/10/2012 18:34

Jks how sad, it doesn't even bare thinking about.

Hmhb Yey for frozen buns

Slattern its not good when a pet gets sick especially when you have had it so long

I had midwife today baby was hiding so gave me a fright but then it kicked the Doppler and heartbeat was loud and clear, so that will keep me going until 20 wk scan

Have fire lit so going to sort some underwear
Need to go to bank tomorrow and see if I can get a hold of ds's Xmas pressie as its released tomorrow and I'm now panicing about not preordering
