I thought it was time for a new Autumnal thread for all slatterns.

This thread is welcome to all who like to write lists or have loads of jobs to get done or if you need a kick up the bum for motivation. Also good for support with relationships, random advice on moths and birthday cakes!

We welcome new slatterns, post your lists here.

Back in a sec with my list.

Thanks Jerry Smile. I'm not employed by anyone as an artist but joined a local art society this year and they hold exhibitions where you can display and sell your work. They take a certain amount of the money so I don't make a lot of money. It's a good way to start off trying to sell art work though.
My painting was of 2 cats.
It is more of a hobby than a way of making money for me at the mo. I might start to take it more seriously when DD starts full time school as she only does mornings at nursery at the mo and I find it hard to fit everything in.

I must go and sort my kitchen in a mo

Can I join?

I've just made a phone call that has been on my ToDo list since the end of August - it took 2 minutes :o Why, oh why do I do this?!

Done today:
2 loads of washing
Changed sheets
Walked dog
Exercise class
Booked a half term family activity

To Do but keep putting off:
Tax return
various DIY jobs; painting, filling giant hole in the wall where the towel hook fell out and took half the wall with it
Sort out DDs school books from the end of last year

The answer should be just to write a list and stick to it, but somehow it's the same things that get left for months to the end.

Artistic congrats on selling your painting. Maybe we should make this into a kick-up-the butt GO AND DO SOME ART thread too! I've sold a few paintings and should do more and approach galleries etc It's also something I should enjoy right? Yet somehow I feel guilty doing it and nervous about starting again.

Butter- in self help organisation type books they say to do the most annoying jobs first and then you will be really chuffed that they are out of the way or something like that.

HMHB - yes, unless you are planning a whisked sponge. Have you got airtight tins? When you say buns, do you mean fairy cakes? Because I would make those and freeze them and then ice quickly on Monday night.

JKS - well done for going to the dentist!

DS2 has just drawn on the walls and it won't come off. DS1 never did anything like this!!

FRIDAY
Morning routine - done
School run - done
Playtime with DS2 - in progress
Dishwasher and kitchen
Strip our bed and wash the sheets
Get DS2 down for a nap
Exercise?
Shopping coming 11-1 and put away
Lunch
Living room blinds - DOOM
School run
DVD with the boys
DSs tea
DH home
Baths and bed
Our dinner and relax

Haha Ali Grin
I didn't manage it anyway. Esp as I decided to tidy a corner cupboard in he kitchen which noone ever looks in . Hmm.

Re cake - if the top looks good then I'd be tempted o just decorate with sweets/ buttons for eyes, etc.

Got laptop working long enough to type some emails then it stopped and I think the messages hasn't gone, grr grr

JKS sounds like technology is letting you down.

Hi Gummi

I have made the buns. Some will be choc butterfly buns and some just fariy cakes with icing and hundeds and thousands/sweets on top. So do I freeze them now or eat them just put them in air tight container and ice them mon for party tues.

If I freeze them now I would have to take them out on Monday morning to ice them that evening.

SOrry not done the freezing buns/cake bit before so a bit daunted. And I when we usually have fairy cakes they last around 5 days and still taste nice. Confused

Freeze now and take out on Monday, although tecnically they should be fine in airtight container, my wee baker neighbour would actually ice and freeze all her buns and tray bakes, and they are all yummy
