HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 01/10/2012 09:38

I thought it was time for a new Autumnal thread for all slatterns.

This thread is welcome to all who like to write lists or have loads of jobs to get done or if you need a kick up the bum for motivation. Also good for support with relationships, random advice on moths and birthday cakes!

We welcome new slatterns, post your lists here.

Back in a sec with my list.

TheArtisticSlattern · 10/10/2012 14:28

Hi all, I have been out all morning so no housework done and I now feel too tired.

I have an ongoing list (on paper) that never ends cause there is always something new to add to the list.

On the up side, I received my cheque today for my first painting I sold. Grin

Seem to be struggling to find the time or energy to do another one right now.
I suppose I have lots going on though! My dd is still potty training - we started in August 2011. she is only just starting to "get it". She has had major anxiety about the whole thing so it has been pretty hard work!

I have 2 DC a 9 yr old DS and an almost 4 year old DD.

TheArtisticSlattern · 10/10/2012 14:33

Jerry I am also new to the thread but don't manage to get on here often. Smile

I stay at home at the moment to look after DD (not in school yet). I am trying to do painting as a way of earning a little pocket money and it is a hobby.

TheArtisticSlattern · 10/10/2012 14:36

Gummi hope you feel better soon.

JKSLtd · 10/10/2012 21:24

I am busy I guess. I always feel if I could just grab hold of each day better I could get so much more done ... Hmmm

Did dentist ouch mouth/jaw still sore and new filling feels weird. And I know I have the same experience for the other side next Wednesday joy.

Tomorrow
Nothing specific just try and get on top of piles of crap around the house...

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 10/10/2012 22:04

Hi everyone. No time to even make a list atm!

Jerry - I've got two DSs, they are 4 and 18 months. The 4 year old has just started school. I'm a SAHM, DH works and I do everything else - hence the need for lists!

Tomorrow
Morning routine and school run
Home

  • dishwasher
  • laundry
  • beds etc
Toddler group Lunch Pick up DS1 Karate Boys tea Baths and bed
Minimammoth · 11/10/2012 08:28

Morning everyone. I have 3 dc all grown up now. And 3 gdc. GS 6, GD1 coming up 3, GD2 1.5. I am also HMHBs mum.
I work from home largely. That's why it's always a mess and thus the need for lists.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 11/10/2012 09:47

Morning

Status report - 2DC's here DD is nearly3 and DS is 6. Just started working full time after working 4 days a week for about a year. And this is why I am tired. DD took AGES to get dressed this morning 'those trousers are too cold' etc. DH works too but is a teacher so works annoyingly less hours than me.

JKS - hope your gob is ok Grin

Slatternismymiddlename · 11/10/2012 10:31

Ok, I'm in the zone, sort of. To cheer myself up I'm going to list what I have done rather than still to do.

DS to school
Breakfast stuff put away
All random crockery loaded into dishwasher
2 loads of washing done and in tumble
1 load in washing machine at the moment and 2 more lined up to go in
Passports located (going away for a few days)
All clean underwear sorted and put away in right place

Now having a cup of tea

This afternoon I have to take the cats to the cattery then it will be tea time and the rest of the day is lost which is why I have to be productive this morning.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 11/10/2012 11:43

Sounds like you are doing well Slattern.

OP posts:
JKSLtd · 11/10/2012 11:48

Oh I have a Dh too! Missed him out. He works away a lot which I mostly don't mind as I like me routines & evenings/bed to myself

My mouth is feeling better but still a bit sore. Tis weird to be able to eat on that tooth though.

SIMMN (I think?) - I often feel that the day disappears come Teatime too. Mornings are my best only time to get things done, esp as dd naps over lunch and then we never have time to do anything before sch runs.

Apols for awful typing am on phone still - waiting for a new modem to arrive then fingers crossed the wifi will work again.

Have
Had a bath
bleached loos
Fffed about

Next
Sew some name tapes on
Do more of pumpkin pompom
Lunch

Slatternismymiddlename · 11/10/2012 11:55

I forgot to say - I have 2 young children and a DH who is both very messy and an excellent blitz cleaner, he doesn't work away all the time but he is away sometimes. I also work part time.

Half mum - I would hate to have to go to full time after being part time. I can't get things done as it is! I don't doubt you are shattered.

GummiberryJuice · 11/10/2012 12:05

Right am back starting to feel abit better

Have managed to paint some shelves that have been meaning to do for aaaages. FreakoidOrganisoid · 11/10/2012 12:22

I have 2 dc dd aged 6 and ds aged 4 (5 in Dec). DD is in year 2, ds has just started reception but is thankfully on full days now. I've been a single mum for 3 years now, which means I've posted on this thread for at least 3.5 or 4 years Shock Fellow slatterns have been lovely and supported me through all kinds of stuff .

I work 27 hours a week in a preschool, 8.30-12 Mon Tue and Fri and 8.30-4 Wed and Thurs. I also have to do my learning diaries at home which usually takes an hour or two a week if I keep on top of it. I'm just starting my nvq3 in childcare too. I'm off sick today (and yesterday) though as was vomitous on Tue night and have to obey the 48hr rule. Was going to try to get up to date on learning diaries but appear not to have done so yet... (did one yesterday so only 7 children to go)

My dc go to breakfast club daily and a childminder after school on the two afternoons I work. This is far far easier than last term when I tried to rely on exh to help out. And as I live just over the road from school (and I want to get my money's worth from breakfast club) also means I can just get the dc washed and dressed in the morning, whizz them over to breakfast club and then come back and spend 15 mins sorting the house out before leaving for work.

I have a lovely new boyfriend who I also have to fit in a couple of times a week it's a real hardship

JerryLeadbetter · 11/10/2012 13:03

Oh, and congrats Artistic on selling your painting, i'm very jealous that you're a paid artist! Envy What was your painting of?

Slatternismymiddlename · 11/10/2012 13:10

Gummi -glad you are feeling a bit better.

Freakoid - could I have an ounce of your organisation please?

Since my earlier post I have

Picked ds from school (got soaked)
Changed the dcs' bed linen
2 loads in tumble
1 load in washing machine and 1 waiting
45 mins in my bedroom removing dcs' toys (seriously, how do they get there?) and hanging up random clothes

Now having lunch then off to the cattery.

Jerry -come hither and tell me more about your fish pie............

FreakoidOrganisoid · 11/10/2012 13:26

Slattern I'm not feeling very organised at the moment. Wet weather means my house is constantly draped in damp washing, I'm behind on my work due to laziness, my personal paperwork is stuffed in a box file rather than properly sorted and filed and the dust is mounting Grin

DD has just been sent home ill
