I thought it was time for a new Autumnal thread for all slatterns.

This thread is welcome to all who like to write lists or have loads of jobs to get done or if you need a kick up the bum for motivation. Also good for support with relationships, random advice on moths and birthday cakes!

We welcome new slatterns, post your lists here.

Back in a sec with my list.

Grin jks. They have been learning about native Americans at school, had a campfire and all sorts. We had to make headdresses a couple of weeks ago and one keener child also made a totem pole of his family and so the teachers thought it would make a lovely half term activity for us all

cikecaka · 15/02/2013 16:10

Just back from a hike with the Beavers to discover that the glass on the inside of my oven has slid down! Anyone know what I could do?

JKSLtd · 15/02/2013 20:01

CC - no real idea sorry! I always start with Google; brand name + problem and usually someone else has had it before. Good luck.

Freak - that kind of thing can really put you off a teacher, can't it?! (and the keener kid's family too!!). What did you make it out of? Are you a dab hand with a carving chisel and a lump of wood? Grin

DD did not puke today, yay!
Had a busy day with PTA + DD; soft play + DS1; new pub playground + 3 DC.
They are all in bed and pizza is in the oven.
There may be Wine in my glass too :)

Not sure what our plans are for half term but they include:

  • DS2 first attempt at school holiday club (Tues)
  • SN playgroup (Wed)
  • blood donation (me, Fri)
+
  • poss Thomasland trip (Mon or Thurs)
  • poss visit PIL (DH may have some work down their way so we could all go together)
  • poss day at friends for DS1

Good evening fellow slatterns/list makers extraordinaire/ domestic goddess wannabes.

I have not had the best week - DD had her first febrile seizure and was taken to hospital by ambulance. Fortunately she is feeling much better (however I have aged at least 10 years).

House is a tip but I don't care. Will sort it out, with the aid of a fantabulously comprehensive list, later.

JKS - glad you are no longer on vomit patrol.

I am away to feel inadequate about my lack of totem pole making skills and to drink Wine

JKSLtd · 15/02/2013 21:14

Slattern - Wine & plenty of it, I recommend! I know DS2's first seizure was a stressful blur of a nightmare. Thank goodness it was a febrile one and hopefully never again. But be prepared, I have a friend who's son had lots of them :( Once you are prone to them I think they can happen more often. Hopefully the docs told you some stuff, but keep a close eye on her temp if/when she's ill and get in there early with calpol/etc.

Back to the Wine

SlatternismyMiddlename · 15/02/2013 21:29

Thanks JKS, the ambulance people and doctors were all brilliant. She is home with medication in case it happens again but I certainly will not be as blasé about temperatures as I have been in the past. My lovely DH went out and bought 2 paediatric first aid books 'just in case' and wants to send me on a first aid course! I think he is suffering from 'not being there' guilt.

cikecaka · 15/02/2013 23:15

JKSLtd · 16/02/2013 18:09

Wasn't sure which end needed the toilet each time (tmi sorry!), was never actually sick in the end and I am starting to feel human again now. Have spent the day being useless, bed or sofa. At least I timed it right for a day when DH is home, phew.

Am plodding along with laundry, dive some toy tidying - though same as Slattern, the DC undo my work faster than I can tidy...
Have sat and done the crosswords properly for the first time in ages, oh and booked a hotel & Thomasland tickets Smile

FreakoidOrganisoid · 17/02/2013 20:13

Happy birthday Cc!

Today i did my coursework!!!
And cooked a roast. And exercised. And not a lot else Grin

twinklesparkles · 18/02/2013 09:25

Wow! You're all so good..

I've done nothing and no motivation to do anything

I made dh packed lunch and sent him off to work.
Wrapped his birthday pressie and gave cards.

Now I'm sitting on my backside, ds is playing in his room. Which he tidied himself this morning bless him :)

Think I'm gonna put some washing on the line.... Sunny but cold and it just never dries :( so disheartening. Especially when its been out there all day.

Urgh... Sorry not a very motivating post Hmm

FreakoidOrganisoid · 18/02/2013 17:07

Ha twinkle today I have done barely anything. Went to work, went to supermarket, sent some stroppy emails, dinner is cooking and i have exercised. That is it!

FreakoidOrganisoid · 18/02/2013 17:10

(i did also take children to school and collect them again afterwards)
