Autumn organisation for slatterns old and new with support/advice and mugs of tea

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 01/10/2012 09:38

I thought it was time for a new Autumnal thread for all slatterns.

This thread is welcome to all who like to write lists or have loads of jobs to get done or if you need a kick up the bum for motivation. Also good for support with relationships, random advice on moths and birthday cakes!

We welcome new slatterns, post your lists here.

Back in a sec with my list.

Lady Gaga? hmm, not quite! Grin

It won't make the news! I think there are several of these kinds of events a week and our 'hostess with the mostess' is prob totally fed up with them so I feel sorry for her tbh. But that's not going to stop me having a good gawk at the surroundings Grin

JKSLtd · 10/02/2013 14:09

My experience of such a venue was to be impressed by the mahoosive flower arrangements.

JKSLtd · 10/02/2013 20:04

Will keep eye out for them Grin

You'll be waiting a while jks, i have done one cupboard!

FreakoidOrganisoid · 11/02/2013 17:36

I bought one of those magic eraser things today and set the kids loose in the hallway and lounge with it. Amazing! It has got rid of marks i have been trying to scrub off since I moved in! God knows how it works.

JKSLtd · 11/02/2013 18:28

PMSL Freak - I have one of those and I'm such a slattern I've never used it! Blush

Grr I'm aggravated by the sodding Beavers group! They always over-run timewise, I've got the other 2 DC in the car/in the cold, it's gone 6pm, I want to get home, etc, etc. Today I called DS1, of course he didn't hear - of course he isn't already at the door, sigh. So I asked/said can I go in, got him and left. Both a lady in the hall & the one at the door looked at me like I was an alien.
I just want to pick him up at 6 and leave. No I do not want a leaflet about buying lots of cards through them, no I don't particularly care to stand about outside waiting indefinitely while you guys finish up and he decides to wander to the door. Gah, I'm annoyed.

Over for another week....

SlatternismyMiddlename · 12/02/2013 13:59

Hello.

I had one of those eraser things last year and it was brilliant, but as usual I forgot to replace it and so the scuffs have returned.

Things are a bit hectic in Slattern land - DH on night shift so is as much use as a chocolate teapot, DD is poorly, DS is high maintenance and I can't remember a time when work has been this busy. On top of all that a senior family member has passed away Sad. Its half term next week and that will use up all my baby sitting favours while I am at work so no child free time.

Moan over. And breathe (to quote JKS)

I can't think about a list at the moment but will do so later for tomorrow.

cikecaka · 13/02/2013 15:33

JKS, have I annoyed you, please come back Thanks Wine

Clean Kitchen
Empty Tumble drier

JKSLtd · 13/02/2013 17:55

Haha CC you haven't, I was away! I'll have the Flowers but maybe less of the Wine after last night Blush

I went to London and did some shopping, crikey it's exhausting!!
I managed to get a winter coat in the sales (320 down to 190) from North Face which I've been needing desperately these last few weeks - cue unseasonal heatwave...
And tried on some Levi's so know the size I need, they just didn't have the shorter ones in stock so I'll order them online later.
A dress from Reiss in the sale (but not quite right for the do in March) (195 down to 58)
and a silk top from Monsoon, not in the sale but I liked it.

Oh and I went to Rigby & Pellar and got measured by a rather scary Irina from Eastern Europe. Bought one very boring plain bra (for £55!!) so that I can wear it with lots of stuff, she settled on 30C which is doable, wonder if my 28s are actually a little too tight really.

Had a lovely Mexican dinner with DH & my brother who lives in London, too much wine was had by me though, oops!

Meanwhile, DD has been throwing up since I left, and the Nanny has just gone home early cos she's sick too. Oh dear. DD has eaten some tea so I'm just waiting to see if it comes back up...

TO DO:
DC bath & bed
quick tidy round
take tags off my new coat so I can wear if for school run tomorrow
Levi's online shopping
look at R&P online
look at Damsel in a Dress online (saw some nice but pricey dresses by them)
some dinner for me + tv + early night

Thurs:

  • try and fit in some cake baking, when?
  • morning routine
  • DD Jo Jingles?
  • DD eye appt? (hoping to get signed off but depends on her not being sick)

Bf and i did valentines yesterday as he plays football on thursdays. He got me champagne, i got him some silly bits like lovehearts and rolos. Whoops! In my defence i had told him i wasn't a valentinesy person!

cikecaka · 14/02/2013 10:46

Aww Freakoid! DH made me a card and wrote his own poem on it about not having any money but he made me breakfast in bed instead! Was lovely!

At hosp eye clinic waiting, yawn.

Managed to bake before breakfast! Sometimes the early rising is a good thing.hmm

FreakoidOrganisoid · 14/02/2013 12:02

Ah cc stuff like that means more i think. I made bf breakfast in bed too. Cut his toast into a heart shape. He had such a headache (from mixing champagne and beer) that he didn't even notice! Talk about wasted effort!

I am not doing a good job of getting started today!

JKSLtd · 14/02/2013 13:54

We don't really do anything major for Valentine's. I keep the same card and write the year & a kiss in it. DH is away today so I texted him a photo of it :)

He's lost the card he's meant to look after! so bought a new one, but forgot to write in it before he left.

A big priority for us then Grin

Ought to try and achieve something whilst DD naps but i'm tired and cold & snug on the sofa....

Wardrobe is done. Will wait for the weather to warm up before i chuck clothes out but it is all tidy with everything in its proper place now. Have also made ds' totem pole, done a load of washing ad cooked and eaten lunch. And somehow v little else Hmm I think today is one of those write off days!

JKSLtd · 14/02/2013 18:17

I am intrigued by totem pole making Grin

Dd is better but seems to have a v sensitive gag reflex, the slightest thing and up comes everything Hmm
