I thought it was time for a new Autumnal thread for all slatterns.

This thread is welcome to all who like to write lists or have loads of jobs to get done or if you need a kick up the bum for motivation. Also good for support with relationships, random advice on moths and birthday cakes!

DS1 is fine thankfully, DD is still miserable, honestly if she was always like this I'd be packing her off to nursery anywhere and finding any job at all to pay for it! She whinges, she cries, she demands, then whinges & cries, etc. ad nauseam. Totally not like her at all. Hope it passes soon.
DS2 is much better, he managed sch and the nurse came for the 24hr check up and said he was doing fine, phew.

(forgot!) me out to orchestra concert for heart group (need to dress smartly, hmm)

Ongoing:

• family tree (scanning in old certs & photos & email contact); Dug out files to start again; Fiddling about with it a bit atm
• buy frames to hang on the wall & hang up as many photos as poss; need some sizes; get sizes into phone for TKMaxx trip
• sort wills; nudge DH to see what he wants to do
• clear out of the top of my desk
• kids photos albums; upload onto Snapfish; order printouts; put in albums. Step 1; sort all photos on iPhoto Doing
• try and sell unwanted light? eBay + other stuff?

Christmas:

• find out if younger brother might be coming; Still vague
• get some crackers DONE (just cheapy ones as I figure they mostly end up in the bin anyway, recycling but still)
• prob not doing present for DBro in Bermuda; messaged SIL re not sending stuff; no reply getting worried!
• present for Mum; ordered, fingers crossed it arrives in time
• Nanny presents; money & DS1 choice of silly socks; must do for Wed
• decorations; DONE (except I'm feeling like we need more as several sets have died)
• DS2 teacher presents
• wrap Dad's presents
• gift bags for DSis's presents for the DC; 2 out of 3 DONE

Have a bit more work to do but brain not working any more so am going to have to do it tomorrow instead. In theory I have a few hours in the afternoon Washing is about to finish so will write the xmas cards while it dries. Think thats most stuff done...

Right tomorrow begins the MAMMOTH task of sorting my pit bedroom before Christmas.

Okay everybody, now - breeeeeaaatheee.

A collective is required.

I imagine it is not helping that everywhere you go its '7 sleeps to Christmas'. It should be, '7 sleeps until I can stop running round like a blue arsed fly, using every spare minute I have buying stuff, trying to think of original things to do, wrapping, writing to people I haven't spoken to all year, food planning, food prepping, attending bizarre school/work events that involve standing/drinking awkwardly,the list goes on'. Not quite as catchy though!

Definitely a feeling of time running out and i'm not talking Doomsday either

DD is marginally better today though currently shouting as i took a pen away from her

Had a busy day out with just DS1, got last bits for Christmas & my Mum's present arrived today. Think I'm just waiting for a present for DS1 from my DSis as she ordered him something he already had. Not sure what to do if it doesn't turn up - prob hide the other 2 until later on then say they got stuck in the office post.

Left today:

• try and wrap parents presents & Nanny's present (need to get cash off DH or from machine for her card)

Am pretty chilled about xmas although allthe extra events are getting in the way of me doing my work!

Kids are in bath. I have dye on my hair.
About to put crackers in bags and wrap cm's present and write her card.
Then wash out dye.

Then wrap presents for kids at work.

With 2 out of 3 DC involved in different xmas 'things' and in different schools as well I have found this year harder than previous I think. With me in 2 orchestras too that hasn't helped, and trying to juggle DD childcare.
It'll only get worse when she's got different things going on too I should imagine.

Made me chuckle a bit when a friend on FB moaned (gently) about how hectic it was with just 1 DC

Getting there.

Bit calmer today. Am in work but with stinking cold therefore not doing v much so can plan stuff/go shopping.

JKS - my DD very perky today so hopefully yours will be better soon. DD actually wore a dress today, with tights and no fuss!!! A first in the last 2 months.

Slattern - I have cancelled on a Xmas do on Friday because a) I have a stinking cold, b) I am fed up of everyone at work and c) there is plenty of other stuff to do in front of fire and Love Actually.

Festive - hope the hair colouring went OK. Reminds me of the time I made the Christmas Cake then wrapped some presents and watched some telly and eek it was a tad burnt.
