Welcome to the thread where we try to do what we can.

Some of you might like to try:
babysteps

Others may just want to do what you feel you can.
Life has a habit of throwing hurdles in the way!
Lets try to do what we can one step at a time.

All newcomers welcome. Smile

Please boot me if you see me hanging around too much today or tomorrow Grin

OptimisticPessimist · 06/06/2012 10:04

Morning everyone. DS2 off nursery as expected so have until about 2.45 to get stuff done with two smalls underfoot

Ta Tahs
Yesterday's washing load 2 folded, load 3 dried and awaiting folding
Today's load 1 in drier, load 2 in machine. Washing basket now empty so going to run some empty hot washes through the machine next as it's probably filthy Blush and it belongs to the landlord so I want to try and leave it in decent condition
Dishwasher unloaded and loaded with dishes used so far

Briefly stopping for coffee and chocolate before starting on my actual to do list Grin

carrotsandcelery · 06/06/2012 10:30

Back again on a Brew break.

Ta Da:
bits of sofa that don't go in machine now scrubbed - agony for me as I have nerve damage in my shoulders
2 of the 5 lounge window cleaned - had to stop as in too much pain, will go back to it shortly though

CatsSleepAnywhere · 06/06/2012 10:37

Ta da's so far:

breakfast for all
me and DD dressed, DS wants a lazy morning
dining table and mats cleaned (team effort) Wink
chocolate eaten as a reward

One way to keep them out of mischief is to get them involved with the housework. DD is about the right age now (3.6) so wants to help. Grin

carrotsandcelery · 06/06/2012 10:39

Cats if you can catch them in the right mood then getting them involved is definitely the way forward. Grin

soandsosmum · 06/06/2012 10:56

Can I join you?
This weekend I polished my sink for the first time. Got really excited looking at my beautiful plug hole when I came down in the morning. Sad!

Todays ta das so far:

me up.
baby up.
Both breakfasted.
Baby dressed
Me dressed.
played with baby
Put baby down for nap
Emptied and re-filled dishwasher
Ditto washing machine. put washing out. hung rest up on airer (not confident I wont have to dash out and get it later)
Sorted lots of empty bottles for making elderflower cordial/champagne next week
tidied hot spot (5 mins only)
Booked baby in for jabs and dr appointment next week
Changed card on an online regular payment thingy
Paid two bills
Bought 5 books on second babies from Amazon

Still need to:
sort three birthday cards and presents (two for today!! ouch!)
check the coolant in my car
organise dinner (tight timings tonight)

carrotsandcelery · 06/06/2012 11:17

Welcome soandsos - that is quite a list already!

Ta Das:
other 3 windows in lounge cleaned
2 windows above kitchen sink cleaned - requires some acrobatics
front of oven and built in microwave cleaned - look sooooo much better

Trying now to summon it to get dog bed no1 into the wm. I can't smell it but guests probably could.

carrotsandcelery · 06/06/2012 11:56

Ta Das:
dog bed no 1 in machine
most of lounge dusted and polished in hope polish stops more dust settling
lounge partially hoovered - doing in stages as I move furniture around and shake n vac sections to de doggify the carpet
part of hallway dusted

having a short break while shake n vac does its magic and wondering where to put dd's golf bag - her bedroom I suspect

carrotsandcelery · 06/06/2012 13:05

Ta Das:

rest of lounge dusted and polished
rest of lounge hoovered
rest of hallway dusted
armchair scrubbed

The only thing left to do in the lounge is to put the covers back on the sofa (but I need dh to help me do that) and to hoover again tomorrow.

I have begun to declutter the desk in the kitchen but stopped for lunch for now.

carrotsandcelery · 06/06/2012 14:03

Ta Das:

desk decluttered and polished
sideboard decluttered and polished

not sure what to do next

Am I the only one flying today or are the rest of you so busy you aren't even stopping for breaks Grin

educatingarti · 06/06/2012 16:28

You have been busy too Arti.

Dd has a bit more colour in her cheeks and has eaten a very plain evening meal so fingers crossed she is fighting off whatever it was or it was just absolute exhaustion.

Does anyone want to borrow my dm as a cleaning motivator? I'm sure she'd love to visit Grin

carrotsandcelery · 06/06/2012 23:18

I can lend my friends as well, if they would help anyone. They usually bring Wine and chocolates, or maybe crisps or cheese Grin

I will swap them for fully functioning shoulders that don't make me want to cry every time I move.

Please remind me in future to limit myself to one small scrubbing or polishing job a day and just to do a little bit every day all the time.

AdoraBell · 07/06/2012 04:21

Hello all, I have t'internet back, it goes occasionally.

Anyhow, puppies are keeping me on my toesGrin between cleaning the kitchen floor umpteen times each hour there's hardly enough time to get them out of the fridge, the dishwasher and the washing machine. Luckily I don't DCs young enough to turn the WM on with a puppy in it, but I still don't want them sitting in there, even if it is nice and warm.

So, today's monumental achievements as follows

Got out of bed
Dashed around getting me and DCs ready,
Took puppy out of fridge
Got DC's breakfast
Rounded up puppies and returned them to jail the kitchen
School run
Coffee, at last!, sitting in the car letting the traffic die down
Back home to clean up
Fed puppies and big dogs
Rounded up puppies
Moped
Removed puppy from the mop, which was almost as shame as she pounced on it so well, it was definitely dead
WM on
Tried to empty DW, puppies pounced
Coffee
Emptied WM
Retrieved wet washing from puppies
Removed puppies from my ankles, I'd kept my boots onWink
Hung washing
Breakfast
2nd load in WM
S&s bathrooms
Emptied dishwasher
Looked for a CD
Took puppies out of CD cupboard
Managed to escape with contents of WM and some hand washing
3rd load in WM
Bubble bath
Lunch with OH
Washing hung, dry stuff back in, left it in the dinning room away from enquiring teeth
Fed puppies
School run
Therapy with DDs
Dinner out
Home, DDs to bed
Cuddled big dogs
Cleaned kitchen with OH's help
Took rubbish out
OH removed puppies from WM
Fed big dogs
OH vacuumed kitchen, I removed the puppies from the vacuum cleaner hose and cable
Cleaned the wok while OH walked puppies around the kitchen
Sat down with a vino, left packed lunches until morning because I'm daft too tired.

AdoraBell · 07/06/2012 04:22

Forgot to mention, I did get dressed before taking DDs to school

raindropsinmyhair · 07/06/2012 09:15

Ta dahs so far

Up, breakfasted, showered and dressed
Bathroom steamed and swiped
Stuff dropped off at charity shop
Quick Aldi shop
Shopping put away
Car cleared of rubbish
Bins and recycling bag emptied
Bed made
Windows open and smelly candle lit to try and get rid of slight vinegary smell ( I put a dash of vinegar in the steamer to help with grease removal and stop limescale developing in steamer Shock )
