Come inside for a Brew and a Biscuit and maybe even a Wine if the mood takes you.

A thread for chatter and nonsense Grin

zoo, I was thinking of Christmas 2012 at Thanksgiving 2011. We spread these things out to ease the financial burden (and to make sure we have everything to take back to the States when we go for Thanksgiving). MrScout's birthday is also around Thanksgiving, and the last few times we've gone back we've landed back in the UK on his birthday, so I need to be prepared before we leave.

I'd store the presents in the presents closet in our room at the in-laws (MrScout never goes in there). If I didn't want to do that my MiL would keep them in her room.

I'm only thinking of getting them now while I have some money that's "mine" and not "ours", if that makes sense (I don't like getting him presents with his/our money -- just feels wrong somehow).

TODDLER'S IN BED!!!

10-15 minutes of going to his door and back.
3-5 minutes (tops) of him whimpering when I said "Good night, Toddler" from the doorway

And all is quiet for the last 10 minutes!!!

liveinazoo · 04/05/2012 19:40

yay for TS staying in bed!!!!Grin

Scout19075 · 04/05/2012 19:44

I was downstairs by just past 7:30 (and that's only because I waited around to ensure staying-in-bed-ness).

Cheers, zoo!

educatingarti · 04/05/2012 19:58

Evening all. I am here now ( though feeling a bit sorry for myself)!

My hip was already hurting and now I seem to have managed to hurt my back as well whilst gardening ( even though I kept telling myself not to do anything too strenuous and ignoring my own advice when something just needed doing!

Love the photos Cats.
How are you feeling now?

So glad that TS seems to be getting the sleeping thing Scout!
Could you do the classic "primary school washing line" to display his colour pictures www.tts-group.co.uk/shops/tts/Products/PD1722882/Grammar-Washing-Line/ either in the kitchen or his room. Oohh if you have room somewhere you could peg up the picture and then some other things the same colour next to it eg green sock next to green frog picture!

I'd love to know all your dc's names!

Having to do things in 15 minute bursts to keep myself going this evening!

Scout19075 · 04/05/2012 20:02

Funny you mention the display line, arti, I was already thinking about that earlier today and figured out where I could put it in the kitchen.

Will Chocolate help, arti?

Are you still around?

carrotsandcelery · 04/05/2012 20:07

Poor you Arti. I thought you were very quiet today. Would a hot shower help? Or lying in a comfy position on the sofa and slobbing? that is my plan for the evening.

Cats the pictures are lovely. What sort of flowers are they? Where are they? The view looks very like the view we saw on holiday last year when we went up to the far end of Lake Windermere for dh and dd to go ocean kayaking. Absolutely stunning!

As they say Scout fools never differ Great minds think alike!

As chocolate is well known for its calorieless pain relieving properties then yes please!

Off to do at least 15 mins work!

liveinazoo · 04/05/2012 20:12

anyone got bank holiday plans for monday?

carrotsandcelery · 04/05/2012 20:12

We have had quite an evening. Dd had a bit of a dodgy riding lesson. I don't know what came over her. Hopefully it is preshow nerves and like a bad rehearsal. FX.

We have been to collect the bedside tables my friend was giving me and seemed to find our way into the takeaway on the way home Blush I haven't had a Chinese for years but this one is lovely. It isn't all slimy and the broccolli is still bright green etc. I honk of garlic now though Grin

We got home to discover that dh is in a very bad mood having made a mistake at work. He got a figure 45 million out I think. With the sums he deals with that is like getting the cash in our purse 45p out but someone senior happened to spot it. I hope it is not going to colour the mood for the whole weekend. FX there too!

Arti, I will send you the name game quiz for my dcs and see if you can figure it out. Scout got there eventually but had cultural excuses. Zoo got the surname straight away and knew ds's first name but couldn't get it to her finger tips. No one has guessed dd's name yet but Scout got pretty close. Anyone else want to play? It is quite intriguing!!

carrotsandcelery · 04/05/2012 20:15

bessie this is what I made rhubarb and custard cake but I put it in two loaf tins instead as the reviews said it didn't cook through very well and my oven is bad for that with cake as it is. It is delicious! I would add much more rhubarb in future though. (and maybe some ginger!)

educatingarti · 04/05/2012 20:15

Zoo - I am planning to tackle may spare room. The fact that my Mum is coming to stay in early June is totally coincidental!
