YaY! Scout! Time for a party I say!

More like lunch!

Toddler had pasta salad at soft play (about 1/2 hour before we left) and on the way out he was asking for "Cheese samich" when I asked why, was he hungry he said "Daddy cheese samich." That's what MrScout took for lunch today so Toddler wants one. I promised him one when he got up but that he had to go for a rest like a big boy (and like his friend O, even though I know O is old enough not to need a mid-day nap).

I'm going to get Toddler up in an hour so it doesn't affect bedtime but he definitely needed a nap.

It sounds like the message is getting through Scout. You have done so well this week. There is nothing as crushing and the bone aching exhaustion of a child who won't settle. Huge pat on the back and massive respect from me as it took us 7 years to crack it.

There will be lots of praise and fuss when he gets up. Fingers crossed bedtime is easy, too.

I am feeling tired and CBA. How do I get going?

Can you decide rewards for yourself Cats eg 15 mins washing up = 30 mins tv and or something like that?

we dont have a PTA at the moment.school are trying sort one.i have volunteered to help with fundraising/cake making.i can help wherer they want it most though as babysittings an issue and i dont want be dragging little zoo around when should be in bed

I will lurk on here till the clock strikes 1 then I will go --drag myself-- to the kitchen and set the timer.

We have started having film nights for the dcs in the school hall as the school has a screen in there now. It made us easy money. We set up a tuck shop at the back with popcorn and sweets and the dcs came with a parent and watched the film and ate crazy amounts of sweets and drank juice etc.

A lot of what we do involves baking eg cup of tea and cake during sports day - that sort of thing. Parents would rather part with a couple of pounds here and there than £20 in one go.

It does get expensive for the bakers though.

bessie that is fab. They have boards like that at the psychologists and I thought that was cool enough. Ds would love that. I am seriously tempted to do a wall like that for him. He has sloping ceilings so it could be very interesting indeed!

I have made the rhubarb cake/loaves and they are in the oven. I have to cover them with foil at 2.30 so please shout at me then.

I still have to pack ds's bag. I am distracted by the radio as 2 people I know have been on over lunchtime. One is a politician and one is a presenter so I shouldn't be so shocked but it is a bit weird.

Wow. DD2 lasted until 130 without a nap. I am very impressed!

I told DD1 that I was going for a nap too, so she told me I have to tell her when she can come & wake me up! She has been a bit grouchy this morning so I'm not sure whether to let her sleep for 45m or 1.5hrs....

Are any of you on pinterest? There are some great storage ideas & yummy looking recipes on there.

bessie, I keep thinking about pininterest but don't you need to request an invite or something? I haven't known anyone else on it, just see links on MN to various things.

I am on it but have no idea how it works so have got completely stuck.

I think I've worked out what to get MrScout for his birthday (November) and Christmas (December, obviously). My MiL owes me money for some American things I ordered (using my US card which has already been paid using money I keep in the US to pay off that card or to have cash when we go home) so I can use that money to get the things now (before I go and buy another recipe book or five) and put away. MrScout is such a pain to shop for that when I have a stroke of genius I tend to run with it. Would I be crazy, though?

What are you going to get him and where are you going to hide it? It would be very clever and sensible to do it now as long as you can hide it and remember where you hid it.

carrots you basically create online pinboards of things you like the look of (mine are "eat", "kids" & "living room ideas"). If you type "toy storage" (or "tofu" or "etsy", etc) into the search box lots of photos will appear. Find one you like & hover over the pic & some buttons will appear. Click "repin" and add it to your own board.
If you start nosing around at people you might find they have lots of things you like on their boards. In which case you can "follow" them & you will see things that they put on their boards. (The storage porn thread had the name of a lady who had loads of cool boards, I will try to find out what it was)
