Come inside for a Brew and a Biscuit and maybe even a Wine if the mood takes you.

A thread for chatter and nonsense Grin

I am glad you have felt better. Maybe it is the screen then. Sad

I'll have to get DH to have a look and see if he can fiddle with it. He is better at computers than I am.

Cats mine has an "FN" button which has orange print on it and along the top of the keyboard the keys also have symbols in orange which work when the fn button is in as well.

Sometimes they have specific keys near the screen or at the bottom right iirc.

Now I am wondering what all your dcs are called Grin

I have realised that mine are very ethnic, if that is the right word?

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 03/05/2012 21:46

Caramel anyone?

Scout19075 · 03/05/2012 21:54

Thanks, carrots.

Pizza, anyone?

Scout19075 · 03/05/2012 22:10

Good night!

carrotsandcelery · 03/05/2012 22:14

zoo we don't have ofsted. What does that mean? I am assuming it means the school is struggling.

Our best man teaches in a school near you which was struggling (he is a Maths teacher) and I think a lot of extra attention was focussed on the school he works in.

It probably sounds bad of me but it could mean your dcs get lots of extras (like the treehouse).

I have been busy exercising & wallowing in the bath Grin

Just came back online to post my list, but I am in bed!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 04/05/2012 05:58

Morning all, I think I may be getting a cold.

Carrots ofstead go to schools to inspect how they are getting on and then say whether a school is good or not. I'm sure someone else can explain it better than I have.

I am o.k. so far this morning but a little tired as had a bit of a restless night.

Hope everyone else is alright this morning.

Scout19075 · 04/05/2012 06:12

We had a nocturnal visitor last night. Sometime after midnight. Scared the life out of me as I didn't know he was there until he snuggled into me so I must have been deeply asleep. It was naughty of me but I let him stay a bit while I came to and tried to figure out who I was and where I was and what the next course of action was to be. I tried to find the nappies in the dark and nearly cried at the exhaustion of it (I had only been asleep about 90 minutes) but couldn't find them, gave up, and "baby carried" Toddler back to bed. I went to the loo, thought I heard him and did cry a bit at the prospect of fighting him to go to sleep but he stayed in bed until he visited us around 5:15-5:30. He's up playing on my bed, having a drink (seems to have a cough) and some dry Cheerios. I've left MrScout in charge so I could come downstairs to MN in peace get a drink for myself.

I'm still so very tired -- the nocturnal visit really messed me up. It took me a bit to go back to sleep (listening out for sounds of Toddler getting up) and then I don't think I fell into a deep sleep again.

We're going to "city" this morning so TS won't have a nap until 12:30/1:00ish (I think, when I can, a late morning nap is ideal) but I won't let him sleep more than an hour with hopes of an easier bedtime at bedtime (7:00-ish).

I am here zoo and delighted to play the name game with you. My dcs names are reasonably distinctive too so would probably also out me.

Anyone else want to play. It was by no means an exclusive game. I don't mind any of you knowing, I just can't display it here.

I have been down to the nearest village to collect dd's bike and then went to see my parents while I was there. Mum has a new dress and is looking for jewellery for it so I have been commissioned to come up with something so I then went to the craft shop to look for the right colours. After that I had to buy some guinea pig and rabbit food so I am just back.

I don't want to do any housework. I want to make something. I need to pack for ds's first sleepover at a good friend's, find some appropriate clothing for dd as she is in a show on Sunday (ponies) and be around to take delivery of some furniture a friend is giving me as she is emptying her house Grin

What do I give my friend as a thank you for the sleepover? She wouldn't appreciate chocolate. I am considering trying to bake her dh a cake as he will bear the brunt of the evening I suspect. What do you think? Give him chocs? Bake a cake? I don't know?

BTW the Billy Connolly was funny to me as ds's name is a common surname around here Blush

Hi all, just popping in for lunch time.

bessie26 · 04/05/2012 12:23

Hi, we had friends round to play this morning so had to make an emergency dash to the shop for biscuits at 9am!

DDs are just finishing their lunch, then I think DD2 will need to go straight to bed. Will have to try to get DD1 down shortly after so they are both in bed at the same time & I get a few mins to drink hot tea wash up.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 04/05/2012 12:30

We have been out doing the food shopping for most of the morning.

Scout19075 · 04/05/2012 12:32

OMGoodness!!!

Toddler's gone down for "a rest" (aka a nap) without getting up AT ALL!

carrotsandcelery · 04/05/2012 12:33

I have decided to have a go at rhubarb and custard cake but I am going to cook it in two loaf tins as the comments say it doesn't cook through very well.

I have just cut the peppermint slab and tiffin for the fundraiser tomorrow. I am now making myself feel sick eating the trimmings from the tiffin. It is lovely but very rich and I am eating too much of it.

I hope you enjoyed it bessie. Have they left your house in a reasonable state?

zoo is there an active pta at your dcs school? A lot of the luxuries at my dcs school come from fundraising by the pta. They do get money for books but if they want to revamp a reading system then it is the PTA they look to for that sort of thing. We are currently fundraising for a rolling programme of computer upgrade as lots of the computers are not compatible with their programmes and many have missing keys etc.
