CatsSleepAnywhere · 16/03/2012 13:28

Welcome to part 2 of babysteps through March.

We are aiming for a more tidy, organised and less cluttered home one babystep at a time.

For those who feel like doing them, there are also missions

Please sign up here.

All newcomers welcome. Smile

I've still got lots to do. Shock
I just need to remember to look at it as one job at a time rather than the whole list so I don't get overwhelmed.

checking in Hi all,
have done the square root of nothing today, we are also having leftovers for dinner so not doing anything there either,
however will be back on it again tomorrow.
was away for the weekend and feeling fragile today (too much alcohol and socialising making me feel the need to hide in a dark cave for 24 hours)
BBtomorrow

Smile

I have decided "what's for dinner?" and made and eaten it.

I still need to:
wash up dinner stuff
go shopping ? (Will have to check what we need and how urgently we need it.)
feed cat
do litter tray
put away some dry washing and hang some that was "line dried" on airers
read through some counselling paperwork
do a bit of school paperwork
get DC ready for bed and to bed
deal with a tired toddler
and this is all without doing the babysteps!
Some days it all just seems a bit much.

I will have to delegate some jobs to DH.

Not sure if I will get time to MN tonight now so if not "See you tomorrow"

I'm off for a run, then shower, dinner, pack DDs bags for tomorrow, shopping list, reward chart - will be back if i have time after I've done all that!

carrotsandcelery · 19/03/2012 20:10

I agree zoo. Time to put your feet up.

Thanks bessie for the link. I have favourited it this time. Guess what I am hoping to make tomorrow?

Hi Never. I am Envy of your raucous weekend. I am in need of a good letting down of my now very short hair!

Scout glad you got home safe. Did you enjoy your lunch?

Cats Delegate and one step at a time. It is a cliche for a reason. Start asking for help and giving out little jobs. Take it one 15 min burst at a time too. Gradually it makes a big difference and the more you do the easier it becomes to do the next thing.

I have had enough for today. I have a Brew and a yogurt [living the high life] and I don't plan on moving much until bed time.

These school projects nearly tipped me over the edge. It took dd nearly 3 hours to write a tiny bit and that writing was done in the last 45 mins. Meanwhile she was winding me up like a tightly wound up thing. Grrrr!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 19/03/2012 20:13

From earlier list have done:
shopping list
been shopping
hoovered up living room/dining room
cat fed
litter tray done

DH is doing bedtime for DC (I will help if needed)
I'm going to do school paperwork next then that's enough for today!

I will do what I can do though.

Ta Das:
washed and dressed
made sure dd was ready for school (she walks with a friend)

Eeeek! bessie Shock I think you are headed for the maltesers gold medal today!

Ta Da
tested muffins
checked ds's maths

I need to do a declutter somewhere but that is a tricky one while I am keeping ds company.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 20/03/2012 14:20

Just spent 1 hour sorting through a drawer of paperwork and still haven't found my important document.Sad I so wish I was more organised!!

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 20/03/2012 14:57

Golden opportunity Cats. Is it a drawer in a file or just a normal drawer? If a normal drawer then a packet of paper files might be enough.

bessie26 · 20/03/2012 16:11

How do you all organise your paperwork? I have a box file which I used to be very good at using, but have got out of the habit since going paperless for most banks & bills. I have hanging thingies (folders? envelopes?) in it for car, cats, dr, money & then several 'other's where I just stuff reciepts etc until it's full & then start a new one. At regular intervals (i.e. once every blue moon) I go through them & chuck out everything I don't need (most of it)

liveinazoo · 20/03/2012 17:01

i went to town this morning while little zoo was at nurseryto buy new shoes

picked up lil zoo

walked another 1hr at little zoo trot each way to pop money for avon through ladies door as i was short when she called

came back and ate lunch stuffed face

sat on my bum and read paper whilst declettering a 6pk iced buns[blush

picked up zoolets

having pointy sticked myself have started dinner
made muffins
wiped dpown kitchen surfaces and all washing up soaking in washing up bowl
made beds
s+s bathroom

carrotsandcelery · 20/03/2012 17:06

We have a 3 drawer metal filing cabinet which dh salvaged from an old office when it was refurbished. We have hanging files in it for loads and loads of stuff, including instructions for electronic toys and all sorts.

I tend to save up a huge pile of things to file and then have a filing session, chucking out envelopes etc.
