I am looking forward to "wine" Wine o'clock.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 16/03/2012 20:39

It's very quiet here tonight, I have opened the Wine but will be off to watch Benidorm at 9.00.

Cheers! Wine

Hello! Anyone still around?

I am waiting for my tea to cool down. I am famished and have to eat alone Sad

Everyone has been fed in stages today and it has been really busy.

Dh is home but working - that is the price I pay for our alone together time this morning I suppose.

We had a great day though so it is worth it Grin

CatsSleepAnywhere · 16/03/2012 20:52

What are you going to eat carrots?

carrotsandcelery · 16/03/2012 20:58

Just penne with a tomato sauce. It had to be something that everyone could cook quickly when their opportunity came around. Ds ate with my dparents.

I think my hunger made me make a bit too much and I am bored with it now.

anyone? Grin

carrotsandcelery · 16/03/2012 20:58

Do you think zoo has survived games night?

bessie26 · 16/03/2012 22:14

Hello! On sunday we have the GP coming round for tea & cake in the afternoon (it's easier for us if they all come to us, than us visiting them).

At the activity we went to this morning, the lady who runs it was trying to persuede DD1 to go off with her to "make something", but DD1 (understandably I think) refused, so DD2 & I had to go sit next to her, but not look at what they were doing! I have a mysterious envelope to open on sunday! Grin

Scout19075 · 17/03/2012 07:55

Good morning!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 17/03/2012 08:02

Morning Scout! (and anyone who's lurking).

carrotsandcelery · 17/03/2012 09:28

Morning! Is this the chat thread?

What is everyone up to today?

Dd has an occasional activity this morning. I am hoping to take her to the library on the way home and to look at something she would like for her birthday gift.

She has a party in the afternoon and I am hoping some mums will stay (it is at the sports centre) and chat Grin

Dh has the cold Sad so I am hoping he can take it easy today and fight it off fast but he will have to take ds to his activity and we still haven't figured out when the dogs are getting walked.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 17/03/2012 09:42

I have a hangover (my fault! I know), Anyone got any good cures?

When I feel a bit better I am hoping we can go out somewhere.

DS also has to do his homework project some time today and I have a backlog of dry washing that needs to be put away.

Scout19075 · 17/03/2012 10:59

We're at the inlaws this weekend. Toddler and I are going to bake a cake this afternoon for tomorrow's tea with the extended family.

bessie26 · 17/03/2012 13:04

what are you making scout? DD1 wants to make a cherry & raisin cake We will have to do it this afternoon as we won't have time tomorrow, but I'm a bit worried we don't have enough butter....

carrotsandcelery · 17/03/2012 13:22

Cats it is probably too late but "up here" the usual cure is a can of Irn Bru and some salt and vinegar crisps as they replace the salt and sugar lost.

Others would say some vit c.

Other say a fry up (never tried this one for obvious reasons)

Load of Brew and water usually helps too.

I hope you are feeling better and off out somewhere now.

carrotsandcelery · 17/03/2012 13:24

bessie that cake sounds lovely. It doesn't look too tricky either. Let us know how it turns out please.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 17/03/2012 13:32

I made cheese and sweetcorn scones this morning and just tucking into one now for lunch - yum

CatsSleepAnywhere · 17/03/2012 14:14

I am feeling a lot better now, had lots of drinks (non alcoholic) this morning and we went for a walk into town. I think I remember now why I don't get drunk very often Blush although I didn't have a lot. I might of miscalculated on the measure of Bacardi and put too much in the glass.

We bought a new toilet training seat for DD so it might help out with the toilet training.

bessie26 · 17/03/2012 14:33

chaotic cheese and sweetcorn scones sound yummy! - could we have the recipe please? They reminded me of these cheesy corn cakes which I haven't made for ages

carrotsandcelery · 17/03/2012 15:27

I second the request for the recipe chaotic - pleeeaaassseee!

bessie that is a tricky stage - brace yourself.

carrotsandcelery · 17/03/2012 15:40

bessie do you cook your cakes in a muffin tray? Your recipe sounds lovely and might appeal to ds more as he loves sweetcorn.

bessie26 · 17/03/2012 16:06

carrots the cheesy corn cakes are fried, they are like fat cheesy pancakes

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 17/03/2012 18:45

Sorry ladies been out all afternoon. Yes of course, will post it after tea :)

Scout19075 · 17/03/2012 19:32

bessie, we're just going to make a Victoria Sponge. Not very exciting but easy enough to keep Toddler entertained. We didn't make it today in the end so will make it together in the morning after breakfast. Did have a nice relaxing-ish day, though.

carrotsandcelery · 17/03/2012 20:23

Sorry bessie I should have read further. I still think ds might like them.

Something is going on in the Carrot household. Ds is very excited about the morning which has made me excited and nervous Shock

What "creation" might be visited upon me in my bed at 5am tomorrow?

Eeeek!

Scout19075 · 17/03/2012 20:36

Ooooohhhh, carrots, that sounds intriguing. Will be interested in hearing about it tomorrow.
