Hi, I'm back. Had a temporary computer problem (it froze) so I turned it off at wall and turned back on again and it done the trick! Grin

liveinazoo · 12/04/2012 14:48

thats what i did

liveinazoo · 12/04/2012 14:51

catsthe home visit person was on hols and another volunteer did it.
they said would have to contain them in the kitchen only for a week to ingrain in them where the litter tray is...isnt that a bit long?ive previously only ever done overnight and theyve got iti understand not letting them out for a month or so but it seems cruel to me containing them in one room.

as youve had cats all your life what do you think?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 12/04/2012 14:51

Grin I'm going to make a Brew

CatsSleepAnywhere · 12/04/2012 14:55

x posts. That does sound about right. Maybe you could do it for a few days though. Definitely don't let them outside for a while. My cat doesn't go outside at all but she is old.
They also might hide, mine hid behind washing machine when we moved here.

liveinazoo · 12/04/2012 15:02

i remember hiding, thats another reason i need do some work on the kitchen.i dont want any "little messages" left in odd spots i dont find for a few days,by which time they have established as toilet spot[hmm

i will be quite happy if they dont want to go out when the month is up tbh.
my last cat was hit by a catin garages at the back of my old houseSad
he survived but was very poorly and was in ill health for quite a long a time afterwards.he always came in at night aftr that and i was a bag nerves when he strayed further than the back garden

Scout19075 · 12/04/2012 15:02

CatsSleepAnywhere · 12/04/2012 15:05

When you get them on Sunday please come on here and tell me all about them.
I suspect I will be Sad on Sunday so will need cheering up.
My dad died on the 15th April although it was a long time ago.

liveinazoo · 12/04/2012 15:05

i had a less than polite go a the ice cream man that seemed to think parking and tinkling his bell outside my house at 7.15 was ok scout
i yelled at him when he shrugged that if he didnt move along i would go and get all 3 tired and screaming little monsters and he could take them on his round and see how he felt afterwards!
he still comes to my street but NEVER parks outside my house!

liveinazoo · 12/04/2012 15:07

cats
i find august 14th upsetting and 9th december

it was over 20years ago but losing a parent is a tough one isnt itSad

CatsSleepAnywhere · 12/04/2012 15:11

it is. I don't think anyone can understand if they haven't been there.
My dad's birthday is the 16th April so I suppose I get it all out of the way in one go.

liveinazoo · 12/04/2012 15:12

cats* my kids obviously never got to meet my mum.on anniversaries i get out the old photo albums and tell the zoolets about her,and what it was like back thenthey love hearing about it and while i feel sad i want them to learn about someone who was very special...i did a bit about family history a while back at the school and the lady who ran the group reminded us it may be easy to trace a family tree from registry forms but that doesnt tell you the interesting things like the things they liked to do,what made them laugh etc
i want the zoolets to have my albums afer im gone and to know who the pictures are in tehm and tales tp tell their children and hopefully it will preserve all kinds little things about the family zoo

CatsSleepAnywhere · 12/04/2012 15:12

{{Hugs to you too zoo}}

CatsSleepAnywhere · 12/04/2012 15:15

That's a nice thing to do. Mine never met my dad either. I think they should know about their family.

liveinazoo · 12/04/2012 15:15

i also try and do something to celebrate her life.she loved fresh flowers so i always try and buy some then
i bought myself an easter cactus on a whim this year as i knew dp couldnt afford buy me anything.my mum had easter and xmas ones
the year she died the xmas cactus didnt flower...it did at easter though and it has continued to flower every easterShocksince!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 12/04/2012 15:16

Anyway, sorry to bring a downer to the thread.

Have you got a name for the cats yet? I haven't checked the naming thread.

liveinazoo · 12/04/2012 15:17
