My dmum has a teddy bear that my ddad gave to her the day they got engaged. He is the old fashioned jointed sort that are stuffed with straw. He has no fur at all now and is held together by the clothes that my dmum knitted for him when we were little. He has his own suitcase and deckchair and everything. He must be nearly 50 years old.

Morning all! Happy Easter!

We had a rude awakening as ds managed to knock down a massive and heavy mirror and smash it all over the lounge, denting the coffee table as well as breaking the mirror.

Luckily he is fine.

I am [busad] It took us 10 years to save up for the furniture in the lounge. We kept wedding present money and added to it to save up.

I am despairing and feel I just want to leave. I know I won't but I am fed up.

Sorry, not very Easter bunny here today.

liveinazoo · 08/04/2012 08:56

aw carrots sending big big bosies

accidents happen but its not nice when its things that mean a lot

carrotsandcelery · 08/04/2012 08:59

Thanks zoo.

I do realise that the most important thing is that he is ok.

It is not the "stuff" so much as the blatant disregard for how I feel.

He just doesn't seem to be able to care.

liveinazoo · 08/04/2012 08:59

zoolets just hunted their eggs and had ceral topped with mini eggs for breakfast

dp isnt on the ball so trip to farm for easter fun is off

i am determined we shall still have a good day though

am going print some easter colouring pictures in a mo and we are planning to egg rollat local park in a while

shall make easter hats and flowers later

shall take a stroll for newspaper shortly and make an eastery to do list

liveinazoo · 08/04/2012 09:03

my ds struggles with my feelings too when he knows im sad/upset

hes still young, maybe in time he will be able to express it better

i think my ds feels guilty and cant handle that as he quite anxious creature and buries head in sand to any feelings that might make him feel bad.makes him look uncaring when he isnt really

wish i could make it better.x

carrotsandcelery · 08/04/2012 09:29

I am sorry for bringing a downer to the thread. I am now trying hard to pull myself together.

I think some Easter baking might be in order. [bugrin]

I bought the white chocolate to make the fudge recipe you gave us too zoo then decided it was maybe excessive with all the chocolate around. Now I am thinking I might just go for it anyway [bugrin]

CatsSleepAnywhere · 08/04/2012 09:46

carrots Sorry to hear about what your DS did. hope you are all o.k.

I am also feeling a bit Sad today just because of a difficult family situation I have. Don't want to say too much here as it could out me.

carrotsandcelery · 08/04/2012 10:52

(((bosies))) for Cats.

What a sorry state we get ourselves into sometimes.

I am taking photos of stuff from dd's room to list it on ebay.

I am [buangry] at the state of the things that were ironed and in her wardrobe.

I can't be bothered to iron them again so they will just have to go as they are.

I probably should wait but it is free listings and I just want the stuff out of the house. Someone will get a bargain as it will go cheaply and then iron up as lovely stuff [bugrin]

She has some ponyville stuff which will hopefully make her some money and keep her motivated to move the stuff out of her room when she outgrows it.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 08/04/2012 11:00

Sorry, didn't want that to sound worse than it is. (Noone has died.)
It's just a certain person in my family is being difficult. It's not someone I live with so I need to try and forget about him for today.

I will PM you Carrots.

On the flying front I am feeling very lazy today. I still haven't got dressed.
I might allow myself a bit of slack as it is a holiday weekend. I want to start trying again by Tuesday though so I can gear up for "back to school" the week after.

carrotsandcelery · 08/04/2012 11:06

I am still in my pjs too Cats. I am saving my bath as a break from my ebay listing.

Dh has taken pup for a walk and sent ds to his room to tidy it. He could be up there for years [bushock] I have asked him to look for anything he might want to sell. Last time I sent him up there he made £30 which has all been spent on Skylanders. At least they are tiny and easy to store [bugrin]

liveinazoo · 08/04/2012 12:15

hi all

my lot hav ebeen busy rolling plastoic eggs down the stairs
ha ha ha

ive been busy printing colouring pictures for a relaxing session with them after lunch[bugrin]

also found a webpage i which does crafty activities and chore sheets

i have down loaded a lamb toilet roll paper craft and was halfway through ds chore sheet when damn ink ran out on prnter so only little zoo has hers printed[buhmm]

Scout19075 · 08/04/2012 12:51

Happy Easter. [busmile]

CatsSleepAnywhere · 08/04/2012 14:46

"Rant alert" !!!

Why don't men think!??

DH has gone to the shop to buy some bread. (might not be open anyway!)
About 2 mins after DH had left (walking), DS comes to the house to put his scooter in and disappears (he doesn't say a word). (he was playing out). I tried to phone DH but he has left his phone here Angry.
I now have no idea if DS has caught up with DH and has gone with him.

I suppose I am mostly annoyed because DH didn't take his phone and I can't get hold of him so don't know that DS is safe!!!

AAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

That feels a bit better!

Carry on as you were!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 08/04/2012 15:33

Just an update, DS did go with DH, they are both back now. Grin

carrotsandcelery · 08/04/2012 16:04

I am glad all are ok Cats. I don't think men do it on purpose, I think they are just not hormonally wired to worry about where their dcs are at every moment and to factor them into every decision they make.

I have managed to cure the mood thank goodness. We went over to my ddad's with his Easter gift and my dmum's (she was at choir) and had a good laugh with him. Then we went to the supermarket and I bumped into a few friends (as did the dcs) and then we went to an organised Easter chick hunt and quiz and then for a hot chocolate and a cake. [bugrin] It seems to have cheered us all up to have spend some time having a laugh together and to have some outside company.

They are now playing outside and then we hope to make Easter chocolate crispy nests and do some Easter crafts if there is time.

Sorry for being so upset earlier. It all got a bit too much.

carrotsandcelery · 08/04/2012 16:06

Scout how has the chocolate bunny gone down?

zoo good luck with the peaceful afternoon. I love the idea of eggs down the stairs. (Ours are open and go round 2 corners so that could be very interesting in this house.)

liveinazoo · 08/04/2012 16:43

glad you feeeling better carrots
our stairs go round a corner so they launch them over the banisters

Scout19075 · 08/04/2012 16:59

Right, so measles are so infectious you have a 90% chance of catching them if you're in contact with them (and it will travel on clothes, etc.). So what happens? My PiL, two SiL and future BiL went 'round to SiL house with all of the presents (Easter & birthday). They ALL bloody went!!! Supposedly they're just going to stand outside and hand things through the door but you know the kids will want hugs and my MiL keeps saying "I just want to give dear Niece3 a hug." Bloody hell!

I actually said today "look, if you want them all 'round or you want to go in I don't have a problem going back to Scoutshire before you go." I didn't expect them ALL to go!

I'm doomed.

liveinazoo · 08/04/2012 17:03

oh scout im soo sorry this has been such an awful weekend

its been an impossible situation to be in sweetheart and i really, really hope you,TS and mr scout are in the lucky 10%

Scout19075 · 08/04/2012 17:05

Well, MrScout's had measles so has the immunity and Toddler had his jab when he's meant to. It's me that has to watch.

liveinazoo · 08/04/2012 17:08

hate to be a doom mongerer but i was told it is possible to get measles if had exposure and had been imunised but it will be very mildSad

of all the people who really need a healthy break right now its you honey

try and relax, eat well and take good care of yourself to boost what immunity you have.

when are you heading back to scoutshire?x

Scout19075 · 08/04/2012 17:11

They're all saying they can't believe how cavalier SiL/BiL are being about bring infectious children home to their other (non-immunized) children so they can catch it and to heavily pregnant SiL and poorly (terminal diagnosis with lung issues) BiL and yet they've all just gone over and come home knowing it spreads through everything to not completed protected w/lower immune system me and Toddler (even though, as I've said, he's had his jabs). All of the family (bar one niece with a headache) were at the door.

I seriously want to cry.

My parents would never do something like that.
