Zoo I'm going to have to go to the kitchen now and make a start. DH has decide to make a cake Shock and DD is watching --getting in the way-- . I will try to come back at 2.00pm.

liveinazoo · 06/04/2012 13:19

ay carumba[bugrin]

im orf tackle hall and see what else i can do by 2.x

carrotsandcelery · 06/04/2012 13:30

I have just spent a few hours in Dd's bedroom trying to deep clean it. Every drawer I open makes me sadder and sadder. [busad] She has mess jammed everywhere. We have decluttered so much that 2 plastic drawer units have been removed from her room, empty! She had so much jammed in one drawer that I sliced my finger open trying to get the stuff out and blubbed like a baby on her bedroom floor.

It must have been awful for her to live with all that mess around her. I am disgusted by her and [busad] for her at the same time.

We are cutting it right back now. She has another bag full of stuff to sell and we have filled two black bags full of rubbish from it as well. Where does it all come from?

zoo on the cat front you will have to go with a very cold heart. When I got Pup I went to get another dog and he wasn't suitable and the guy walked me round. Pup was the only dog not barking his head off but had his feet right up on the wire so he was face to face with me iykwim. He was sooooo thin and looked so sad but also reminded me of Ds. I went back a few days later after discussing him with family but promised dh that I wouldn't come home with him. I was just going to find out more and see him out of the pen and away from the other dogs.

That is the only promise to dh I have ever broken [bugrin]

Neither of us have regretted it for a second though.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 06/04/2012 14:14

Carrots sounds like my DS room. I am have been burying my head in the sand about it so far. He doesn't want to get rid of anything though so that makes it harder. Maybe I will try to tackle things upstairs when the DC are back to school.

DD can't wait till Sunday when she can open the Easter eggs. I'm glad we didn't buy them a lot cause they have been given quite a few.

liveinazoo · 06/04/2012 14:22

its awful isnt it?dd2 birthdays next friday and dp has been shouted at repeaedly NOT to buy loads...shes getting the playmobile holiday home, camper van and waterslide...he wanted to get more but iwent beserk at those
im sure crap breeds.it does in the zoo house.ever time i think im making headway it seems to double, esp the kids thingsSad
for us i think the root cause is dp buys too much and i find it hard to cull things.im told by "tidy people" for everything that comes in something has to go but i no i would find it near impossible to be so ruthless.
deep down i know keeping things in case or because they trigger such strong memories isnt a reason to hoard them but its still very hard to let things go
you are doing brilliantly carrots wading on and in the end she will have a lovely room where everything has a home and is easy to find/use/play with so it will be worth it in the end.x

liveinazoo · 06/04/2012 14:28

before i trundle off and crack on i feel i need to get a rant off my chest...
dcs seem to have completely forgotten all flying and basic tidy skills
im still very tired with meds being fiddled with and it seems exhausting constantly trying keep on top having them here creating chaos

i must try and restore some sense of order or i will undoubtably crack over the weekend and then dp will in a mood i wrecked the atmosphere/his easter breakSad

sorry for that i was all but eye twitching with supressed rage!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 06/04/2012 14:37

I need to get off my butt and hoover/tidy up. I think my brain is in holiday mode this week so I am struggling to stay motivated.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 06/04/2012 15:25

Dining room hoovered. DH is making --a lovely mess-- the buttercream for the cake. I am quite impressed! Hope it tastes nice. Grin

liveinazoo · 06/04/2012 15:27

CatsSleepAnywhere · 06/04/2012 15:34

Hi zoo, yes o.k.

How is it going? Are the DC being good?

liveinazoo · 06/04/2012 15:54

made dent in mess!
kids being a bit better[busmile]
how are yours?
what sort cake had dh made?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 06/04/2012 16:00

DS is playing out so haven't seen much of him (but still check on his whereabouts) and DD is colouring in, in between watching a dvd so at the mo all is peaceful [bugrin].
DH made a chocolate cake with mini eggs on top. We are going to have some after dinner.

I'm off to do something till 4.30 then it will be dinner time.

liveinazoo · 06/04/2012 16:03

sounds yummy[busmile]

im washing and conditioning dd2 hair...shes been scratching

carrotsandcelery · 06/04/2012 16:19

Hello again!

Rants are good for the soul zoo I am sure of it.

Did the signatures tactic work with your dcs or fall on deaf ears?

I have to keep ringing the changes to keep mine motivated but bribery incentives seem to be the most effective.

We have got another bag and half out of dd's room. I am so disgusted. She still has hair bobbles a 3 yo would wear and plastic bead jewellery from parties when she was 4 and stuff like that which she will never wear. It has been sorted now though into sellable and binable.

We are left with a pile of little bits and bobs of toys that I have no idea what to do with really.

She can use her desk/dressing table now though. She can reach her ipod dock without moving loads of stuff. She knows where her jewellery is and where her hair bobbles are and where her little bits and bobs of toiletries are. She has a hook for her new birthday hairdryer. Her certificates and posters are on the wall. etc. etc. etc.

I think she should try to work in a 15min declutter/tidy every day but I know that once her after school schedule begins again she just doesn't have time.

We also still have to go through all her clothes, hats, gloves etc and minimise them.

Our problem zoo is a combination of being bought too much stuff by everyone and not decluttering and moving things on often enough.

I do her clothes regularly but clearly all the other bits and bobs need seen to as well.

Anyway, sorry, I have gone on a bit again. Major progress has been made. [bugrin]

carrotsandcelery · 06/04/2012 16:21

Cats I was confused by which day the dcs got their loot. My dmum used to make us wait until the Monday. I let mine have theirs today, partly because I wanted them to be able to enjoy the gifts while they were off and partly to give them time to work their way through the mountain of choc well before it becoming part of the school routine.

zoo good luck with the hair

liveinazoo · 06/04/2012 19:00

kids are watching cbbc-its celebrating being 40

carrotswhat are you eating for your easter main meal?

we have always gone with lamb before and ive no idea what to serve for a veggie occasion

zoolets have been enjoying some lovely lambs frolicking in fields not that far from us and they are horrified by the idea them being eaten

carrotsandcelery · 06/04/2012 19:01

Oh zoo! What a nightmare! Poor you and poor little zoo. There is not much you can do though. You just have to treat it and comb it and so on until it's gone. [busad]

carrotsandcelery · 06/04/2012 19:02

Thanks for the egg and medal.

Where is everyone today?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 06/04/2012 19:08

Hi carrots and zoo, I am here lurking for a little while.
Camper and Scout were away for the weekend I think.

liveinazoo · 06/04/2012 19:17

wheres bessie?shes been quiet lately

carrotsandcelery · 06/04/2012 19:17

It's very quiet.

I don't think all the rubbish from dd's room will fit in the bin. I might have to laod the car and go to the tip tomorrow. At least it is not smelly or dirty rubbish.

The dcs are way too lively for me at this time of night. Luckily dh is on his way home and it is nearly bedtime.
