There must have been something in the air as my DDs were awake at 6 (although just lay chatting & singing in their beds)

CatsSleepAnywhere · 24/03/2012 15:59

Hope all is well with everyone.

We are a poorly bunch of kittens here. Sad
I have a bad back and knee,
DH has fallen asleep due to us being woken on and off all night,
DD has had a fever so is also asleep,
DS was sick earlier so must have picked up a tummy bug, either that or he got a bit hot running around in the sun.

I'm off to try and sort the kitchen in a mo. Then will have to see what we could have for tea.

bessie26 · 24/03/2012 20:42

coo, it's quiet on here tonight! (where's zoo? Wink)

I'm tweeking DD2s naps atm, and it's not going well. The last couple of days she's finally gone down for her afternoon nap as I've had to wake DD1 up, so haven't had any free time to do much.

I'm swanning off for another spa day tomorrow Grin - DH got me a voucher for Valentines day, so will get naff all done tomorrow too - arse!!

Hope everyone has had good days. cats I hope you & your kittens are all tucked up in bed!

Scout19075 · 24/03/2012 21:19

Had a great day. Absolutely exhausted. Heading to bed soon.

carrotsandcelery · 24/03/2012 22:58

Well done Scout. They are still going strong here. I am shattered but worried about one of the guests and how well they are so sitting up a little longer. I have spoken to their mum and she thinks she is fine but you do feel very responsible.

Has everyone remembered that the clocks go forward tonight?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 25/03/2012 07:51

Morning all,

I am not sure what the time is so when I post this message hopefully I will find out --as long as MN haven't forgotten to change the clocks-- Grin

Carrots hope all your guests are o.k.

bessie have a lovely spa day.

I'm hoping everyone is o.k. in the Cats house although I think DD still has a low fever. She is asleep again so will check her when she wakes and dose her with Calpol if needed. I am getting around a bit better but still get the odd pain so will have to keep on with the tablets when needed.
I need to do some clothes washing/drying today so DS has all his school uniform --if all is well--.

Scout19075 · 25/03/2012 08:32

Toddler woke up asking for "Trains again." Um, not today Toddler!

carrotsandcelery · 25/03/2012 09:15

Morning all!

I have been awake all night. Bleurgh!

I had to take the wee girl who wasn't doing too well home as I was worried about her (asthma) and don't know enough to know when it is serious.

I am still worried about her and desperate to phone her house but realise it is really early for a Sunday when the time has changed.

Poor kid! Sad

Everyone else is up and fed and cuddling guinea pigs Grin

Scout19075 · 25/03/2012 10:48

It seems as if MrScout has given up his "geek thing" to spend the day with Toddler & I instead. Off to the beach for a picnic lunch and to try Toddler's new kite (mini kite from Santa)!

carrotsandcelery · 25/03/2012 12:16

That sounds lovely Scout. I am amazed you have the energy after yesterday.

I feel like I have been hit by a bus Shock

More or less normal service service has resumed in the Carrot household though.

Everything has been tidied up and dh is now doing some sweeping and cleaning.

We had a lovely breakfast with the girls and then another with the Mums when they came to collect them.

The wee one who was poorly had a tricky night but is happy and lively today so I am a bit more relieved there. Poor kid!

It is boiling here so I am hoping we can just chill out and recover today.

Scout19075 · 25/03/2012 21:47

Don't worry, carrots, I'm paying for it now. Grin

carrotsandcelery · 25/03/2012 22:16

I don't want you to pay for it Scout. Sad

I hope you get a restful night.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 26/03/2012 08:00

Morning all,

We are a poorly household so no school or nursery. DD had a fever on and off all day yesterday and a restless night. DS was quiet all day but we thought he was o.k. but at bedtime was sick. I feel like I have a slight fever, a cold and still got a bad back.

So today's plan is: care for 2 poorly DC, look after myself but also keep on top of the washing.

There is washing on the line from yesterday (hopefully dry). Washing in the machine that I have set going this morning and a basket of damp washing that I need to hang out.

I need to attempt breakfast and get dressed.

Both DC are asleep right now.

Hope everyone else is o.k. I might pop back later but will have to see how things go.

CamperWidow · 26/03/2012 08:07

Gah! I feel like bloody giving up! Angry
We have had a lovely weekend at my M&P, apart from DH coming down with an horrendous head cold complete with ear ache. :( We got back yesterday and everything just got dumped in the living room. Then DH went for a bath and DD1 joined him. Then he decided to make her tea. So that's the living room, bathroom and kitchen that are bombsites as well as the perrenial 'dining room'. I know it won't take long to do each room, but it's just that I have to do them at all annoys me! Take the bathroom; the towels are all over the floor, their clothes have just been dumped instead of going in the wash basket, the bath will need rinsing, the sink needs cleaning cus he's had a shave and not rinsed it. All small, petty things, but they build up into a big fat irritating mess!!! I know there are bigger problems but it's going to take me all day to get it sorted and it'll take me away from the girls.
But hey, we DID have a lovely weekend. :)

carrotsandcelery · 26/03/2012 09:41

Hang on to that lovely weekend in your head Camper and put on some cheerful music. Then set your timer and get started on the bathroom. 15 mins and see how you have got on. Play with the girls for 45 mins then set the timer and 15 min the kitchen and so on. You will be amazed by how much you get through. Report back and we will give you a gentle and sympathetic boot to keep you ticking along. I would also recommend some vit c and echinaccea (sp?) if you are tired so the headcold doesn't catch you up!

Cats I think just washing and washing up is all that is needed today. Poor all of you. Is it warm where you are? Have you got a nice garden? Can the dcs get out for some sunlight? That might help them fight off their lurgies. It depends how poorly they are feeling. ((((hugs)))) for all of you.

The house here is remarkably unscathed by the weekend's nonsense. I do have a LOT of washing to process though so that is No 1 priority as that routine slipped over the weekend and the schools break up here on Friday.

Has anyone thought about holiday fly routines at all? Who does it affect?

I was thinking of getting the dcs involved in the morning and evening routines with the motivation that then we are free to go out. I thought I might write a colourful list and stick it up and they could earn "treat points" by ticking things off before 10am or something like that so we are free to have our day and then earn points again for an evening routine. Do you think that would work? When ds was off last week I saw how happy he was to help if he was doing it with me so I am possibly naively hopeful.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 26/03/2012 11:35

I am hoping the DC are improving here although I would say DD seems slightly more under the weather than DS.

I have:
got dressed
made bed
brought dry washing in
hanged out wet washing
we have all had breakfast (good sign!)

The DC are watching telly and I am just playing around (having a rest) on the computer.

Carrots We only have a yard and I don't think they are quite well enough to go anywhere so we are kind of stuck indoors. Is a shame though cause the weather is lovely and has been all weekend. Thanks for the kind wishes though Smile.

carrotsandcelery · 26/03/2012 11:40

I think it is supposed to be nice all week so maybe later in the week when they are a bit better.

I am struggling to decide which job to do next - too many options. I think I should tidy up the pots in the garden while it is nice though as a friend was laughing at the weeds we are cultivating at the weekend Blush

CatsSleepAnywhere · 26/03/2012 11:56

Oh yes carrots. My yard needs a tidy up. it is somewhat neglected at the mo.
We had some strong winds in the winter so lots of empty pots have been blown around. We don't have a lot of space out there but I still like to have plants in pots. My best plants at the mo are the daffodils and the Pieris which is about to erupt into the lovely red spring leaves.

I am hoping I can get out there later this week all being well.

carrotsandcelery · 26/03/2012 12:15

I have a pieris about 10 ft from where I sit when I am on the laptop and it has white flowers on it just now (unless it is something bursting through from underneath it). I love it when it goes red and peachy.

Our daffs are very nearly flowering. They normally come out about the end of this week (end of March). They have yellow heads but are not open yet iykwim.

liveinazoo · 26/03/2012 12:23

hi everyone
ive had a very busy weekend.the weather here has been glorious so spent most time out and about with the dc-saturday took girls into town to get ds new lunchbox as lost his fridayp.m we went out with kids on bikes over to local park/nature reserve which is only 10mins walk awaySmile and i walked another 3hours plus rests while they played at play areas we were out another 4hrs!
i was really tired when we got in,yet after a quick dinner they were revving up againShock

sunday we went out and about again for couple hours a.m ,lunch then ut again for another 1.5 hours then they spent rest p.m on trampoline

carrots glad party went ok and poorly girls better

cats hope you are all ok

bessie im so Envy another spa trip.you are a lucky, lucky girlGrin

camper at least the weekend was fun.ive had mad clean today get back on top of things

dp has a week off and will be around less as he will want my attention!

just going to have lunch then off park with little zoo as still fab out!

CamperWidow · 26/03/2012 14:52

Well, have managed to get loads done, so am much more positive! Lollipop goes for a nap when we get home from M&T and Muddles is generally asleep too, so I had a 90 minute window to get as much done as possible. I blasted around the house with one earphone in, just incase they woke up early, and did loads! Lollipop is currently wrapping up her toys in blankets and Muddles is slightly orange from a jar of 'Sunday Dinner'!!! Grin

carrotsandcelery · 26/03/2012 14:54

Well done Camper and who needs fake tan when there is "Sunday Dinner" on offer? Grin

I feel I have been productive too.

I have a busy week ahead and then visitors again at the weekend though so it could become tricky.

Scout19075 · 26/03/2012 17:24

Took advantage, yet again, of this glorious weather. Toddler and I went to the country park, about a 12 minute drive from here, and spent nearly three hours playing at the playground, walking through the woods and feeding the ducks/geese/swans. 'Twas lovely. And after a weekend of no naps, late nights and early risings I'm hoping his nap today (shortened due to needing to get to the park to meet friends) and 3 hours in the sun will mean he'll sleep his normal 7-6:30ish and get his first full night in days. Be back on both threads later when TS is in bed.

carrotsandcelery · 26/03/2012 17:52

It was 24C here this afternoon. It feels cooler now at 22C Grin

We have been to have an ice lolly, to see my ddad and to collect ds's new eye equipment: glasses, goggles and sunglasses.

Dd is now working on her project. She told me she had finished but she had cut and pasted an article from the internet Shock I told her it was illegal and she was Shock It was so obvious as well that I spotted it in about 10 words. 11yo don't often talk about "touting" for example Grin

carrotsandcelery · 26/03/2012 21:32

Save me! Dh has been playing ds's Skylanders game for the last half hour. Ds is obviously in bed. He seems to be having a great time. Hmm

Before that he was watching kids tv.

Is this a midlife crisis? if so at least it is cheaper than a sports car and a bit on the side.
