Hmm That is really, really strange as there are threads that have been commented on less recently still up there.

I will comment on it and see if it reappears.

carrotsandcelery · 21/03/2012 21:26

Very odd! I commented and it suddenly reappeared at the top of the list.

I am off to find some chocolate.

Scout19075 · 21/03/2012 21:26

Toddler's not allowed to grow up. I won't let him! I can't believe he's 2.4 already. I hope he grows up like MrScout and my brother -- wanting to visit their mothers, never wanting to disappoint them and, in the case of my 30 year old brother, still giving my mom cuddles whenever he goes home.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 21/03/2012 21:29

How strange about the thread Carrots Confused.

Scout It's quite scary how quick they grow, DS is off on a school trip tomorrow and will be out most of the day. I will miss him!

carrotsandcelery · 21/03/2012 21:30

Scout you feel sad because a stage ends but then the next stage is fun too so you enjoy it too. I don't think cuddly boys grow out of cuddling their mums. Ds still even does it at school and blows me kisses from the line ups when the bell goes. Grin

CatsSleepAnywhere · 21/03/2012 21:36

Same here carrots, my DS is also quite cuddly too.

carrotsandcelery · 21/03/2012 21:40

I think boys stay cuddly longer although dd is still very affectionate. She only cuddles me publicly when she is really tired now though but at home she cuddles all the time. She still comes and sits and chats when I am in the bath (and even the shower) and when I am getting ready in the morning.

You love the "new" dc just as much as the previous version which compensates a bit for the loss of the younger version.

I still know what you mean though Scout.

That ABBA song, "Slipping Through My Fingers" makes me bubble every time. Sad

CatsSleepAnywhere · 21/03/2012 21:43

Yes, That was on the Mama Mia film.

I'm gonna try and go to bed now. might be around for chat tomorrow but will have to wait and see.

Night all. x

Scout19075 · 21/03/2012 21:55

Yes, I miss the newborn and the baby Toddler was but I love the toddler he is and the little boy he is becoming just as much as I loved the baby he was. Other than these damn molars he's a happy chappy and very lovey and well behaved (as in, very few proper toddler tantrums). He's a bit of a wise old soul and scarily sensible for his age.

Good night, Cats.

Oooohhhh, swimming friend just asked if we'd like to go to the park after class for a picnic. Oh, yes please!

TS and I are going to have a fully social day tomorrow! Grin

CatsSleepAnywhere · 22/03/2012 07:30

Morning all,

Hope you have a good day Scout.

My back is still agony this morning so might try and see a doctor although I don't think they can do a lot anyway.
I will probably be around for a chat but can't do any Flying today. DH is being very helpful and is sorting the DC for school.

carrotsandcelery · 22/03/2012 09:58

Enjoy your sociable day Scout.

Thank goodness dh is at home for now Cats. I think seeing the doc is a good idea as he may be able to recommend a back support of some sort or refer you to physio to ease it off a bit. He will be able to confirm if it muscular or a disk problem too as I think you may treat them differently. He may also offer you stronger pain killers but I know you are not keen on that sort of stuff.

As I said on the other thread I feel sore all over like the aftermath of heavy and unusual exercise. I also feel really sluggish. I took my Levothyroxine as normal last night so it is not that. I have no idea what has done it. I don't want to medicate yet as I am horse riding and don't want to mask something that will be more sore later if I am not careful. I will tell my instructor though so we can warm up gently. It may be that a bit of exercise fixes it if I don't go crazy.

I am seriously struggling to get going today. Can someone boot me along please?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 22/03/2012 10:14

Here's a gentle boot carrots.

Don't forget to take it easy!

The doc is meant to be coming after 11. I can barely walk so couldn't go to the doctors surgery. So glad DH is home cause otherwise I don't know how I would have managed the DC this morning. He has got them both to school and nursery.

How are you today zoo?

carrotsandcelery · 22/03/2012 10:34

zoo is very quiet. I hope she hasn't seized up entirely. We are a sorry bunch today Shock I hope the doc comes up with a solution Cats. Fx!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 22/03/2012 13:03

The doc has been and said I have to try to move around rather than sit still. She also told me to get some painkillers (quite a lot of them Shock). DH might go to the shops.

How was the horse riding carrots?

carrotsandcelery · 22/03/2012 14:54

I did find after I fell off that I was less sore if I kept moving gently and the most sore if I sat still too long. Don't go lifting anyone or anything though.

That is good news Cats as that suggests it is a muscle rather than a disk so you should bounce back quicker. I found ibuprofen and arnica helped me a lot.

Your 15 min bursts of very gentle activity should do the trick Cats but only of light housework. Dh will have to roll up his sleeves and help out.

Horse riding was great thanks. I nearly burst into tears at one point as I was still a bit nervous and being asked to do something outside my comfort zone but I did it eventually and feel great now I have pushed through the fear barrier iykwim. Grin

CatsSleepAnywhere · 22/03/2012 15:20

Hi carrots, glad the horse riding was o.k.

I have just had a shower to see if that would help, it has made me feel more refreshed if anything.

I have to take ibuprofen and paracetamol. but she said 4 times a day which I am a bit Shock about but I think she must know what she is talking about.

I might get away with doing washing up as long as I don't stand there for too long. DH will have to help with some things though.

Today will feel like a long day as DS is away on a school trip and comes back around 7.

I think I will go and make a Brew

bessie26 · 22/03/2012 15:55

Do you have to alternate the brufen & paracetamol cats? I've done that a couple of times when I've needed round the clock pain relief. My nurse friend told me to take the ibruprofen with some food as it can sometimes be harsh on your stomach.

How are your aches after riding carrots?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 22/03/2012 16:14

I'm not sure how I will do it but the Ibuprofen is 3 times a day after food and the paracetamol 4 times a day.

carrotsandcelery · 22/03/2012 18:08

Hi Cats.

I would take the brufen every 8 hours and after some food as bessie says as it can be aggressive if your stomach is empty (a bit like me Grin).

You could take the paracetamol every four hours but not more than four times in the day. I would save it for the daytime when you are trying to move around.

Don't take more paracetamol than you think you need but the brufen reduces swelling so you should probably take that for a couple of days even if it is not sore.

My other aches have been eased by the exercise of riding but the small of my back is really aching, not helped by a long play session with ds in the park. He is getting heavy to push on spinny, swingy things!

liveinazoo · 22/03/2012 18:41

Will chocolate help all of the poorly/sore folks?

bessie26 · 22/03/2012 22:06
Scout19075 · 22/03/2012 22:17

No need to feign illness, plenty of chocolate for all!
